  1. U use a lot of Mk3 and Mk2 plane parts in ur builds, not a critism just thought it was really cool, always sort of thought that some are for rocket, some are for planes. Might try and do that some time round
  2. How hard is it and how well could you actually see it? Was it just a pixel or like a whopping two pixels? :0 thx
  3. I've seen threads saying you can, and in the same thread saying you can't. Can you see the other planets (Duna, Eve, Jool, e.t.c.) from the surface of Kerbin or from LKO without mods (only mods to zoom in). Please, I thought this would be really cool for a cinematic video I'm making, for Bill to look up at Duna the night before he is sent tumbling toward his fate... PS: If you can't how close do you need to be? THANKS!
  4. I didn't know whether to put this in Challenge Thread but it it also a question, so I thought to just put it in the discussion. So, to the point. How much science is there available to get in KSP1 and can you get it all in KSP science mode? Now, here's the challenge part: I'm going to try and get it all (not in one mission, but in one save file). I am going to skip unlocking the tech tree, as I found that really boring and just collect it all instantly by starting with however much science. Wish me luck...
  5. Taken on Xbox Series X, unmodded. From my Endymion 1 Space Station / Transport Vessel. I just find that KSP1 has a certain charm to it when unmodded.
  6. The Enterprise 2 Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle lifts off from the KSCs launchpad, preparing to perform its gravity turn to enter low Kerbin orbit. 4 Vector Engines and 2 Pollux SRBs propel it upward. After it reaches its waiting orbit, it performs a Minmus transfer burn and inserts itself into a polar orbit. The left shows Surveyor 1 in orbit of Minmus, collecting nessecary data to choose a landing site for the further Endymion missions.
  7. What is your most intense KSP1 moment of all time? I mean nerve-racking, panic, but eventually managed to prevail to success. Would be great if you could give some screenshots or a video, but don't worry if u can't.
  8. Jebediah sits patiently in his Mk2 command pod in LKO as the Geiger-K drifts away. The probe will remain in orbit, gathering data on radiation within Kerbin's SOI whereas Jebediah will descend to the surface safely. The first images of Kerbin from space since the Kraken-ing (that's what the engineers at AeroKerb are calling the incident, at least). Rumours have been floating around that AeroKerb are planning a launch of their biggest launch vehicle yet, the Enterprise 2!
  9. AeroKerb, the leading private space company on Kerbin at the moment, has declared it shall undertake a breathtaking challenge: establishing a permanent base on the surface of Minmus, the second, more distant moon of the Kerbin System. While scientists blabber on about, well, 'science' (boooo), we all know it is to harvest the mint chop chip ice cream from the surface. The United States of Kerbonia's (USK) own space program, the Kerbal Space Program, already landed a Kerbal on the Mun, but, due to further budget cuts, they retreated and have not launched a manned mission since. That was 12 years ago. Since then, a certain space event of unorthodox (the extreme say it was the elusive Kraken) wiped all objects not on the surface of Kerbin. Once the panic settled down, AeroKerb took it as a golden opportunity to expand. While it is a new company, it has set high goals for itself. Will they succeed? What will be the consequences? But most of all, can the bring home more snacks than they left with? Hey! Most of the content on this thread will be posted in forms of screenshots and links to YouTube videos with a short caption, probably a few sentences. Please feel free to ask questions about this but do not spam unnecessarily in this thread please! Thank you!
  10. Forgot to mention this configuration in the image had a mini-crewed rover so that I can test touch downs for when it is deployed on Minmus during my Endymion 3 mission. I figured if it could survive on Kerbin, it could survive on Minmus.
  11. THE KONKORD-X!!! CLICK HERE TO SEE It is a stylised version of the Concord but more powerful. It cruises the best at around 7km, going around 400m/s (when in wet mode). Have only tested it the Antarctic yet, but guessing it could make it all the way for a circumnavigation. It's around like 50 tons (I think) and has like 90ish parts. Just thought it was cool so I posted it! Merry Christmas!
  12. I designed and landed my Koncord-X in the Arctic with a built in rover so that my Minmus crew could 'practice' for EVAs when they land on the moon. Plane is here. Scientists at the KSC have now decided that the crew will take a sample, bring it inside to allow it to sublimate and inhale it through their nose.
