  1. What you talking about? Are u describing whats known as a double spend? I'm not here to argue the fundamentals of block chain security with you. Im doing this to learn about crypto. If you have a problem with that im sorry. It simply makes it fun to create it with a goal in mind. Thats all it is dude. Wth.....
  2. Actually, since every single crypto is built off bitcoin code, which is licensed MIT, every crypto is essentially a carbon copy, slightly modified. You can create one in 5 minutes.
  3. Mods are just toys, games are just toys. Who needs them? No one, WE WANT THEM! You are perfectly welcome to send money. Infact I'm 1000% sure the devs would appreciate that. You would however be among a very select few. No its not about how the forum works. Moderators inserted themselves making false accusations because old folks are weary of new technology. Nothing new about that.
  4. @Gargamelnow that everyone is on the same page. what would be the implications of creating a mod, like ckan, that gave everyone who downloaded it 10,000 free kerbincoins, assuming they followed all dependencies like owning a wallet to store them? These would be stored on the users hardrive. They are intended to be used as a peer to peer block chain "like" system outside the forums. Eq: I like a mod. I tell said modder by sending him some worthless kerbincoin. Lol, come on man, its hilarious. This really isn't intended to be serious. I only joke that it could ACCIDENTALLY become valuable because that's exactly what happened to dogecoin. I simply want to experiment with new technology in videos games. I thought this was the place for that?? This idea of kerbin money laundering really hurts me to hear. How dare you accuse me of something like that. My history here should prove I'm not a greedy individual. I spent over 1000 hours creating kerbalized spacex for absolutely free.
  5. Well duh... I think u guys are getting a little ahead of yourselves here. Thats why I asked for advice.... this is simply a learning experience. I generally just try to find a reason to create something than to just mindlessly work....
  6. I dont understand how this would use the forum for financial transactions. You guys keep saying this but its 100% factually untrue. This is exactly what it would look like. Donations accept at- DH5yaieqoZN36fDVciNyRueRGvGLR3mr7L no link, no web sites. You enter you account. copy & paste my address, Hit send. End of story! Is patreon paying you some of the fee or something? This is a good thing for the little guys. right now its donations accepted at- https://www.paypal.com/us/home if you are infact telling me I can't share my wallet address than you are also telling me I can't share my PayPal address. Correct?
  7. There is no need for external sites that charge you transaction fees in a block chain. Its a dedicated and secure framework for peer to peer transactions. I agree, external sites could present an issue. No need for those in the block chain. You simply need a wallet address. I argue that logic is flawed. We live in "generation like". Likes are simply a worthless currency invented by forums to buy reputation. Remove that thumbs up and I will relent this is a forum of discussion rather than commerce. Its time the worthless 'likes' be replaced. Reddit has realized this. They allow members to purchase and send trophies, which can then be redeemed (all for a fee of course). There's a better idea, just no one has seen it yet.
  8. and technically I'm not sure how it would work yet. Im still working on designing its scalability in a way elon musk would support. He said on Twitter he would only create his own crypto "if necessary". Its not necessary, elon, we can do it. Just have to distribute it and not let it centralize into a small group. What better way than to start its distribution completely free in my favorite community, I no longer hang out in, but holds a special place in my heart.
  9. That makes zero sense. Financial transactions occur all the time on the forum by way of "donations". Perhaps I wasn't clear. You have a crypto wallet and download my mod, which gives you for absolutely free, 10,000 kerbincoin (made up name). You can instantly send those kerbincoin to another address simply by scanning it with your phone. No banks, etc, the block chain does all that. The block chain has no need for oversight like this forum. One might consider it a replacement for likes, because let's me honest, they're lame and useless.. Atleast a free crypto could by chance catch a meme on Twitter, pop in popularity and buy a modder new rig or something. We know you aren't doing that. Or are you? I know I can't afford that. Further, I disagree. Do you have any mods for ksp? Large ones, you created from scratch. Modders will take any financial help they can get. I know you're a moderator but I've personally not seen any work from you. You can find a link to my work on ksp. I have given to this community but want to give in back in a more meaningful way to the ones really putting in the work. Modders.
  10. Edit: Because I have received so much attention- With the recent success of meme crypto currencies like dogecoin and Elons Musk sporadic behavior of tweeting them to the moon. I believe it is an strategic time to prepare our community.... just in case, right? Elon needs space candidates and rocket seats filled. Who better to fill them than people who love space? One could argue that he needs us more than we need him. I intened to throw Elon Musk a bone and need your help to do it. Love me or hate me for it. Its in good intention. I apologize if you feel differently. I have always maintained that I would give the community free coins. If you guys make something of this. Elon will take notice. He loves jokes, irony, space, rockets, technology, & ingenuity. WE MEET ALL THE CRITERIA! Introduce, Kerbcoin. The crypto for space nerds to buy rockets! Join me on the mun! Lol Original post: Kind-of crazy idea, but what if we teamed up and created a super cheap cryto currency to tip to our favorite modders on the KSP forum. Hear me out, it wouldn't be worth much now, but in the world of meme coins today. Heck it could potentially make modding actually worth peoples time in the future. As the original creator of kerbalized SpaceX, I can attest, It takes so much effort to get the mods out at the pace and quality people on this forum do. I've witnessed the power people can have when they come together and that leaves me asking myself... Why cant we do something like that? I'm learning about crypto atm by creating my own currency and figured hey, this could be a cool test case.... If something like this existed, how do you guys think it would work? Like could we start by giving everyone on the forums a certain number of coins if they wanted them? Any ideas really.
