This challenge requires two launches to orbit, if you can do even one stable orbit that is SSTO in your first orbit/landing (that can complete the objectives in the end) you will get special (OMGSERIOUSLY) recognition. EDIT: This challenge is obviously not SSTO, if you can do that (in any fashion or degree) you are a god...

Edit: I started work before I announce a challenge ... Second edit: Mucho manual control is required to land this thing, Jeb will not save you.
  3. With .17 on the horizon we need to start developing some uber landers. A Lander that is capable of landing on a large-ish planet, with or without atmosphere, then getting back to orbit. Lastly, I have been attempting this with OHDEARGODSTOP rules, and failing spectacularly. Turns out Ultra-hardmode is easier than expected and OHDEARGODSTOP is damn near impossible. Also, no space plane fans...?
  4. So, I managed to get a kerbal into orbit 2200meters off the surface of the mun using his eva pack. So I did what any reasonable person would due, got drunk and mounted a rescue mission. I had a massive 5 Pod lander to rendezvous and pick the guy up, then change orbit and land half a kilo from my two other landers(couldn\'t get closer, lag issues). I did not however, take any screen shots until after I landed... Landerus Maximus with two other landers in the distance. Newdrin Kerbin in a spare pod. Jeb got wasted at the mun party.
  5. We already have that, empty pods v .03. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16824.0 I\'ve used it to drop a 5 pod rescue vessel/dorm to my 12 kerbal Mun colony. Unfortunately with so many ships landed in the same area the game lags too much to land another... Also right click the hatch of the extra pods to get the kerbals back out.
  6. Before you ask I build rockets and landers the Kerbal way, no reading, trial and mostly error... Speaking of which I forgot to put any RCS on this and didnt realize until I got to the moon... Landed anyway and still got close to the arch. Edit: The rocket I used, stock except for damned robotics beams. Its so fragile it cant use sas in the first two stages. Still... it made it. Edit: On top of an arch.
  7. The space kracken seems to be a speed thing in my experience, speeds over 5kps get a bit dodgy. Learned this trying to land on the sun, its possible(ish) btw, I got a ship to 100kps due to a warp accident...
  8. I think I have you beat on size if not height... I designed it to get the lowest orbit possible around the sun, its a WIP. Also its a mushroom to clear the tower and keep height down. Also it does in fact fly, though the RCS and altitude bugs out a bit. The first stage can just about put the thing in orbit. EDIT: I didn\'t see that it was stock parts. This design is Kosmos and Nova
