Xbox One Save Game Wipe After v.1180 patch

hey guys I just posted a copy of this in the Original patch thread, but since some of you wanted to use this thread, it might be relevant here too. So here it is. Have anyone tried my "how to corrupt the game in 5 minuttes" yet? I'm not wasting more time on this until its confirmed a fix, so if anyone starting a New career wanna try, please do. What i did was, as I've said before- Start New career (maybe give some Researchpoints so you can easily build larger ships from start for this test!) Unlock some parts! Now make a Savefile in KSC. Og into build mode, make a Large Craft With 300 parts. Save it! Now rename it several times With a New name. When I first did this test, more then 2 months ago, I renamed and made about 30 Versions of the ship, tho, KSP only kept 8 of em. Any saves of any kind, made after this point would fail. Make a New Savefile in KSC, this would normaly fail (be lost) Now restart the game & hope for the best! Are they all there? Also, as I have also said earlier, theres no need too launch the Ships into Space Or Kerbin. Having the files in the "folder" seemed too do the job. Before I'd start a New KSP career, I would check this out for sure. Atleast you'd be sure -

Nope, tho you can not use Visa/Mastercards/Paypal and so on, since they will tell you that you are in the wrong region. Xbox wont let you buy anything "over the boarder" anynmore it seems. But what says that it would be illegal too have a Rich uncle from USA, that sends you X-Box giftcards on yer birthday So what i do, is buy a Prepaid Giftcard online, for the region i want too buy a game. Usualy US, as they get releases earlier then EU. (getting FIFA on 27. in US & the 29. in EU). Also, I get my Cards from this site - http://www.pcgamesupply.com & I've gotten all my orders too date. Be carefull tho, This game is broken as it sits now, & desperatly need a patch. Jusk keep that in mind, & maybe check the somewhat workarounds if you get stuck

Hey all, back to the "workaround" again here. For those of you that get stuck early, are any of you using "Stock Ships" or what theyr called. I'm not sure if these can max you out earlier, but worth a try atleast. (You Can turn em off in settings in KSC "Costumise" or sumthing, button on the bottom i think.) Dont need to start a New Career.

Yeah, kinda sounds like the bug, where everything Locks up after longer missions. Had this happen to me after doing a Kerbal-Mun-Kerbal trip. As far as i know theres no fix for this, Unless you can somehow make it Autosave for you. I made a thread about this earlier, With a workaround (that worked for me). But this wont work for everyone, as i did have a manned capsule. I had too go into EVA and could then retrive the ship. I made a thread about this earlier, Guess its somewhat the same prob. That workaround might not work here tho- 4 replies

I went back to my solution post. to re-read it and make sure it made sense and it was gone!! Was about to complain and then I see its been Sticky'd to the opening post as the best solution. 1. of all, when "all" those Companies releases their broken games, they ususaly get it working within a week or two, atleast the crititcal fixes, so its not really the same is it?? This game STILL doesnt work!. (And Squad dont belive in hotfixes they told me) And here we are 8 weeks!!! after release, and theyr patches still fails QA's... Yeah you can start the game, play it for a while. But not for long... So it "Works" but is still broken. If you'd play the game for 2 hours only, you'd prolly never notise the "memorybug". And 2.dly what is needed too break this game you ask? well, as i've said so many times now, this is how I did my first test, It wont fail. Start a New career Go into hangar, build a ship With 300 Parts. Then just rename this Ship 10 times! Save it With New names ofc. When doing this, only the first 7 or 8 Ships will be Saved, the rest (9th-10th) will just disappear. Also, any saves/quicksaves/autosaves after this point will fail, and disappear after restarting the game. They are there before Restarting the game, but disappear on restart. It is as you max out the games available memory or sumthing, You can free up space, but can only go so far, as the savefiles themselves grow larger. And do notise! This is with having the ships in the "load ships" folder, you dont even need to have them in-flight. Yeah this game is so broken.... should never gone thru the prerelease QA. Wonder how it did that... -

