I will be using this for a future WW2-esque warfare series pretty much like Fall of Kerbin. This is what the world looks like after the Great War. Probably the best i've been at storytelling. I usually suck at storytelling. Then again i pulled some elements straight outta Lovecraft. Especially with my version of the Kraken. The Kraken has become Cthulhu. Might return to this series at some point in the future idk It's been a great run.

THE K FILES FINALE VOLUME 5: HOW IT ALL ENDS You find an access tunnel, hidden within a natural cave a kilometer off the main road. You can enter it easily without needing something like a keycard. The door is already wide open. You enter some kind of lobby, there is a seal on the wall that belongs to the Kerbin Intelligence Agency, you realize that you're entering a top secret site. But that doesn't matter now. You follow a trail that leads from the cave entrance towards to the depths of the site. There's no one here, strangely. Possibly evacuated to somewhere else. You hope that they are alive and well, especially when a colossal statue and dozens of strange creatures with octopus heads invade from some other dimension. The Elevator is still up, so you take it to floor B1: Database and Supercomputers. You pass through several with supercomputers in them, but they have been deactivated. The door leading to the rooms are locked. The trail leads to an office branching off from the main hall. The door is still open, so you enter it easily. Inside the office there is desk with a computer on top of it. You decide to take a seat and turn it on. KIAUEIU DATABASE TERMINAL Full Access Granted. Per aspera ad astra. Loading... Loading... The year is now 2150. A new space race has begun, this time to reach the nearest star in a Kerbal lifetime. Along with a new cold war between Kerbin and Duna. Kerbin is controlled by the United Nations of Kerbin, it is a overpopulated, ecologically strained world. Sea level rise and global warming has caused a ecological catastrophe, forcing most nations to turn to the UNK for help, ultimately leading to the UNK controlling all of Kerbin itself. Duna is an independent power, it is controlled by the Confederacy of Duna. It was settled by many of Kerbin's best scientists and engineers, after it's colonies became fully self sufficient, it began vying for full independence. Which the UNK accepted. It has the ultimate goal of terraforming the red planet. Chapter 1: The Impossible Drive This news is what captured his attention. The idea of traveling faster than light itself. The idea has been prominent throughout science fiction for more than a century. He never knew this day would come in the first place. It was accompanied by the national anthem of the United Nations of Kerbin. Later, the voice of Joseph Steele, the leader of the UNK delivered a message to his own people on live television stating: "Citizens of Kerbin, today is a new day. The last decade our fellow scientists have been developing the so called "Impossible Drive", which actually exploited several existing phenomena. It is no longer impossible to surpass light itself. Initially conceived by physicists Dr. Michael Alkubb and Dr. Harald Bright half a decade ago, it was met with skepticism from fellow colleagues saying it was a mere "childish fantasy" and "a dream which will never come true". They were wrong. It caught our attention, we were fascinated by the idea of a FTL drive especially during the height of the second space race between us and Duna to the nearest star of Proxima Kentauri, we were skeptical at first, but we decided to fund their project. Eventually the technology was invented 2 years ago. We began to build a FTL-capable spacecraft which we named "Voyager", construction has been completed. Now only the crew is missing. 8 PM West Jebistan Time/WJT this Monday is when the crew will be launched towards the Tycho orbital shipyard, which is where the spacecraft is docked, aboard a Condor-class SSTO. So stay tuned. This is Joseph Steele, signing off." The words "Serve the UNK, Serve the common good" appeared on the screen afterwards. "That's already a game over for Duna." said James afterwards. The Dunaeans have been constructing a massive Daedalus spacecraft for the last 3 years named "Supremacy". James felt sympathetic to Dunaeans because their spacecraft took a lot of effort to build. Especially when your rival built a small FTL spacecraft in only a few weeks compared to your massive slower than light spacecraft which took 3 years to build and fuel it. 8 hours later, James began watching live feed of the launch. This launch will be one that makes history. The first time Kerbals travel faster the speed of light. The countdown began. "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0 and bon voyage!" After some time they eventually rendezvoused with the shipyard. The Condor then docked with the shipyard, the astronauts then were transferred to Voyager. Followed by several system checks. After final checks were made, the Voyager undocked with the shipyard. The ship then rapidly accelerated away from the shipyard. It was time to fire up the drive. For a split second a "bubble" briefly appeared around the ship followed by the ship vanishing from view. Kerbin has won the second space race to Proxima Kentauri. No one expected them to considering Duna has the technological advantage over Kerbin. By the time the Voyager was launched, the Supremacy was in the middle of the months long acceleration burn. By the time the crew arrived at their destination, it has been colonized and Duna has long accepted defeat. How unfortunate. Meanwhile, weeks after it was launched, Voyager returned with it's precious data. A new era of exploration has begun. It was time to exit the Kerbol system and cross the vast interstellar medium. James would later join the UNK marine corps.

