I think dres is better, because it's quite a bit easier than moho.- 32 replies

The little lander challenge: Complete
Space Nerd replied to a topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Can I resubmit my mun lander for the last run after doing a biome hop with it? Because I'm starting to think I don't have enough time to finish my laythe mission before the deadline. p.s. My rocket above used making history parts, is that ok? -
totm january 2020 Community Caveman Jool 5 mission
Space Nerd replied to ManEatingApe's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I'm not that good at KSP, in fact I haven't tried the caveman challenge yet! -

Also, landed and splashed in the same biome counted as different situations, so is that counted as "different biomes"? Because they're treated like two biomes. (you can for example get all science from the land in "shores" biome then go to the ocean in the same biome and get new science points) (I hope I'm not wrong about this) The question is whether or not I can just get science from land and ocean in the same biome. -
I'll just drop this one here:

I second this.

I moved from the GPP one to draw something different: A JNSQ planetball! (The back ground is based on @Poodmund's calm nebula skybox.) (Don't worry, the GPP one will be finished eventually, though that will take a lot of time.) Can you find all the easter eggs in the drawing?

But my rocket has 1.25 m side boosters. -

Is a 2.5 m rocket with 1.25 m boosters considered "huge"? Or I need to post a photo? -

The little lander challenge: Complete
Space Nerd replied to a topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Only the gas giant can have a separate lander? I thought of building 2 landers for tylo and laythe since I can have 2 spacecrafts. (All attached to a transfer stage, so there's no mothership) (This is probably not allowed but I want to be sure) -

I thought laythe has 90 points. -

I guess I have to scrap this idea, as building a cheap tylo lander that can carry the laythe lander and the transfer stage is too hard. -

Nice/10 -
When you started to make KSP merch. I made a Jeb puppet, badges, paper/clay planet models, paper models of a rocket (can be staged!) and a single stage spaceplane construted from paper models of KSP parts.

Sorry for a reply after quite a while, but my real question is why the dv to launch from JNSQ Eve is less than that of stock Eve despite JNSQ Eve has higher orbital velocity and thicker atmosphere? (Lower gravity and shorter atmosphere?)
-
I have 174 h from steam, my total hours is probably 2~3 times of that. Because I went to another planet/moon as soon as my mission to the previous one is done, I have returned from every planet/moon except Eve since I bought the game last July. I also have a working Eve ascender, sent a craft that has way too much dv to Ovok, Eeloo, Tekto and bounced off the surface of Hale (all are from OPM) in the same mission (used hyperedit to return because I couldn't get a Kerbin encounter), sent a probe to the Valetine system (just to a high orbit using NF propulsion Lithium plasma engines), built a space station, done a Jool-5, have several working SSTOs (one variant can do a Mun flyby), and built a plane powered by drain valves and sent it to the island airfield from KSC in 1.9.0 now (I did a lot of things), but I am still bad at building planes (can't land one without lots of parachutes), and yet to build a long range SSTO, tryout ISRU, build a surface base, return from Eve (I have sent a probe there but I can't get my lander to not explode after seperating heat shields), make a Jool ascender (I don't want to send a probe there because it will be destroyed), make something powered by propellers, and send missions to OPM planets or exoplanets. (Sorry for a long post)

Am I the only one who thinks the NX-10 looks like starship enterprise from star trek?
-
As I said above, this is for a fan art, so I think I will still draw a craft saying "Curse you Tylo!", because I think it's still easy to have your orbit messed up by JNSQ Tylo.

This is now my new favorite KSP screenshot! -
I know that, but I imagine a duna sized moon (tylo) can still change the orbit by quite a lot. So both laythe and tylo can eject your craft? (Or tylo can't anymore?) Somehow the grey sky makes laythe look even cooler!
-
I am currently making a jnsq planetball fan art, and I want to add a accidentally ejected craft, is tylo massive enough to do that, or I have to eject the craft with laythe instead?