Yeah, if you stay true to the "rules" of the workarounds, its possible to do some things in the game. But you'd have to be carefull, not beeing able to do half of the "missions" given, or even less later ingame. And good job on reworking the fixes @AndyChilly i gave up working on em after 2-3 seeks... When theres actually fixes for the friggin borked release you gave us (Squad), how about maybe "putting em up there" or somehow promote the somewhat workarounds. But naah, that would make them look bad, would'nt it. Cuz not all PR is good PR. They could atleast make em Stickys... They probably wont tho.... i've asked earlier. -

"FTE will need to build several 300 part ships, launch them and leave them in space, while making a bunch of custom quicksaves" nono, You got it wrong you dont even need too have the ships in flight! Just having them in the "load Craft" menu, will max out the memory of the game, no need too have them in flight even . (i learned this 6 weeks ago, lots of info in threads about Cant save... ) Then again, what you mentioned is problem number 2, Yeah, any launched ship will also max out the memory, so even if what i said 1. doesnt mess it up, the latter will, as in lots of stations and satelites. Theres just so many holes in this game, that the so called workarounds seems useless for now. -

"If the game only "currupts" after 2 weeks of testing that would be an improvement! Release the patch." Well thats the problem, Start a New game, make a ship With 300 parts, rename & save it 8 times. You have now maxed out Our game and ruined it. Now this is just a test i did, too check what would max out the game, but depending on gamestyle, you could easily max out kinda early.... -

Yup. Utterly unserious Company, and then theres some of the "bleivers" that put us Down, becouse we complain that we think we're being treated unfair. Ohh Yeah, dont get me wrong, KSP rocks! If you could only play it... And at first... Before the console release, as i already got it on PC, I was thinking & saying out loud too all my m8s i play With on xb1, that "*This game is soo good, it deserves to be bought twice" Well... that was before release. After 1 friend bought it, I told the rest to stay away! And that i'd rather buy it on PC (none of em got gamer PC tho so no sales there either) Yeah. I am a beliver of the PC Version! But stay the heck away from the console Version, I dont think it could ever work out as good as we could hope for. & if its runs that bad on Vanilla, what would mods do to the perfomance, they'll prolly never show up. -
Yeah, sorry m8, did'nt mean too fire off at you Deddly... you just requoted theyr infos its just that any official info from the Squad or FT, this is what they start and end theyr "News" With. & its starts too really irriatate I mean, stand up, and take it like a man... dont just blame others... For the OP tho and getting back on topic, have'nt seen all of these problems before, tho if you (OP) read the posts about maxing out the memory and so on, I wouldnt be supriced if that would turn out too be the reason for this one also. PS4 on Europe We have made a lot of progress on this, but we want to have the saving issue fixed before actually submitting the game for certification. We are working on all that as our priorities. My gawd... i've heard enough of the "Its really Sony & M$ that is too blame here" cwap. Soo theres something soo special With KSP, that it takes M$ 3-4 weeks too test it and get it out? That means those QA tests from M$ probably failed then? No other game on the Xbox1 system would take a month too get thru. We got games that's patched weekly, and even getting Hotfixes within days after release. So go put those "Its not Us, Its them" excuses somewhere else pls! They said they had fixed Xbox issue, but not PS4 last time i checked, but that was a week ago or sumthin. So now 6 weeks after release & nada.

lol. Yeah... so 6 weeks since release. & still cant play the game, as intented. (just be careful, "they" contol everything in here) So just dont ask when, or you'll be warned, and slapped, & prolly Your post deleted check out 2.3 E of the rules & reg. 2.3 Forbidden Messages a. Messages that contain no meaningful content, such as "like", “Bump" or any variation on the type of message that is used to needlessly boost threads and/or keep post counts up; b. Messages made for the perceived purpose of stirring up and otherwise getting a rise from users (ie, flamebaiting, troll posts); c. Messages that only contain images in response to a certain subject dependent to the context of the thread (ie. reaction images); d. Messages that purposefully change the subject of conversation in a thread without a natural tie to the topic at hand; and e. Messages that inquire about release dates for future versions of KSP. But can always hope x-mas comes early this year....... lol, what i heard 3 weeks ago. What i hoped 5 weeks ago. -

