If all the passengers are frozen, why is the ship so big? The only reasonable starship is the Dragonfly from Rocheworld. The coolest looking one is the Navoo

Time for Eve! -
sure

?

What? Why is he going out to Ceres!? Did he have more delta vee than expected? How crazy is this!
-
16 story!
-
When I watch these Falcon 9 and FH landings, it is easy to underestimate the size of the boosters. My mental image of them was them eing 3 stories tall. Nope. They are HUGE!
-
As I have said several times, that FH was not planned for reusability. They then decided on reusability, so they had to develop the 9's reusability first. The FH propsed in 2011 was different than the one that just launched.

Well then, TMI is done. SUCCESS!

-
What happened to fairing recovery?
-
When is TMI?
-
Sorry

Elon Musk confirmed SSTO capability on reddit. Maybe they'll add in the Vacuum engines at launch?

"Today SpaceX achieved a spectacular and historic success.Seven years ago, the Augustine commission said that NASA's Moon program had to be cancelled because the development of the necessary heavy lift booster would take 12 years and 36 billion dollars.SpaceX has now done that, on its own dime, in half the time and a twentieth of the cost. And not only that, but the launch vehicle is three quarters reusable. This is a revolution. The naysayers have been completely refuted. The Moon is now within reach. Mars is now within reach. The moment is at hand to open the space frontier. America should seize the time. And to the SpaceX team, let us offer this salute:You did it. They said it couldn't be done, but you did it. You made it look easy, but we know it wasn't.You took your knocks. You took your failures. But you fought it through.Fortune favors the brave. Fortune favors the smart. But most of all, fortune favors the tough.Talk about the right stuff. You guys are great. Hats off!"Dr. Robert Zubrin

Military launches for secret payloads, spy satelites, telescopes, ect.
-
Its only planned for 5 launches anyway.
-
@Kerbal7, the argument is basically whether or not Musk has non-business motivations, which is kind of unanswerable. So, you might be right, but there is no proof either way. Also, right after a successful launch isn't the best time to naysay Spacex

The ship is designed to go to Mars. He's litterally testing the ship next year. Correct. They are going to use it as a 0 payload SSTO(!)
-
Because he's diverting his employees to the BFR.
-
Fairing recovery?
-
Exactly
-
Then why is he investing all this money in doing it? Its profitability is questionable, but he said the point of all of his companies is to raise money to go to Mars.
-
Wait a second... WHAT ABOUT the Mr. Steve?
-
Could they recover the boosters though?
