  1. Hmm mine looks ok, maybe wider landing legs help?
  2. We need to avoid having umpteen different files, merging is a pain in the ass.
  3. The persistence file details each vessel in the order it was introduced to the world, and the file is plan text which can be read by any text editor. To copy a vessel from one file to another, find the first instance of that vessels name, and copy the block of text until you reach the next vessel, but be aware there is a lot to scroll through. Then paste the vessel into the other file, if it is at the bottom, it will be the last vessel to be loaded into the game world. As soon as I successfully land the \'Welcome To Badlanding\' I can add my vessel to the file.
  4. This\'ll be great when multiplayer is implemented, there\'d be a live game on a server, no need to exchange persistence files.
  5. Here we are, I\'ll have to try another time.
  6. Sorry guys the game keeps crashing and I\'m having terrible lag for some reason, I have to skip my go.
  7. Okay I have merged the files and am currently watching my old boosters drop out of the air, I will then send up another rocket. Should I name it Badlanding?
  8. Okay I shall merge your craft into God\'s save, as his is the most up to date so far, then I\'ll have a go (and finally allow my boosters to reenter the atmosphere) Perhaps someone can volunteer to run a dedicated Non-stock only Munar base?
  9. Hi Darkshadow. Here is another rocket for the Micro category, it\'s not the smallest but it\'s easy to fly. Name: Munbeam 450N Type: Minro Munar lander Page: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=8298.0 Also you might want to ask Kosmo-not but I think his Bare Minimum is a light orbiter rather than a Munar craft. Thanks for adding my ships
  10. Having non-stock parts does put some people off, but the same can be said of stock only, it wouldn\'t be so bad if mods weren\'t so large and the part count can easily get out of control, especially if someone only uses a single part from a large mod pack. But I don\'t want to turn people away just because they like giant overweight underpowered rockets and even I\'d like to use a few mods that give me some unusual abilities, no ones made an upside down engine yet and I have need of one.
  11. Just adding the Munandback to the file, I hope its fully stock. Edit: Well the Munandback must use a nonstock part as it prevented any craft from loading, so I guess now I know what happens if you don\'t have a part installed. It looks like God\'s file is the best one to go with for now as it has all the stock ships, I\'ll re-upload it so you don\'t have to hunt for it, I\'ll also do the non-stock file in a bit.
  12. I have combined the thee saves that were produced while you were away, can you double check them to ensure they are usable? Also I have made a version without Gojia\'s ship, should someone want to start a stock only base. Edit: I knew I forgot something, here is the stock save so far. Either trbinsc can fly his ship or I can add his ship to the save and reupload it.
  13. Maybe because you left debris? if they were unstable they would have fallen over, Kerbals seem to have two kinds of building material, duct tape and explosives. I have been wondering if it\'s possible to build a Mun cleaning craft of some sort.
  14. Thanks Kosmo-not and Exovian, you guys are great
  15. We\'re going to need a separate one for stock I guess, maybe it needs its own thread? I\'ll install mods in my community base installation of KSP, it\'d be nice to have some colour. Also, anyone posting non-stock ships, please give us the link to the parts as well, I for one have no idea where Intrepid II is or Yawmaster.
  16. Bugger I didn\'t want to have to download endless mods. God, did you used Deadly Pears file? I just want to make sure I have all the ships so far. Don\'t worry I checked, I added the God to the file. Thats enough for me tonight, its late here in Blighty, and I need trbinsc\'s file before much more happens. Goodnight
  17. Okay, Deadly pear has had a go, trbinsc said he\'d have a go, then it was meant to be me, I\'ll combine Gods save into the main base once trbinsc turns up with his file, then I\'ll have a go, then It\'ll be whoever is next on the list. Best do it this way or we\'ll get mightily confused as to who went when @ Gojira, I don\'t know, trbinsc said mods are fine but what happens when we load a persistence file with mods we don\'t have installed?
  18. Oooh nice ship, I never got the hang of landing on RCS, it\'s always been main engine and tilting slightly for me. I played Psygnosis Lander way too much, it has pride of place on my game shelf.
  19. I\'m quite prepared to put up a small craft with the base name on it, Badlanding would be pretty apt but we will see more successful flights I\'m sure. I\'m open to suggestions
  20. Merging of persistence files is not a problem, as long as trbinsc is okay with it, I\'ll gladly combine them, you might have to pm me the file so I don\'t lose it amongst other posts here.
  21. Possible names for the community Munar base include: Scrap city Capsule land Badlanding Starbase california Spaceships end Dunflyin It\'s raining metal
  22. Don\'t forget god trbinsc, he deserves another go, we owe him something after making him up after all. Also I have combined the old base file with my current persistence file, all ships are accounted for though the crew may differ as I noticed different names in the two lists.
  23. Well I\'m in of course, I need to test coalescing of persistence files at some point so don\'t worry if someone goes out of turn, as long as they have not landed in exactly the same spot as someone else everything should be fine.
  24. Okay well 1km isn\'t too bad, I need to get Darkshadows rover up there so we can drive over to you, do you have enough fuel to move the 1km?
  25. I flew by feel mostly, so I\'m not the best person to ask, but what I did was this. I got to Munar orbit (obviously ) then I tilted the orbit so I\'d fly directly over the base. I like to come in low and fast which probably made it harder, but when I was about 18k away and 5k high I made a full burn to stop my lateral movement. Bare in mind I had 6 full tanks of extra mass I was delivering so it took longer than normal to slow down. When the direction marker had reached the edge of the navball I tilted vertical and used low thrust to prevent my lander from dropping too quickly, and I adjusted my angle a little so I\'d fly towards the base. When near and above the base I corrected my sideways movement and continued to drop at around 50 to 70 m/s, I reduced speed nearer the ground then hovered on the engine, very carefully moving with ASAS on and using WASD to tilt ever so slightly. I hovered over to the base, which was only about 500 meters away by now, and landed, even with 6 full tanks I could hover for quite a while.