REMEMBER WHEN I SAID THIS SERIES WAS ENDING RIGHT AT VOLUME 4 RIGHT???? I finally had a idea. Time to give it one last volume.

THE K FILES VOLUME 4: THE TOMB OF THE GODS TOP SECRET UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OF THIS FILE WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION BY KIA PERSONNEL (KIAUEIU) KERBIN INTELLIGENCE AGENCY UNUSUAL EVENTS INVESTIGATION UNIT REPORT ON CLASSIFIED UNDERWATER EXPEDITION TO UNDERWATER ANOMALOUS SITE Expedition Profile Official Designation: Atlantis Explorers: ████ "Aquaphobic" ███████, ███ "Diver" █████ Expedition Location: Crater Ocean, Kam'nui Republic Start Date: ██/ ██/2082 End Date: ██/ ██/2082 File Contents Background Findings Epilogue 1. Background Recently the discovery of what appears to be an massive underwater city hidden under the waves of Crater Sea has prompted the agency to launch a underwater expedition using submarines to discover it's ancient secret and possible origin. 2. Findings The site is composed of buildings whose architecture appears to not resemble traditional Kam'nuian architecture but rather traditional Athenkosian architecture, these structures appear to be made of a dark green stone. As one of the explorers approached one of the structures in the site using a submarine, they noticed what appeared to be hieroglyphs printed into the dark green walls of the structure. Upon closer analysis, these hieroglyphs appear to show Kerbals praying to a gigantic mysterious squid like creature, later identified as the Kraken. The explorers then exited their submarines and entered a large Athenkosian pantheon, surviving the crushing pressures of the deep sea using atmospheric diving suits (ADSs) communications are cut during this time. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS COLLECTED VIA AN INTERVIEW WITH THE EXPLORERS As they entered the pantheon, they were greeted by a enormous rounded room made of the same green stone with a hole at it's top. In front of them was a large tomb in the middle of the room and what appeared to be a staff attached to it. Both of them began reporting auditory hallucinations in the form of multiple voices inside their head saying "He knows all" "He will set you free" "He will always come back" and "He's never truly gone" repeatedly. They felt anxious but they remained calm in this situation. One of the explorers grabbed the staff and knocked the tomb with it, ultimately leading to the tomb opening. As the tomb opened, black smoke began "shooting out" and the entire site began to tremble. Unknowingly the entire city began to be uplifted from the sea floor by an unknown force. Inside the pantheon, the explorers were downlifted into the floor and as the city was above sea level, the waters rapidly drained. The explorers stood up and noticed that the black smoke had stopped "shooting out" of the coffin and the voices that they have been hearing had stopped. They later exited the pantheon and begin to step into the now dry sea floor. They later saw a massive entity at the horizon walking towards them, a completely featureless anthropoid statue. The entity later stopped near them, and sent a message telepathically that congratulated them for allowing it to enter our reality and later turned around to escape the city. They realized that the entity they were facing was the Kraken, itself. One of the explorers, who was holding the staff, suddenly knew how to re-contain the Kraken, bring the coffin out, say the words "Edhwyrfan toward ð¯ær and there êow lengan" while holding the staff to complete the re-containment process, which he later told ████. They decided bring the coffin out and said the words. As if some invisible force was dragging it, the entity was rapidly pulled towards the coffin and once in arm's reach, it's "life force was sucked out". After it's "life force was sucked out", the coffin closed itself and the now lifeless statue collapsed dead. The entire city began to sink back into the sea, but luckily the explorers had re-entered their respective submarines, which were lying outside the pantheon. As the sea reclaimed the city, the submarines went back to the surface to officially end the expedition. 3. Epilogue Following the expedition and learning about the true danger of bringing the Kraken to our reality, the agency had began cracking down on kraken-related cults, especially the Cult of the Reawakening, which faced more frequent raids by the agency.