  13. thanks. like genuinely i found this really helpful. before they were just a bunch of hab modules
  14. I sent a crew to the Antarktic (Kerbin south pole) on my hypersonic 'Koncord-X' to practice EVAs for when they go to Minmus. I noticed the bordering the mountain range was actually cratered and blue, like Minmus. And J.F. Kerman has declared that 'AeroKerb' (my space program) will land Kerbals on Minmus within the next 3 years to finally confirm whether the surface IS mint chocolate chip or bubblegum ice cream.
  15. Mine is Migel Kerman. Prety basic name but he is an absolute chad. He, genuinely, was in a plane crash (FedEx Flight 80 but in my hypersonic 'Koncord-X', hitting tarmac at 200m/s) but I managed to EVA him at the last moment in a panic, everything explodes, then, out of the fire (the entire runway had exploded), Migel Kerman stands up. Like...bro?
  16. HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE A GOOD KSP MOD AND ANY TIPS? I know it is ambitious but I would like to make my own outerplanets mod for the Kerbol System. So, one new gas planet with seven moons (I said ambitious), a pluto like dwarf planet way out, an asteroid belt between Jool and Duna, something else beyond the second gas planet and a dwarf planet really close to the sun, within like 10 billion metres of kerbol (dunno really). how hard is it to create a planet pack as such, with moons and all that (not using n body physics btw, just on rails). If so, any tips?
  17. Does anyone else build Kerbin Ground Bases. I personally do, even though it serves no functional purpose (I play in sandbox but limit myself to realistic-ish missions and artificial progression). For example, I recently launched a program to construct an Antarktic (yes, that is what I call the south pole of Kerbin) research and relay station. This time round I've landed my supersonic passenger plane, the Koncord-X, at the South Antarktic coast. This plane has a tail that lifts up to reveal a docking port so I plan to build onto that. I need a hab, relay station, solar field and some more stuff. Just wondering if anyone wanted to show some cool Kerbin ground bases they'd made?
  18. Both, as a total. Yes, you can do multiple launches, but only within Kerbin's SOI, meaning you can't have a massive interplanetary stage powering the probe. So, as soon as it leaves the SOI of Kerbin, the whole craft must be between 3 and 12 tons. But if you choose to sacrafice your sanity for the lander return mission (+3 points :D), you can go up to 15 tons.
  19. In 2015, NASA’s New Horizon probe swung past Pluto, gathering important data about it and its moon before slingshotting itself further away from us, now heading forever out of our solar system…pretty cool, huh? :) But we all know the Kerbals and the great Kerbal Space Program is better than NASA by far, and to prove this we must one up them. Therefore, I challenge all of you budding Kerbonauts to design a probe capable of: REACHING THE PLANET OF EELOO SLINGSHOTTING PAST IT ON AN ESCAPE TRAJECTORY OUT OF THE KERBOL SYSTEM LANDING A SMALLER PROBE ON THE SURFACE TO DO SCIENCE! The rules are as follows: The probe must pass within 70km of Eeloo’s surface and the lander must have a stable, prolonged touchdown on the surface The probe must be done in stock but the two DLCs (Making History and Breaking Ground’ are permitted The probe must way between 3 and 12 tons during its interplanetary stage (from leaving Kerbin’s SOI to entering Eeloo’s SOI) To validate your probe, you must send at least 5 pictures of your probe: one in the VAB (clear), one on the launchpad, in orbit around Kerbin, near Eeloo and finally an image of the lander of the surface. Another image is required of the final probes escape trajectory The information for your probe in your message (simply reply on this thread) must include: mass, name, overview, any cool notes and (hopefully not) controversial things, e.g. part clipping Cheats (including unnecessary part clipping) is prohibited and any will be disqualified Don’t ruin the competition. Be sportsman’s like and don’t ruin the fun for others. THE TOP THREE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON JANUARY 15th 2025. The craft will be ranked out of 10 by my own judgement but can get bonus points for: +1p — The whole probe goes within 10km of the surface (proof needed, screenshot is sufficient) +2p — The probe weighs less than 7 tons (including lander) +2p — You put a merry Christmas Easter egg on your probe! ;D +3p — You return your lander to Kerbin safely (can be recovered from within Kerbin SOI by another craft and can use ISRU FLY SAFE AND ENJOY A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR, HOPEFULLY NOT STRANDED ON DUN (i’m still sorry jeb)
