  1. Hmmmmm... :stirpot: I think that if someone breaks the rule, they should get a fair trial heard by a jury consisting of their peers on this board. Can we have a new category called 'The Kerbal Court'? I volunteer my 15 years of legal experience to defending my fellow board members against unjust banning. And does it have to be a ban? Can\'t you have a 'Kerbal Department of Corrections' section where all the offenders are kept for a period of time while they rehabilitate? Guest speakers could be hired to post on an array of topics concerning online etiquette and privacy issues. And then when they get out, and then re-offend, then the 'two strike' rule is applied and they are sent to the 'Purgatory' section for a few months. And then, if the come back to the normal board and are convicted of offending one last time, they get a perma-ban.
  2. Sweet! I look forward to trying this out on my own. Speaking of the BigTrack - is there a way I can get a Munolith detector thingy on it (the small one) without taking the whole ship apart? I still haven\'t found any, and would love to send Cuttlefish landers to various spots I\'m honing in on.
  3. I had a chance to download and play with this last night. Lots of fun. One thing, though - the hydraulic cylinder - I keep wanting to flip it over. I changed my entire design and got around it, but if it was possible to 'flip' the orientation someway, it would open a lot of doors. If there\'s a way to do it via cfg, then I would be happy to do that. I tried horking around with it last night but couldn\'t figure it out.
  4. What if we put the conversation in a 'spoiler' and preface it with 'don\'t read this unless you\'re so and so.' (so and so being the person I was having a conversation with)? Or, if I get their permission to just share it with a handful of people on the board, then I could add a list of different names to the spoiler preface.
  5. Someone needs to make a MethJeb plug-in.
  6. Another practical exercise would be to put in Latitude and Longitude lines. If that could be done, I might stand a chance at finding a Munolith sometime in the next decade.
  7. Well, I would be interested whether anyone could put a Death Star together using parts launched into orbit. And then hooked together. I bet it could be done in under 10,000 individual parts.
  8. It should be possible, but I\'m not very smart so I\'d never get it done. Maybe someone else, though...
  9. First, news article: Second, it would be fun to be able to explore other objects in space, but so far everyone mentions adding new planets. Why not add asteroids that orbit the Sun and we can land on them. creative add ons would come where you could mine the asteroid.. And perhaps sell the loot to buy new parts for your ship (if money ever has a role in the game). Plus, as there would be a lot of asteroids to explore, there would be a lot of places to put easter eggs.
  10. +1 I\'d even be thrilled with being able to generate a map noting where / when the large Muon detector is red, green, or off. That is, a red mark gets drawn then the light is red, green line when green, and nothing when off.
  11. I\'d give it a go if I had even the slightest clue what to do to make a custom part.
  12. Thrust vectoring means you are able to increase engine power and decrease it. It\'s like a gas pedal. It\'s different than Solid Rocket Boosters which just run at full strength until they run out of gas. Gimble rating is referring to how much the part of the rocket that spits out fire can move around. The more Gimble, the more control your rockets have during flight maneuvers and landing. Of course, too much Gimble, you can oversteer and wind up losing control and crashing.
  13. Very cool! Thank you - this is a big help. On a different note, have you ever thought about how if the theory about multiple universes is true, then there could very well be a universe somewhere / sometime when those little green guys (Kerbins?) are real and flying in real spaceships exactly like the ones we\'ve put together, but they are the ones playing a game of controlling us typing on our keyboards? And in at least one instance, that little girl from the Exorcist is riding on the back of the rocket with her head spinning around really fast while vomiting pea soup?
  14. I\'m really lousy at this game and either always crashing or getting overly excited and jettison my rockets instead of trying to start them or slow them down. There\'s all sorts of junk just floating around out there and I\'d like it make it go away. It makes me very sad to always look way out there and see one of my green men floating off into the infinite darkness and there\'s nothing I can do to help him. (someone else probably could, but not me - I\'m a moron and would only kill more Kerbals). Anyway - I have managed to put two crafts in flight around the moon. I want to keep those. Everything else - I want it to evaporate. Poof - gone. Is it possible to do so?
  15. I love this design. What parts did you use to make the small fuel tanks connect horizontally, and then the engine attach to the tip of the horizontal tanks, but point straight down? I\'ve been looking for the past hour to see if I could find the parts on this site - no luck. Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated!
