America: 1946
AmericanRocketryRambler replied to AmericanRocketryRambler's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
But wait AmericanRocketryRambler, RSS starts in 1951, not 1946! Look again. It says 1946-01-01. You are not going crazy. As well as this, the controls do not unlock until 1951, so no plane contracts allowed in settings, as well as no downrange trys until 1951. We now begin, starting off with building a small Wac-Corporal from the USAF. Now, we fly the WAC-Corporal, on the 23rd of July, 1946. It soars through the sky, gathering data and transmitting it. Camera results show the first picture taken past 50km, a blurry, black and white, pixelated photo, transmitted over the antenna. Finally, the rocket returns to the ground at supersonic speeds, destroying it, as well as finishing the contract. The launch totals us 2.9 science, as well as giving us 42k funds in total. We now begin research on post-war rocketry testing, as well as materials science. Now, our goal is to pass the Karman line, which we missed by 9km last time. To do this, we develop the Aerobee XASR-1, with a bigger fuel tank, and better sustainer. This, however, will require us to finish our research, so we also accept a Sounding Rockets (Low) contract, which requires us to reach 40 km. Very easy, seeing as we reached 91km our first launch. Now, it is November 25, and we have the WAC Corporal 2 brought out to the launch pad. The WAC 2 Easily breaks 40km, and soars up as high as the first launch did. It falls back to earth bringing us back over 2.7 science! We use the science for early SRB's and guidance systems. Now, after 8 days, we begin development on the Aerobee XASR-1 However, its launch, and all of the launches following it, are for other years, outside of 1946. (This is a sequel to my very unfinished America: 1951, which I lost motivation to do after only 2 years ingame) Prologue: Germany fell. Joint allied and Comintern occupation of Germany. Von Braun and his men were lucky. Why? They got to US forces as opposed to soviet forces. After a year or so, Von Braun was ready to become a rocket scientist again. The twist? He was now an American rocket scientist. The year is now 1946, January first. Now, it is in their hands. Will the soviets win the space race or will the Americans? The worlds fate was in their hands. And thus begins the tale. The tale of America: 1946.

RP-1 Realistic Progression One for KSP 1.12.3
AmericanRocketryRambler replied to pap1723's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I know how to upgrade, but the only thing the upgrade menu talks about is tonnage limits, and I wasn’t sure if it upgraded the rest too. -

also, does the launch pad upgrade let your rocket be bigger? My orbital rocket is 35.3 meters and the cap is 33. -
RP-1 Realistic Progression One for KSP 1.12.3

Looking through technologies and there is a typo for the Skylab Orbital Workshop description, it says peole, but should say people. -
(I am playing a up to date install with both dlcs.) When I go into the VAB I can place a few parts then the game goes broken. The first time I can place down 2 parts, then I select a third part but the snap joints disappear without a trace, so i press down again to drop the part, and then I cant interact with it in any way. I get another part to see if that was just a 1 time glitch, but it turns out no, so I try to throw it away, but it hovers over the first dropped parts and it duplicates again and again, totally breaking all functionality. I cant launch or save or exit, the only thing I can do is make more parts that will inevitably duplicate, so I use alt + F4, and I re-install KSP. The next time it seems to be going ok, until I begin to build the second stage. It then instantly glitches again ( except for the hover duplication glitch) and so I alt + F4 again. What should I do to fix it, if it can be fixed? (IDK how to upload photos so if you who sees this knows how, please do tell)

1952: AHH WHY DOES MY COMPUTER CRASH!!! Liftoff! it is another year, and, a new adventure for the agency. We liftoff with our new rocket, The beetle 1. our main separation. we separate, with the important stuff staying at the top, where the parachute is. aint that beautiful we coast to apoapsis, with a bunch of freshly gained science. we parachute down, and we get SCIENCE GALORE!! with (yet) another rocket on the pad, we launch the ant 1 downrange. we can see the camera on top we start our gravity turn (not shown in picture) and we are going down range... at this rate, it isn't enough though. Well, at least it looks good! We seperate from the main rocket and coast to apoapsis, and fall... and we come down with a nice splash. after coming out with 10 science gained, we look in the r&d section and... we click the non rp-1 parts. The screen goes black, and the unity crash reporter comes out AARGH!!!! well, all i can say is that it is 1953 already, and a short recap... Rockets launched: 2 Successful launches: 1 Failed launches: 0 Partially failed launches: 1 Thats it, and see you in another 2 weeks, in 1953! -

What is the most HORRIBLE way one of your kerbals died
AmericanRocketryRambler replied to 322997am's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i built a Soyuz rocket in RO, and at around 17,000 meters it self destructed. My kerbal jumped out but the parachute wouldn't deploy... he crashed at 200 meters per second. -

America: 1951 [discontinued]
AmericanRocketryRambler replied to AmericanRocketryRambler's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
1951: The start of an agency The start of the agency We start in a world where nothing has been sent to space. Our goal? Beat the Russians (and the actual records) into space. Our first contract? Launch something into the air. Accepting the first launch contract. Our engineers come up with a rocket. It is called the not tiny tim. The true reason for that name is that the agency did not want to get copyright striked by the U.S. Navy and we were mostly inspired by the tiny tim. The not tiny tim. We wait a few months and we end up on the pad. 3, 2, 1... Liftoff!!! The not tiny Tim surges through the sky, Breaking all (none) the records! Liftoff! As it rises through the sky, we start to gain science.(around 0.3) The director says," we wanted to get at least 1 science, but this is still fine..." Apoapsis We fall down, and then they check their funds... at least a few couple hundred more. We are getting dangerously close to the ground... BAM!! we also see that the lawnmowers have been on break... unacceptable. now we will try to cross the Karman line Our engineers make another rocket; the not wac corporal.(hey, it has different colors!) The end result We wait for the rocket to be built and a few months later, we return to the launch pad... 3, 2, 1, LIFTOFF!! We lift from the ground, yet again, this time however in a cloud of smoke and encased in fire... booster seperation We fly through the air, and our science is booming (at least it will be by the end) well isn't that beautiful! We reach our apoapsis, and fall... we hit the water with a quiet "splash" We now have 5.1 science... what to spend it on? we have started research on a few techs. Now, to reach space... We get some upgrades our end product We end up this... it looks fashionable... (hey, we used a original name!) It is a copy of the not wac corporal, with a better engine and a different fuel mix. (we warp a bit to get our tech done) we sadly launched in the dark. We end up looking at our science gain, which is none. We sadly accepted a contract that took all of our science(i forgot to turn on our experiments) Because of this tragedy, we need a rocket to go to space and back... or go bankrupt. the top of the rocket is the return capsule. We start to make this rocket to get us to space and back... well, its now 1952! science and upgrades. Well, its the end of 1951! see you next time! -
