  1. KaC Mission 3.1: Survey and TD-12 Decoupler test This is a tricky contract. Pilot-1 must take a report several miles to the south, land in the water and test a new decoupler. I don't know why they wanted to test it in the water, but they're paying us for it so who cares. What the hell are you doing Pilot-1? Do you even know how to fly? You failed your primary objective Pilot-1, you're fired! Financial Statement Starting Funds: $104,371 Advances: $6,684 & $4,860 Costs: -$5,172 R&D Costs: AV-T1 Winglet -$1,500 R&D Costs: Mk2-R Parachute -$2,800 R&D Costs: LV-T45 “Swivel” engine -$3,500 Completion Awards: $12,398 & $12,757 Extras: 1.6 Science Recovery Reimbursement: $4,920 Final Funds: $120,620 Mission Notes: Technically there was no way to complete the main objective and the secondary objective was complete, so maybe Pilot-1 shouldn’t be fired.
  2. Mission 2.1: Test LV-T45 “Swivel” Landed at Kerbin This is a bit more complicated than our last contract. The Pilot needs to launch, activate the parachute, then use the engine to slow down further. If the Pilot fails to slow down enough, that will damage the engine... And he'll be fired... Here it comes... Decent work Pilot-1, but that final burn could have been more efficient. The fuel you wasted is coming out of your paycheck. Financial Statement Starting Funds: $100,156 Advances: $1,500 Costs: -$3,272 R&D Costs: FL-T100 Fuel Tank: -$1,200 Completion Awards: $3,937 Extras: 2.9 Science Recovery Reimbursement: $3,250 Final Funds: $104,371 Mission Notes: Liquid fuel is expensive.
  3. Mission 1.1: Launch Your First Vessel There is almost no way Pilot-1 can screw this up. Just push the Big Red Button and steer the vessel eastward. That's Northeast Pilot. Seriously? How hard is it to point the joystick at the big letter E? Well he at least managed to active the parachute and save the equipment. Adequate job Pilot-1, you aren't fired yet. Financial Statement Starting Funds: $21,768 Advances: $1,008 Costs: -$3,822 R&D Costs: Thermometer -$2,500 Completion Awards: $1,872 Extras: 36 Science Recovery Reimbursement: $3,638 Final Funds: $100,156 Mission Notes: Our Calculations say we should have $21,964… Where did the other $78,192 come from? Obviously that was donations and are completely tax deductible. Dear linuxgurugamer, We here at 'Kerbals are Cheap' are not murders. Of course we take the safety of our pilots very seriously. We simply take the safety of the expensive components more seriously. Sincerely, The Director of KaC Public Relations
  4. Kerbals are Cheap: Settings: Career Mode, Moderate difficulty. Personal Rules: All Flights are final. Can not Revert Flight. Kerbals are Cheap Mission Statment: We here at ‘Kerbals are Cheap’ understand that Space Exploration Technology is expensive and life is cheap. Our goal is to make as much money as possible using the lowest cost parts and to return said parts home with as much usability as possible. We will always consider the equipment to be worth more than the staff. 5. Oh... I dont think they can get home... at least not plot-wise.
  6. Will probaly do a reset, but keep the kerbals in the same spot.... but National novel writing month starts Nov 1, so I don't know if I'll have time.
  7. SRAS Beginnings 22: That’s Better Seriously, Does anyone no how to fix the altimeter problem, also nothing is in a "Stable" orbit. I have no mods installed.
  8. What!?! I can't just restart?... somebody lied to me.
  9. So... reason for absence is that my son was born and sleep is now a myth. I need like, 2 hours of gameplay to finish the next chapter.
  10. SRAS Beginnings 19: Return of Aries Demon Note: There was a gap where I didn't have time to play KSP. When I got back I detached the Ike lander so it would crash into Ike and made my way to the DSA station around Duna. Just after saving I realized that Kaioti and Tyler were still in the lander. I had to find the files, reactivate them, cheat them back to the Aries, and continue the story. Tyler lost all his SAS modes so the whole mission was done with just the basic SAS. Despite all that, it went without a hitch.
  11. There is an incoming vessel with a duna lander attached that technically launched years after the kerbals, but you know, speed of plot. Also. The like button is gone and I can't give anyone a thumbs up... what?
  12. SRAS Beginnings 17: I like Ike Note: The DSA and SRAS Beginnings are now tied for chapters.
  13. @fulgur I was all for the SSTOs, then I think I watched too many Everyday Astronaut and Scott Manley videos. Suddenly straight up rockets were cooler? IDK Side note. I work at a distribution company and send parts to SpaceX and Blue Origin all the time. I have mixed feelings about writing on a smart phone, but doing something mildly productive vs. nothing at all is kind of a no brain-er.
  14. SRAS Beginnings 16: Duna Prep Demon's Notes: So this took a while. On top of the countless, design, test, redesign thing I had to do for this mission. My wife no longer works mornings so my free time went from ~3 hours to ~1hour. on a side note, I finally upgraded to a smart phone, so I've managed to write 15% of a novel, on a story I hadn't planed on writing, while serving pillow duty.