  11. The markets adapted to elons tweets quickly. The hyper spikes followed by deep crashes only occurred the first two times. Its been holding to a new floor price daily. My primary concern is one account holds 33 billion doge coin. Which is strange to be in a single wallet. There's quite alot of speculation that elon owns it, but zero proof. He did state on Twitter last year, in April, that "doge was his favorite cryto". Who ever owns it stacked up in November. In any case, a sell off of that amount would decimate the value. Its not a concern in the short term because only fools are selling doge right now. But certainly makes me very suspicious of its long term viability. The fact its inflationary helps but.....
  12. That's unlikely to happen any time soon. Breaking the $.056 mark was an indicatior as over 2 billion doge sold at that price 2 days ago. (Which was a steal considering it hit above .080 today) Those positions are no longer a threat to retreat, which should drive the price higher. And then we have Elon pumping it, who just so happens to need a fresh supply of wealthy young people who can afford, and are willing, to put down 500k on a trip to mars. Its pretty out there (risky). But so was every great investment that came along risk = reward. Before doge I averaged around .5-2% return trading a day, which isn't bad. Im up 162% in the last week on doge. If it hits $1 my life is changed forever. Not saying thats gonna happen. Buts its worth the risk from my perspective. Im not betting my retirement. Plus I have stop losses set up at 10%. I've been in since .032. This is not financial advice. Im telling u what I have done, not what u should do. Do your due diligence before investing in anything!
  13. Any you guys on the dogecoin movement?
  14. I would need to know the operating cost of the elevator to make any kind of real financial analysis. It isn't just a one time cost. Thousands of technicians, mechanics, & engineers would need to be employed and trained. Constant maintenance would be required, daily inspections, etc. I imagine a scenario where the elevator is shut down months at a time for repair, closed more often than open. The ultimate money vacuum if you will.
  15. I think it would be useful in ksp1. Ksp2 will have self sufficient colonies and space stations, from my understanding, where you can build, etc. Since we can build anywhere im not sure what a space elevator adds, other than the cool factor. Perhaps it could be a gate way technology but it would become mostly useless the moment a space station becomes self sufficienct. Also, while the idea may seem cool. Who really wants to spend 10 minutes mindlessly watching something ascend into space on an elevator? Maybe once.... And if it practically just loads you in space than we allready have an elevator in ksp1. Its called cheat>set orbit.
  16. Speak for yourself. I've spent days in the deserts and mountains of gta v doing nothing but bicycle stunts, base jumps, motorcycle jumps, plane stunts, etc. I like cyberpunk 2077... but the only thing there is to do is- drive from point A to B and kill said enemies. It was fun for two days..... if I hadn't played gta v so much already I'd crank it up and give a real game a go.
  17. I like the idea and am a bit sad to see how dismissive alot. I do find it funny.... alot of the people i see talking "magic" are the same who argue kerbals dont need food and water to survive..... sounds like magic to me.. On a real note, there is actual historical implication supporting this. For 800 years after the fall of rome the art of making concrete was lost. Concrete is technology. Its discovery and re-engineering was a pinnecal achievment that assisted in propelling humanity foward into the modern age. I could literally go on an on. For hundreds of years, still even to this day, famous architects will travel to ancient buildings to study and learn from their designs. These are all buildings that in there time would have been considered impossible to build.... thanks to thier work..... we now how software that can structuraly design our buildings. However, this software only exist because the grand amount of historical information we have access too. How do you know this design will work????? Well.... the hagia sophia has stood for 1500 years.... so the computer says this is a good design.
  18. Go into the main menu options and check what resolution you're playing at.
  19. So, about energy production.... i know those solar panels arent the only thing running the place.
  20. Built the booster for my new lander. Flew around kerbin and did some carrier landings. Also built my first helicopter drone. Working on resizing the parts so i can build a true mini drone. Tested the new lander on a mission for minimus and mun landings with a kerbin return without refueling. Does this count? Lol this thing could still fly.
  21. Made a jet inspired by the Grumman X-29 and played around awhile. I spent forever barking up the wrong tree trying to get my crane arm on my Duna lander working perfect. I'm pretty inexperienced with the robotic parts so it was worth the time. Oh!!!! And I found out you can take a screen shot while paused!!!! WHAT!!!
  22. It is kas. I built the rover and crane a few weeks ago and just got around to finishing it. I cant recall if there was an issue with connecting in the editor.
  23. Picture time line of my first trip to Duna playing astronomers visual overhaul. My Comm satt around kerbin.
  24. I was genuinely interested in the research from a marketing standpoint. (Im working on starting my own business). If its statistically proven id enjoy reading it. Forgive me for being skeptical. I've just heard the opposite. I do believe the general consensous is people dont enjoy spoilers. For the most part because it strips a person of their right to decide for themselves. What i do believe is that there exist an optimal balance where customer engagement is greatest. How long does the general customer even engage with a game they are advertised? Not long, if at all. You have about 30 seconds tops(guess)..... no one wants your life story. People on this forum are FANS not your general consumer. On a side note.... video games and movies/tv interact with completely different parts of the brain. You're essentially a zombie when you watch tv. Recent research suggest video games interact heavily with the problem solving portions of the brain. So is research regarding TV applicable to video games?
  25. Hummm... Could you link such a study. Im under the influence its quite the opposite. Here is a quote from a study... "This research suggests one explanation for why spoilers suck: They remind us that a story is just a story." This relates to how our brains blurr the lines between fiction and reality. Moreover, TV shows and movies go to great lengths to protect from spoilers. One of the Fast n furious shot in my town surrounded its self in storage containers stacked over 100 ft high. GOT shot multiple fake scenes and endings to avoid spoilers. last, KSP2, on the steam store, has ZERO spoilers in its promotional material.
