Does this mod work for any new versions other than 1.7.3?

No, there is no patch that allows you to remove the fuels so it works with the stock system. This mod is meant for the JNSQ planet pack and rescale; however, this still works in the stock game but it will kind of be OP. To make it more stock accessible just remove certain amount of fuels in the tanks to get the amount of ∆v you are looking for.

I've heard that the pods will appear black if there isn't any ablator on them. I think it is because there is a glitch where since there is no ablator, when exiting the atmosphere and there is heat, the game thinks the craft blew up causing it to be black. This isn't a sure fire thing but that is my guess.

I believe its a restock bug since I can't find any history of the bug occurring in stock KSP before. I'll do some testing.

Screenshot from inside VAB I'm new to KSP forums so I'm still figuring out how to upload images but here is a screenshot of what I am talking about. You can see that the part where the silver fairing is covering the engine you can't see the engine but when the fairing is not covering you can see the engine. I also did some more testing and realized that almost anything that is behind a gold or silver fairing appears invisible when you mouse over it.

I noticed that when using the new poodle single bell variant, it becomes invisible when you put your mouse over a gold and silver fairing that contains the engine. Nvm, all engines are invisible when a gold or silver fairing is over it.

Whenever I stage a engine I'm noticing a quick burst of thrust then it stops for like 0.50 seconds and then it resumes, is that supposed to happen?

What about fairings and magnometers?