Yeah, It seems you've maxed the limit i was talking about, Seems like they are working on a patch tho, so Xboxers might get it before xmas atleast. As long as the game have not crashed before you exit the game, try atleast to delete as much as possible at this point. Becouse, if you'd free up Space, then play for 3-4 hours (making more Crafts) it will again max out the game while doing this since you already have 5+ Ships in flight from the start. So only workarounds now is those, And one reported as a last fix, try after a cleanup before exiting the game, too hire/fire a Kerbal & that would make the game Autosave the Persistent file for you. So you would not need the other save files. (each savefile With alot of "action" in each takes up alot of memory too, not just the Craft recipes) -

I could'nt have word'ed it better myself. Its like they're the first ported game ever... & also love the excuses With it taking half a year too get a "patch" (that will make the game playable(They dont belive in "hotfixes" you see, I asked)) thru the M$/Sony systems. Had they only done a belivable QA, that be, if they wore smart.... Since FT did the Porting, maybe Squad (or the community that lives this game) should have been part of the QA. The whole thing stinks imo. -
Possible to "Save" game in middle of Training Mission?

Hey I'm sorry, but have'nt tired out the Training missions yet. But normaly in Career you can press Start when in-flight, then one of the options should be "Quicksave". Another option would be "Load save" or sumthing, these might be disabled in training tho. -

Dont buy it, before its patched tho. Seems Xbox will be "fixed" first, since they're having more problems With the ps4. Might also be the reason maybe, why they're holding back on worldwide release. I mean, they already messed up enough. This only Works every now & then. Persistent is the Autosave file, its used more then just i from KSC. So when you've played for lets say 6 hours, flying long missions, without beeing in KSC, it should also Autosave With Persistent, But does not! So that just wont work. What will work tho, every time. Is as i've said 10x times now, is deleting old Crafts from the "load Crafts" list. And deleting Old savegames. Problem is tho, when you get a largearse spacestation, With lets say 5-6 docked station-parts, and maybe a satelite or two orbiting some planets/muuns, You will not be able to have more then 1 or maybe 2 saves. In the end only the Persistent will work, and then even this will max out. Even tho you dont have any Crafts in the load menu. So, Yeah there are workarounds, but they're not flawless non of em in the long run. -

Yeah, I had to start the game too check it out. Its Version 1.1.0.1157. I've never ever ( i think ) totaly flamed the Control issues. I mean, thats totaly patchable isnt it (making it possible to remap atleast)? I also learned more or less how too use em ingame. Is i said above, the fact they claim this release did a 3-way QA, is freeky. How about changing out the QA team then? True, i've had PC Version since early-early release, so i know about what i could & should'nt expect, but unable too play, isnt just " a little glitchy" tho. This is a "cant play the game" & is a 1 month old problem now. As they say, we Xboxers might see a fix soon tho. -

KSP Console runs on 1.0.1 i think. One year old PC GOLD release was it not? (Released 1st May, 2015) Had it only been 1.1 (Released 19th April, 2016) -

True, but still messed up, that the initial QA, didnt even notise errors that happens to EVERYONE, when it comes to maxing the games available memory. Thus the Savegames getting Corrupted(ps4)/Lost(xb1) As i've said in earlier threads, "All you need to do, too max out the memory from a freshly started game, Is make a 300 Parts Wessel, And Rename it 8 times." That in itself, would mess up the game. That means, If you're the type that just wants to do a build-craft bonanza, or, If you just wanna launch alot of Sat/ships or a Station, You would get messed up either way. So Yeah, my Guess is that, that initial QA, was not really a QA was it?. If Somone even tried this game over a little time, they'd notise something was very wrong. -
