  1. Weird stuff starts happening after about 300 parts in the VAB; I don't know about the SPH. Especially symmetry issues. Hopefully Whackjob pokes his head in here with some tips. I just avoid it by building modestly these days.
  2. I'm doing a 5 contract Mun mission. Transmit data from kerbin, transmit data from the Mun, Land a base on the Mun, plant a flag, seismic surveys near landing site. should take a bite out of the 1.5 million funds I still need to upgrade my R&D building. I designed a good looking permanent base and a rover. Now I just need to design a delivery system before I can start.
  3. I love replicas. This one looks great. I especially like the way the rover wheel is such a good substitute for the apparatus and instruments on the top of your Voyager 1.
  4. Yesterday I failed to orbit a satellite around Minmus in the proper direction, loaded my launch quicksave, and quit. Today I'll succeed.
  5. This was the closest I've ever seen. It's actually pretty decent, but it still doesn't look quite right. I prefer the dirty looking SNES versions.
  6. I second Star Control ships... I was thinking about if a Spathi ship would be possible the other day... I wish I could remember the name of a game I used to play that was similar. (Top-down, forward/backward/rotate controls, space exploration with a grey ship. Also the first ship you can fight is yellow... possibly not aggressive. I don't remember a whole lot about it!) DOUBLE EDIT: It was called Solar Winds I think.
  7. Someone needs to make an Arwing that doesn't suck!
  8. I landed in IVA mode for the first time ever. I'm more of a rocket guy, but I can't resist easy survey missions close to KSC. I landed this goofy looking thing... I do Mun landings IVA usually because it's cooler, but I never tried planes. Flight instruments rule!
  9. Nice Rossetta tribute, your Philae looks great! I like the drill a lot.
  10. While I wouldn't call this a replica, it's definitely really really Apollo-style and very tightly constructed with aesthetics obviously a chief design concern. I like this very much. Good luck scarring the Mun's surface with your nasty burnt-out husk of a descent stage and a little tiny Kerbal flag. That's my favorite thing about Apollo-style landers.
  11. You can always tell when someone has spent a lot of time working on a project. The finished product always looks 100% complete. Nice work! My only criticism is the hidden solar panels. I don't like moving parts clipping into each other; it drives me nuts!
  12. I start with the crew's names and roles, then purpose of the mission (Whether it was testing new craft or techniques or routine scientific expedition.) I try to put an inspirational quote for the first few. Once it gets less significant, then they become more routine/generic.
  13. I completed a satellite contract, and forgot a probe core to deorbit the last stage of the delivery system. I reverted, added the core, did the contract again, then noticed I put the core on the wrong side of the decoupler... Then I stopped playing for the night. I'm going to try again tonight. Third time is a charm!
  14. I started playing KSP again! I spend a lot of time on these forums. I'm always in genuine awe of the creativity and accomplishments of fellow kerbonauts. There's so much to do in KSP and it's a game that has such a steep learning curve that I feel like there really are no boundaries except the time and effort you're willing to put forth. I took care of an exceptionally troublesome contract last night. In order to complete it I had to spend much more than the contract paid out, but now I can finally get back to earning funds towards things I need. I'm going to restrict contracts to placing satellites in orbit and nearby fly by surveys. I need to upgrade my facilities and complete the tech tree before I start exploring space. I want funds to be my only constraint.
  15. Spending the time to make everything absolutely perfect... ...then never get around to getting anything accomplished.
  16. That's why it'd be a diagnostics report. It should be worth something at least. Like a systems check.
  17. Posts like this make me need to play the game again. I think you're now responsible for getting me back into KSP for the 100th time. +Rep Now if I could just figure out how to earn a lot of Kerbux. >:[
  18. My only gripe about it is probes not being able to do a crew report. They should have their own version called a diagnostics report or something.
