  1. is it possible to do that? anyone who managed doing that mind giving some advice on how the SSTO vehicle is built? my problem is... the nuclear engines cant produce a good thrust to counter act the drag+gravity at mid-stratosphere where the jet dies and the aerospike/ LT- engines are pretty fuel-hungry in Vacuum. --- the best i managed to do with an SSTO is flying the Aires 4A (modified: replacing the docking port with the Kerbal Attachment System plug) to a 100km kerbin orbitting station and flying to minmus after having refueled. but what i actually wanted to do is to fly to minmus and do the refueling there instead of getting it done at kerbin since my kethane station is at minmus (whose isnt?) and refueling at kerbin means one day the kerbal station will run out of fuel and needs refueling too... and that would be pretty hard (well... docking a 30t full Rockmax tank at kerbin is not as easy as docking a full 8000unit Kethane tank at minmus) -- i am not using Ferram... i am playing with the stock aerodynamics -- my desire Minmus orbit is ~12km (with ~200m/s dV to spare for the inclination change maneuver)
  2. well, u should be really sorry. recall the game was $9.9 back then in v0.12. and is now $23 hv u ever seen a game's price go up instead of down? never did i, and this is how good this game is it's power level is off the chart
  3. my minmus or mun lander is my rover, i hv my landers land with wheels and rockets, and they are capable of getting back to kerbin, they work as my kethane transoprtation, and they are docked at my kerbin station when not in use, when my kethane reserve is low, i fly and land them on my kethane drilling camp on minmus
  4. i'll do a clean reinstall and restart from stratch, 1. not missing the day1 Eve launch window 2. when the Eve ship is on transit and before the other planet launch windows are not wide open yet, i will fly a land, and a station to the mun, also a lander and a station to Minmus 3. if isa mapsat and kethne still work with .21, i'll fly a polar probe there to start surveying too then the moho window should be open by the time the surveying i done, launch to moho and duna
  5. there's a few up in play store already... but i guess it's still a good idea to have one more of them maybe having a nice GUI would be great
  6. i currently have installed these: mechjeb kerbal alarm kethane isa mapsat nova punch kerbal attachment system fueltastic self destruct i want to try some other novel/gimmicky thing any idea please?
  7. LOL... sometimes KSP would go insane in memory leak when using mod parts with .png texture... wish u luck bro
  8. my first eeloo probe is still on its way to the planet still waiting the lauch window for Jool and Dres and never landed manned mission on any of the planets
  9. Kethane sites on Mun are of >30deg latitude and it takes ~150m/s to get there from a 0deg orbit in my trials...perhaps i am doing it the fuel wasting way tho....
  10. i tried building a kethane station at mun (~20km 0deg orbit) with a large empty tank and a convertor and fly landers to the mun to mine and then dock it to the station for conversion and storage. but i run into a problem that the landing takes me ~900m/s -1300m/s so as the take off depending on the latitude of the kethane site i land on and i get 4000unit of kethane each time in return. taking into account the docking needs ~20-100unit of RCS depending on whether i screw it up the approach (the full kethane tank is pretty heavy indeed) it seems the kethane mining doesnt provide any surplus at all... so... is Mun not a good mining site for kethane or am i doing something wrong?
  11. it'll be even better if you can jettison the radial nodes at some later time in the flight... see... when you get into orbit... the thrust will be too strong that a slightest tab on the shift will go a huge thrust if you have like 8+4 engines on the tank while having 12 200thrust engines at the launch stage is good... it's way too much when it gets into orbit and the thrust'll be super hard to control (well of cos you can action group the engines... but isnt getting rid of the deadweight an even better idea?)
  12. pump... this is pretty good so often i didnt know what i wanna do when the game loads and i ended up docking another module into my Kerbin Station now i can check what else i can do.
