See the first post on page 1. The key of the letter you press is somewhere in that post. -

I have looked at the second post of this thread. Which directs me to another thread. That then directs me to two other threads. Which then references various plug-ins. I spent an entire Saturday trying to get through all the nonsense and still never achieved getting a foldable solar panel that recharged a battery which powered an engine. If anyone, save the folks who actually developed one of the 27 different mods that it seems to take to get such functionality, is able to create a working space craft that has folding solar panels that charge a battery which powers an engine, and post that craft within the next 24 hours, I\'ll eat my hat. However, as each time one tries to actually put together a craft by following all the 'see page 2' instructions at every until they eventually realize it\'s all just going in one great big circle to nowhere, I\'m not too worried about losing my hat. 'Go left one block, then go two blocks and make another left, then go one block and make another left, and then go two blocks and make a left... and then you\'ll have folding solar panels that charge a battery which powers an engine. Trust me... ' -

So, is it possible to have the folding solar panels actually re-charge something, or are they just for looks? I keep having this crazy idea of adding folding solar panels to a battery, which then powers an engine... but from what I can tell, not one pack or plug-in has combined all three. Folding solar panels that charge a battery, which powers engine. Or at least has done so in a way that uses multiple packs and plug-ins, and the steps for implementing are straightforward and repeatable. -
[PLUGIN, PART, 0.17] Bigtrak KSP Edition v.30 Liltrak
noneyabidnis replied to chickenplucker's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I love how fast it looks like you\'re going because he\'s so low to the ground. I think I have to adjust node properties in CFG to allow side boosters - I will give it a shot. And then figure out how I can make a part super small. Surely it can\'t be that tough. -

I would use WebEx conferencing software to record my screen, but that\'s all hosted at work and I\'d probably get a 'don\'t do that again' talk. There are plenty of other video makers here - I\'m sure the next few weeks are going to be very, very entertaining. -

Is there a way to record video in KSP? Or do I need 3rd party software? Evil Kernibal is doing so wicked tricks on the moon. Cruise along at 30m /s and then while driving forward, hold down the s key - does one back flip and lands it = keep holding and it pops him way up. I also just jumped across a huge crater. I love this thing!!!!! -

Wow - Kiwi Cycle is awesome! It even lets you do tricks with it! (Try a wheelie at 45 m/s - keep holding down the i key and press s key for a second). I can\'t wait to get it to the moon. I haven\'t been this excited about a game since GTA Vica City came out and they had motorcycles. I wonder if I can scale down a couple of solid rocket boosters and strap them on the side. I see a lot of challenges emerging from this. For instance, I wonder how many rockets I can jump over on the moon? Evil Kernibal !! Thank you, by the way. This is a lot of fun. And will no doubt become legendary. -
KSP Orbit Mechanic 1.2a: Optimize Your Orbits
noneyabidnis replied to WX_Echo's topic in KSP1 Tools and Applications
I\'m starting to gain a better understanding of the transfer orbit mechanisms, but have one question. The 'Bi-elliptic transfer' is supposed to be more efficient than all others for a Kerbin / Mun transfer, but wouldn\'t a properly timed Hohmann transfer be more efficient, in terms of landing on the Mun? With the Bi-elliptic transfer, it seems like the first step is to generate a very long elliptical orbit that shoots out waaay past the moon. Or is it that the Bi-elliptic transfer is more efficient if you actually want to build a circular orbit at 11,400 KM? -
Best Rocketry and/or Spacecraft documentary

I watched all of 'Moon Machines' this week - you are very correct - it was excellent. It\'s hard to imagine how exciting those times must have been to live in. -
I had one last night where I became stuck in 2D, and everything around me was 3D. It\'s one of the most bizarre dreams I\'ve ever had. It\'s hard to even explain. Sound and light characteristics changed dramatically. If I was the creative type, I\'d make a sketch of it. Unfortunately, though, I have the artistic talent of a chimpanzee.

[0.17] Electrical Energy Plugin | v1.5 (Oct 12)
noneyabidnis replied to Kreuzung's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I\'m probably doing it wrong, but I can\'t seem to get animated panels to recharge a battery. I can figure out how to get non-animated panels to recharge batteries, but no go for animated. -

[14.2] Super light weight Mun return, Thanks Kosmo-not!
noneyabidnis replied to sjwt's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Ahh ha - I just noticed your pictures with the rocket laying on its side on the moon, and the fuel level remaining. Makes perfect sense (light bulb moment!). Thank you so much! -
[14.2] Super light weight Mun return, Thanks Kosmo-not!
noneyabidnis replied to sjwt's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Ahhh. I get it, I think... So, that center tank under the CM - it\'s not still completely full when you decide to eject the outer stages, correct? Btw, I\'ve downloaded the craft and am going to spend some time playing with the fuel line config so I ensure I understand the advantages of one config vs another. -
Is the rocket you used for that available for download? I\'ve been starting to use true stock parts instead of tweaked ones that has made it a bit easier to play, and the craft you used looks perfect to use for practice.

[14.2] Super light weight Mun return, Thanks Kosmo-not!
noneyabidnis replied to sjwt's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here is the craft file, I\'ve named it the Insanity, for obvious reasons ??? Use at your own risk, this WILL kill your Kerbonauts if you aren\'t very careful. I\'ve been trying to understand fuel line strategy, and noticed that you changed the fuel line arrangement in your craft vs the original. Can you explain why? -
[0.17] Electrical Energy Plugin | v1.5 (Oct 12)
noneyabidnis replied to Kreuzung's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
There are so many different threads about energy - I\'m late to the game and having a hard time figuring out what I need in order to do what I want. In essence, I want to attach animated solar panels (like the Noyuz panels, for example) to a fuel tank (any fuel tank that works) and power an engine (any engine). I\'ve been able to use DSM battery, ion engine, and get non-animated solar panels to work with that. Now I\'m trying to figure out how to get animated panels work. Any help for my feeble mind is greatly appreciated. -
