Postcards from Laythe - Cancelled indefinately

I'll vote for 2 on this one, and next time I see silsko to bug him to keep Laythe pleasantly habitable. It'd be a nice vacation spot, with a Class-M atmosphere and the slightly reduced gravity making it relaxing for kerbals on summer vacation. -
Small amounts of alcohol aren't harmful when enjoyed responsibly. In fact some forms such as red wine can lead to health benefits, as they are often enjoyed in a relaxing environment with a good meal and family/friends to have fun with. The reduction in stress is shown to more than offset any ill effects from the alcohol.

This. It's Dyson Sphere time. My issue with spaceplanes is mostly one of questionable advantage over rockets. They don't seem to work nearly as well with larger payloads as rockets do, and economy of scale dictates that bigger is better until you start having problems with logistics and structural stability. SpaceX seems to have the satellite market in the bag at the moment, at least until Antares completes testing. Boeing is not amused about there suddenly being two competitors in the unmanned to LEO market formerly dominated by the Deltas and Russian craft.

There's a number of ways to do it really. The easiest way would be an inflatable dome underwater serving as an initial structure inside which a solid permanent structure was made. Such could be done using locally-refined material, only the initial dome and enough compressed gas to inflate it on the seafloor would be required to provide a shielded habitation for the crew operating the refinery. Metallic ores are fairly common in space, with lots of space rocks having iron in them that can be easily refined using whatever energy and free carbon is available. Really the only thing you'd have to transport is lifeforms and enough life support materials to last until local production of required materials can be established. -
Seems like the jet powered Russian knockoff of this: Honestly the H-4 would have been quite fun to fly.
-
That's all it should be, just a discussion about classic model aircraft. It's been a while since I've played any kind of combat sim, I used to love Warbirds III.
-
Ack you guys and your jet powered monsters. I'm a sitting duck in this WWII piston powered classic. Begs the question though, other than in the tail end of WWII when the first jet powered craft like the ME262 took to the skies did piston engine craft actually have a fighting chance against jets? Or did they unbalance things that badly even early on.

Needs more Mitsubishi A6M2 or Junkers JU52. Though my personal favorite is I'll cruise over your head at 30,000 feet in a B24J liberator and let the tailgun pick off all the fighters that come at me. Just gotta watch that they don't come up from beneath, there's no belly gun in a B24J.

Are we seriously talking about Jeb's romance prospects? I doubt he'd be any good at it given his personality, for the most part he'd be too busy oogling the new Skipper engines on the latest model booster or busy taking joyrides on a rocket powered lawnchair to bother anyone seriously. For the most part the characters we've seen pictured also seem like the kind that would have other plans anyway, not wanting to get involved with a reckless celebrity like Jeb. -
Nonsense. I cannot be summoned except by tributing 1 "Nordic Ascendant" Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters. I just happened to be on lunch break and thought I'd catch up on this madness. That's what they all say. They also all say that the bag of suspicious powder is not theirs.

That's just brilliant you guys. Now I get to enjoy PFL in Valhalla, while you guys never know what happens cause there's no way to bring her back to share it.

A Geiger counter? Not quite sure if those can be homemade. Also, you'll probably want to spend the money on buying proper high voltage caps to make an MMC with for a tesla coil. Glass caps tend to perform very poorly and have a tendancy to shatter from the stress placed upon them. The coil itself is fairly easy, just make sure your secondary windings are perfectly laid out with no kinks or overlaps and coat it with several layers of laqueur to make sure it doesn't arc out.

Already? I was under the impression that things were going nicely for a change. Also I didn't know that SBY2199 was still incomplete- the last two episodes aren't out yet.
-
It would probably be deemed inappropriate and have to be removed.

So... If Star Trek type transporters existed, would you use one?

Probably something like this, at least until the technology became affordable and was certain to not cause any ill effects. Also by that time I'll have learned how to set up an endless level 4 diagnostic so that I can live forever by trapping myself in the backup buffer. -

Constitutional monarchy. Like the UK has. They still have their royalty, but also have Parliament to actually run things while the royals operate with a very limited executive authority. I suppose it would work fairly well for a space colony, being a natural step up from the chain of command on board a ship done by adding a committee to the existing chain of command with the commanding officer at the top. -
That's a really bad pun. I'd take that link back off if I were you.
-
Wild. Hadn't expected to see that on a cokebottle. It's not a name you see very often.
-
Oh good it worked correctly this time. You may notice some posts in this thread that weren't there a little while ago.

Changing the culture will probably have serious side effects in how the plot plays out, as well as making it necessary to retouch any images that have symbolism in them to fit the new culture correctly. It's probably best to keep it as it is, and just avoid anything that is likely to upset people because of its historic significance. You guys are getting better about the off topic stuff too. I only had to remove one page this time instead of several. -
You need to upload it to another site, and then enclose the link to it in img tags.
-
Granted. Here's a roll of Charmin ultra toilet paper, less is more. I wish I had a working transporter.

We are NOT starting that again in this thread, unless it is in the pages of Trekkette's writings to accompany Chobit's art. Those who do not comply will receive proper punishments. -
That's too easy. Because you didn't score well on your homework, having less exams means you now flunk because you can't use the exam score to save your GPA. I wish my inventions would actually work properly.

That is a clever idea for populating the kerbal seats. What I did for one of mine was I built a rover around the 3 man pod to be used as a staff car of sorts around KSC for populating craft.
