The story: The KSP is in debt because of the crash of the most expensive rocket ever made. To make up for the lost funds, KSP accepted a contract to gather a surface sample from Laythe. But since the KSP is in debt, the mission must not waste any money. Thus the rocket has to be made with 0 funds or less. This seems impossible since fuel cost money and you can't go anyway without fuel. But impossible is not a thing at KSC. So its up to you to save KSP! modes: easy: Do a flyby of Laythe for (or less than) 0 funds. medium: land on Laythe and get a surface sample, all for 0 funds or less. Hard: land on Laythe and get 100 or more science, for 0 funds or less. Super: Impress @Vanamonde (and me!) Rules: not allowed: Docking and getting fuel and other resources from other ships/bases Landing in the sea Landing at other planets except Kerbin(you may enter orbit) Killing any kerbal using cheats (obviously!) using deployed science from the DLC (other parts allowed) using ion engines restoring science (except from the lab) Apollo stye (leaving something in orbit while landing a lander) Flag: needs some refining:

Parachute not deploying

If you entered kerbin right from the mun without going into kerbin orbit first, you could be entering at a fast speed. I don't know how you got pass reentry without burning up since two crew cabins plus a mk 1 command pod always blow up. If you have fuel, try entering kerbin orbit first. Then slowly burn your engine (pointed retrograde) just so that your craft drops below 70 km. Then just wait as your craft reenters (you might need to wait for an orbit or two before it clears reentry. Then you should be slow enought to slow down. I tested your craft and if you dive straight into the kerbin from the mun with no burns, well I burned up during reentry so I have no idea how you survived that. I turned on the ignore max temp cheat and tried again. It was coming in really fast. You will need to slow down a lot. Try adding the radical parachutes on the pod and the the crew cabins as well -

A new way to rescue kerbals?
Cant think of a username replied to Cant think of a username's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yea true. I sort of wanted to try and land both parts, so I launched a heat shield instead of a extra seat when I could have. It was fun. I had to try a lot of times since the AGU kept missing. Anyone else tried this? -
You know those contracts that ask you to rescue some random kerbal in orbit? I love those since you get an extra free kerbal. The classic way is to just your ship close to it and then have the kerbal EVA onto your ship. That works fine. But I suck at using the jetpack and i can't control it. Ever since I unlocked the AGU and started with asteroid missions, I had this idea to use the AGU to grab the stranded kerbal's ship and then do a crew transfer. Now 1 (actual) year later, I decided to make the plan work. I was completing one of those grab-an-astroid-and-land-it-on-kerbin contracts. The way I do it is to use the engine of the grabber ship to fire at the asteroid and make it reenter by it self and "land". The grabber ship is still in orbit and I was planning on getting it back to Kerbin when I saw the rescue contract. So used asteroid ship and got it close to the stranded kerbal. Then I pointed the ship in the right way and used the claw to grab the stranded kerbal's ship. Then I tried to do a crew transfer, but then I realized that I didn't carry an extra cockpit, so I launched another rocket, but this one did not carry an extra seat, but a monster heat shield and some extra parachutes. I attracted the the heat shield and parachutes to the first craft using another AGU. then burned retrograde But since I sort of chipped the heat shield into the bottom of the engine, I couldn't stage it. So I ended up reentry with extra parts. After I deployed the parachutes, I tried to jettison the heat shield, but since it chipped into the engine, it didn't move. So I land pretty hard and destroyed the heat shield, but hey, I had the engine and the rescued kerbal.

This looks like it, but the color is not right:

There is no easter egg flag. You probably planted it. If you forgot to save it, it is gone for good.

After ten in game years, I finally hauled a class E asteroid into Kerbin. I had to refuel using other crafts form nearby planets. I had to use my Dres base, my Duna base, and my Minmus base. I don't know if you can mine asteroids? I noticed that it said (ore: -----%). So how would I mine it? I mean I cant land on it. So how do I deploy a drill? I have a dozen probes around a the asteroid already.
