ALMOST EVERY FEATURE IS OPTIONAL 65536 x 65536px cloud layer detail (always sharp). All-new semi-procedural auroras for Kerbin, Duna, Eve, Laythe, and Jool. Realistic Jool with 7 different 8K texture layers. Snow on Kerbin, Duna, and Laythe's poles. Added lightning to Kerbin, Duna, and Laythe (pictures by Estron). Space-Engine-ish HD lens flares (download the updated version here). Taller realistic sandstorms on Duna. Blue-Green Nebula and FTL's Purple Nebula Skyboxes. Go inside the Sun (Sunshine) or turn inside of the sun into a wormhole. Interstellar music replacement which plays both in space and atmo, shuffled. More advanced atmospheric scattering. City lights greatly improved - Kerbin is now populated much more realistically. No more black clouds on either pole of any body that has them - all cloud textures were remade. Many more features which I don't want to spoil. Really - there's a lot of stuff. The pack now contains low, mid, and high resolution textures to choose from. People who experienced crashes should no longer. Now everyone should be able to run it (and with some mods too)! Updated Features: Updated the Lens Flare to the one you see in my screenshots. Added two optional Holiday Season City Lights. Eve has denser cloud cover on lower three layers. Jool's cloud layers have been slowed down to realistic velocities. Improved lightning hue (made it brighter and less blue). Added lightning to Eve. Copied my breathing sound to core mod. Fixes: Reformatted all B/W textures from RGB to Greyscale (but some already were). Fixed TextureReplacer link and added a link to the Forum Thread. Improved/added some instructions. Removed the Sony Vegas file that was created when I edited the breathing sound. Some of the installation process has been altered. Removed Features: Removed skyboxes I made. There is now a link to download them separately. Removed Main Menu Logo (89MB). It's still available in the original release. LICENSE You may share any cfg you want as long as it is modified. Preferably so as to make it compatible with a mod (ex: RSS). REDDIT POST This thread is the place to post screenshots, discuss the new features, and report/fix any issues. EVE-specific issues may have already been resolved on the EVE Forum Thread. It seems people are having texture bugs with AlternativeTextureLoader. I would stay away from it for now.

I'll post the album here in a bit - still adding images and gifs. -

I've fixed this (at least it works for me) in Interstellar. Speaking of which... it's ready to go any second. When would you guys like me to release it? -

I have since calculated the reasonable aurora altitude for each body that has them. -
Procedural auroras. Tomorrow.

Banned for not banning due to timing reasons.

Banned for not being presidential enough. Unbanned for having Poland into space. Banned for painting celestial objects to mark them as your own.

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements

No, the resolution is the same. The trick is not in what information is there, but what information is perceivable. Color creates separation that alpha cannot. Thus I have lowered alpha by bringing the exposure down. At a low resolution, pixelization lowers the number of light levels in a gradient. Lowering the difference in brightness value between each neighboring pixel makes the gradient appear smoother, without changing any rbg ratios that would bring that same detail to the image. Besides, at this distance the smaller part of the lens flare is just more than half its actual size. -

This is the closest you can get to procedural auroras. They are not truly procedural, but you will never see the same feature twice or with the same color. -
The camera stays fixed to the kerbal's head, always pointing forward. Looking around does not unshackle the camera (or the kerbal's neck).
-
That was merely concept-art. I have attempted to turn it into an actual in-game texture, but only to find out that higher resolutions don't work.

Since the original mod is no longer available for download, by popular demand I have used the source code files provided to make this mod 0.25-ready. All credit goes to FlaccidUnicorn. ENTER EVA CAMERA: Press - and = keys, or by right-clicking on Kerbal and pressing Activate Camera. LOOK AROUND: Right-Click and drag (view re-centers on release of right mouse button). ZOOM: Scroll the Mouse Wheel or Numpad + and - keys. EXIT EVA CAMERA: Press V to change to standard flight cameras. The setting EVA_ROTATE_ON_MOVE = False in setting.cfg will allow you to pitch with your mouse and keep that orientation when you use WASD to translate. Chatterer's breathing sounds (customizable) increase immersion and go well with this mod. Watch your step. SOURCE CODE LICENSE GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 (same as the original mod) FlaccidUnicorn took the zoomable camera class from Albert VDS's Mechjeb hullcam fork, applied the tricks he saw used to answer this question in the Unity forums for click-and-drag camera manipulation, adapted Fel's solution for building the Vanguard parachutes into Kerbals on EVA, and benefited greatly from Forum Helper's pro tip that let him compile the project from the command line on Windows. If FlaccidUnicorn or someone else skilled wants to make an update the mod, I would be happy to pass on the torch to them. I am not the most qualified person to do so myself to say the least, but no one else seemed interested in maintaining this mod. I've attempted making a high-res EVA helmet, only to find out that higher resolutions don't work.

10/10 - Want to redo my pics again. -
I'll do it. Let's bring this mod out of cryo.

It's one of two wormholes that are a part of the FTL nebula skybox. Applying it as a rotating layer over the sun doesn't work as the layer glitches out at large sizes. You can still enter the wormhole inside the sun though. -
