So I’m working with a combined mining/refining vessel (Digger 7, I call it) to drill and process into fuel. It’s worked well on Minmus and the Joolian moons.
But on Gilly, even once I’ve landed and stabilized (damned tiny gravity), I push my craft off the surface every time I deploy my two Drillomatics and have to land all over again. To make matters even trickier:
- After such a landing and bounce back, I can generally leave my drills deployed and they ease into the surface once I land again. BUT...
- If I deploy my drills prior to my initial landing attempt, the surface treats the drill tips as hard objects and the craft lands on them, toppling and/or bouncing back up.
Anyone else observe this? Solutions? I’ve read references to “collision mesh” elsewhere but don’t really know anything about it.
