What are your experiences with the Forums?
JoolRools replied to FTLparachute's topic in Kerbal Network
I only joined a few months ago on New Year’s Eve, but this situation is still disheartening. No matter what happens, we’ll still keep fighting in the dark. I had plans to eventually create and promote 2 custom kopernicus systems here: if you see anything called “Atheral” or “Intergalactik” in the future, that’s me. If this place falls, ksp is truly finished. -
Good news. The forum software license has been renewed for 6 months.

The new owners won’t have a motive to keep the forum alive. The end is certainly near, as even if they spare us this time the chances will drop dramatically in another 6 months. -
I’ve disgraced the ksp community by playing sfs I will allow you guys to banish me on eve

What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
JoolRools replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
On my jool five, I didn’t realize that I was controlling the entire ship from one of the landers until it was already detached. I found out the hard way that it was impossible to steer because it didn’t have a probe (the command module was a service bay with 5x symmetrical command chairs, so setting control point to one of those would make the navball inaccurate). Luckily, since the mission plan allowed the kerbals in each lander to leave in case of fuel shortage while docking, I was able to keep a lander attached and use that to control the ship. Mission was successful. -
I’ve done Moho, Eve, and Jool Five, but somehow I never sent anything, even a probe, to gilly. So I launched the first manned kerbaled mission there. Relatively small flight, with just Jedidiah and Stello Kerman. Gilly transfer went fine, Jeb got into gilly module and landed. He then proceeded to accidentally enter orbit while trying to circumnavigate on EVA and had to wait for one kerbin day for his orbital inclination to match up with the lander. He (eventually) made it back. They are on kerbin trajectory rn. Also, while I was using mechjeb for delta v readouts I loaded up a craft with 20 kerbin twr. 5000 gilly twr.

You could try your hand at modding (speaking as a amateur kopernicus user)

Thompond Kerman getting some "Resistance Training" on the DG-1 aircraft, traveling at 1.3 kilometers per second. Kerbonauts have to be (decently) tough to fly, right? -
This is a tutorial for how to build an N-1 style interstage. Step 1: Attach an engine to a radially mounted Oscar-B tank. Step 2: Add decoupler here. Step 3: Add a fuel tank to the bottom of the decoupler and move it down the length of the engine or longer. Step 4: Move the Oscar-B tank wherever you want the engine to go. Step 5: Decorate the interstage. I am going to add struts in this pattern as an example, but you can add whatever parts you want for your own designs.
