In term of construction time, obviously. It terms of style I do not agree It terms of survivability and resources used they should still use the same stuff.

What do you mean by it makes no sense today.

People this is basic, in a free society atleast. A law does not authorize behavior it prohibits it. Is their a law saying you can use a mouse in your left hand? Is their a law saying that you can paint your walls, is their a law saying that you can change a light bulb. I'm not talking about War Rationing here I'm talking about General life. It makes no sense for a legislature to authorize behavior as the list of possible things to do is endless! Furthur more what does this have to do with the EULA. Exactly suppose (to be outrageous) you bought KSP on an American Mars base. Do you want to FedSpaceX that letter to Take two headquarters? I mean honestly the insanity. Laws need to catch up the internet it really is the wild web.

That's what small print is for.

If they said ask one question. My question would be tell me everything you know. That way we would learn all of their history, economics, society, technology, mathematics. Literally everything they know. If you ask them one specific thing you are losing an opportunity on others. Furthermore if you ask what your ideology is it may only work for their society. You need context that would not be answered so it is dangerous to get the answer to just one question. This is why I would ask what is everything you know. [snip]

Question: is vacuum in space real?
Cheif Operations Director replied to JERONIMO's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I mean The question is what constitutes space. In atomosphere boxes or out of atmosphere boxes could be void of all particles. Do you define protons as I'n a vacuum as they have drag on a craft however they are not atoms. I guess somewhere on space a complete vacuum exist but I think it is rare. -
Non Newtonian bowling?!
Cheif Operations Director replied to Arugela's topic in Science & Spaceflight
As a cheap (in terms of science) solution is you make the bowling bowl a magnet the the floor or the lane a super magnet then the non-Newtonian liquid (NNL as I will call it from now on) in between the two. Hence the bowling ball can experiacne minimal resistance and the NNL Is still part of floor -

NASA 3D printed Mars habitat concepts
Cheif Operations Director replied to tater's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The last one seem to be the most practical for a getting from earth to mars perspective. I think NASA should go with that one and then connect a bunch of them to make a full base. On a technicality, It is tiny and ugly that it is just a test and that will be a great way to test these bases -
totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
Cheif Operations Director replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
MURICA! In all seriousness if you are tired enough and listen to this consecutively for long enough it will start to echo in your head. -
May I point out that from a philosophical point that the idea of having to mail in your opt out is insane. Imagine if a TV provider sold you a box that transmitted to their stations had a "EULA" one day and changed it the next day. The new EULA said that they can spy on you and that if you have a problem with it you can not use the legal systems but our system. Then it said we are changing this in three days. Finally it stated no refunds. Now what? No you have a usless box because it can not use the radio stations.
