  1. So would I use them to replace a NERVA on an interplanetary mission, like to duna? Or should I be putting them on ascent/descent stages somehow? Thanks for the reply!
  2. Dumb Question: I'm just getting started with this mod, and I've been looking at the molten salt variety of reactors. What are they good for? I can't seem to build a vessel with dramatically better ISP/dV than a Nerva. Is there a "KSPI extended ship swap" thread somewhere I can't find?
  3. I agree, there needs to be a way to custom load fuel into tanks so that you can have a large orange LFO tank for example. Ideally we need larger ion and nuke engines too.
  4. Thanks! I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something with all the new features. I could tweakscale a 2.5 , but that seems a little hacky, especially early game.
  5. What tanks do you use to fit enough liquidfuel? - - - Updated - - - Why not use the poodle since it weighs a little over half as much and has a higher ISP?
  6. I've seen a lot of debate over the LV-N nerfs and I'm wondering what designs people are using for their interplanetary vehicles now? I've seen some people suggest the Rhino engine, but it's very heavy and doesn't seem fitting for smaller missions.
  7. Possible bug report: I'm getting alerts to do EVA's in orbit above kerbin, but those EVA's yield zero science. Maybe I have something set up wrong? Thanks in advance: great mod.
  8. That's a good link. Any semi-balanced mods that might make it easier?
  9. I'm looking for a .craft file for an eve lander with science gathering. Hoping for 100-200 tons. All I can find is the craft files for the minimalist challenges, which are hard to fly because you have no margin for error. No matter what I try I can't seem to get one working myself. Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks! I'll try some configurations tomorrow and see how it works out. Also, thanks for taking up the mod, it looks like a great mod, but I've never actually been able to play it due to all the problems with it since .25.
  11. Still having problems with thermal mechanics. Below are the steps I took and the results. 1. Started with a clean KSP. 2. Copied ORS into gamedata folder 3. Copied your KSPI folders into gamedata. No overwrites were required. 4. Loaded game 5. Created profile. 6. Quit. Edited savefile to include 5000000 credits and 50000 science. 7. Reloaded, unlocked reactors and radiators. http://imgur.com/5Tci9v3 http://imgur.com/vIOzkGG
  12. I'm using a fresh game install with the files provided here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/104943-0-90-KSP-Interstellar-port-maintance-thread?p=1630968&viewfull=1#post1630968 I am also using mechjeb, hyperedit, kerbal engineer, tweakscale (the version you link to) and stationscience. Maybe I installed in the wrong order. Later tonight I'll try another fresh install with all re-downloaded files. This time I'll install Interstellar last to make sure it can overwrite everything. I'm pretty sure I did that last time, but it can't hurt to try again. - - - Updated - - - Also, I should just do Interstellar and see if that works. That would narrow down the problem.
  13. How does it compare to the picture I posed here: http://imgur.com/Wg25ytX ?
  14. Thermal Manager readings are yellow in the VAB. Here's a picture: http://imgur.com/Wg25ytX
  15. When you set up the beamed power network, how do you get enough radiators to make it worthwhile? Every basic Generator-Reactor-Transciever design I build is ineffective without more than 100 tons of heat radiators. I am using the 2.5M size generator/reactor.
  16. I can't seem to make viable missions until I get to the very end of the tech-tree, when the game is almost over. The wiki has been really helpful for making basic setups, but not for understanding what each combination is good for. When playing in career mode, when should I start using KSPI parts, and what sorts of missions are they useful for? Can anyone recommend a good lets play or career walk-through (preferably shorter than Manley's)?
  17. When I look at my "Delta-V" Column I see two different Delta-V's, divided by a slash. What does each number mean? Thank you for your time! Great plugin!
