TWR of 1.0 might - and that's a pretty strong MIGHT - get you off the launchpad.  Maybe.  And just barely.  And will waste a whole lot of fuel to do so.

The biggest detriment to this challenge, apart from having zero rules other than TWR to the Mun and back, is that the stock game doesn't display TWR in any fashion.  You need a mod like Micro-Engineer to display this for you.  Not to mention that you will be fiddling with the throttle the entire time you are flying (and there may be times where your TWR is less than 1.0 due to low gravity and the engine you are using).

All told, I'm not sure this challenge is do-able.  I mean, I'll give it a shot at some point...but I don't think you can get off the launchpad at 1.0.

Well Actually:blink: (*nerd moment), a TWR of 1.0 is when the rocket's thrust is equal to its weight, determined by the planet's gravity. At a TWR of 1, the ratio is balanced and therefore the rocket theoretically never moves.

    Spoiler

Disclaimer: This nerd speech does not include the fact that as fuel drains, the weight of the craft decreases, and the ratio climbs over 1.

I do, but I was simply stating that the game is literally about an alien species in the Kerbolar system. A simple yet intriguing franchise. And we simply do not have the correct parts to make something like this without pushing the boundaries of what this sandbox is about. Sure we can make them, but that doesn't always mean its a part of the game, and probably means its going to be part heavy. I personally don't want to judge the things anyone builds in the game, as building, e.g. a dragon, is very impressive with the parts provided by the game. But I do think they should be sticking to the kerbal space program related stuff, like the Apollo missions. Thus being said, I still think challenges like this should still be a option along side another challenge, or something.

I don't remember any Kerbals sitting atop a Saturn V, nor the space shuttle. Isn't KSP supposed to mix real science with science fiction?

Yeah i agree, theres a lot of historical rockets they could make us build, but they just want the kraken to bite us while making capybaras and dragons.

Dude. Appreciate the ideas and creativity of the developers while they iron out the wrinkles of the game and add some REALLY COOL ENGINES. WOW! Those look so fire! Im gonna miss when KSP2 eventually ends development

Bugfixes are not that impressive considering they are not supposed to be in the game to begin with. Its kinda like if I pooped my pants, and then cleaned it afterwards. You'd probably think "yeah, you might want to do that"

Yeah, because there is a game that has no bugs. Wait... which one is it? i'd like to know

the only purpose of the updates is to make sure that the game is playable, so @Nate Simpson does need some praise for giving us so many bug fixes.

by the way the bugs are getting removed. and fast, so lets be happy for these quick, big updates

Even better, the patch 3 might drop by end of April given the 3 week interval between Patch 1 and 2. And who knows, maybe there's heating!

so everybody in the team are newbies? and they never did play the game properly?

man, I'm literally concerning about that roadmap. seems like being ten percent honest is your routine.

The only thing is, we've only covered about 1% of the roadmap and they are already 10% out of 100 honest so...

100% of the roadmap would equal 1000% honesty since we're multiplying honesty by a factor of 10. Pretty damn good job in my opinion:cool:

Why did you just copy patch notes that are already present on the forum?

I asked for your opinion on the bug fixes not on why i borrowed the patch notes. Some other people have already made threads giving their opinion so im doing the same, just adding the patch notes for emphasis on the great job they did.

    Hello!

I'm new to the forums, but have been playing KSP 1 off and on since it came out.  I absolutely love the game!  I have always loved space and have always wanted to be an astronaut, or even just go into space.  KSP 2 has really upped the envelope as far as what is possible, and I really cannot wait to see what future patches have in store for us!

I do have a question for you all, since I am a chef.  What do Kerbals eat?

    Mystery goo

So in proper time - which is to say in God's Marvellous Time - you mean around about tea time? :P

In reality, Its Pacific Daylight time and only pertains to KSP2 for the devs at Seattle. Everything else is referenced as UTC or EST.
