I see you too like the 'elysium' theme... -
Wow, Good job on that one! It looks great. So, i'm not sure if you've been asked this before or not but, are these images straight out of Maya, or do you enhance them and add effects in another program?

So, I recently had a KSP based dream What would you guys think about some short animations, showing various parts of what city life would be like in KSP. So... yeah... I really would like some opinions on this, or maybe even what could be in the videos.

So, i had a dream last night that; for one month. the KSP devs made short animation videos, showing what life would be like for a kerbal who lived in the city, and wasn't a kerbalnaut. They were about 15-30 seconds. But me, still doing kerbal animations I felt pressured to surpass them. PS; if Danross, or any of the KSP devs in charge of media are watching this, I think it would be a cool animation series. -
so... It appears the lighting only adds a small portion to the artwork. Do items in maya by default not cast shadows? Edit: okay, looking closer i can see the lighting does add a bit more of reality, but i can see it's one of the little things that helps add to the artwork.

Oh crap... THE MODELING! I forgot! Wait... Cycles... Not sure if i can still help... -
So Rareden, i'm curious about something. What would just a basic cube with no textures or materials applied look like when placed in one of the scenes in your image. Mostly i'm wondering how much of your artwork is in the lighting...

So clearly my little tips on rigging blew the minds of so many people that; no one is posting. Here, let me re-blow them. Similar to the scene before, except this time i changed a few things. -

Well, let me show you some of the things i have here. [WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY] So here's the scene. For the sake of stuff, i'm turning x-ray on in the bone settings. Now let's take a closer look at the hand. This part is a bit tricky. But basically what this is, is the finger curling constraints. What they do is allow me to flex the pinky, and the rest of the fingers follow in a natural looking way. there are two ways you can do this. One way is to have them all following the rotation of the pinky, and have varying degrees of amount of influence, so that they all follow in a lessening kind of way. this may take some time though, as adjusting the fingers to the perfection. Or what you can do is take the finger bones and link them together one after another. And then set it to a influence of about 75%, so that you get that nice degrade of curl, but can be difficult if you need to move on finger independently. Now onto the foot rigs. It's standard Reverse foot rig, no changes of my own. The bone i have selected is the IK target. It's NOT parented to the leg. This bone selected is the root bone of the foot, It's the bone i grab when it comes to moving and posing the foot. It's parented to the rig's root bone. so that you can pose the torso without moving the foot. The two bones i have selected are the foot deform bones. they are parented to the foot root bone. the toe is not connected to the foot, so that you can shift the heel of the foot, and have the toe still planted on the ground. [End] Well, i hope i helped you with this. -

Here's something i've been working on, um... yeah... there it is. -
Wow, that looks pretty darn good! Compositor? what's that. Just kidding, it's all basic textures applied to materials. All i did was check the little "normal" box, so that the textures would also act as normal maps.

Nice! Oh, just a bit of criticism, it looks like there is a small amount of specular on the ground areas... -
Man, i've been here for about 2 larger eras of Fan art.
-
I find this deeply concerning.
-
I've been doing this for 3(ish) years,(Man, lots of people asking that...) i don't quite remember exactly when, but it was about 3 years ago. Yeah, I have a few of those planned out.
-
So... Rareden, in your opinion. Do you think it'd be easier to save up and buy a really expansive computer built with really high specs? Or would it be easier to buy 2-4 minor computers, and set up a render farm?
-
I kind of hope it doesn't. mostly because it'd melt most people's computers after 2 seconds of loading...
-
Wow... i've gotten lots of responses, but it looks like, going off the pole; is concrete. HOWEVER, after looking at it closely, some might argue plastic. In terms of strength, unexplodium would be my personal favorite of the names thought up. but cardboard cut outs for buildings would be interesting for comic relief purposes.

I've been using blender for about 3 years now, and it wasn't until recently that i started doing the animation portion of 3D. Well, it would have been done by halloween, but i got busy with other things. the whole project would have taken about a week and a half, if i wasn't doing other things I did add SOME ambient noise, i guess i should bring it's volume up. as for the 360/720 things, that was an issues that blender was giving me, and i don't know how to fix it
-
Is that also what trees are made of in the GTA games?
-
Okay, since i didn't mention this, i may as well say it. It's not about the strength, i mean by how it looks.
