1. Mornin', folks. I've cleaned up the thread a bit, so don't mind the missing posts. Let's keep in cool in here and stay on-topic.
2. Don't worry, we're aware; thanks for bringing the issue to our attention. I'll have one of my supervisors PM you, Sirine. Edit: I guess you already PM'd Rowsdower. The devs are now aware of the situation and thank you for bringing it up.
3. Get out. Clarkson P-45.
4. Was one of the first things I "accidentally" found the first time I installed HyperEdit way back in the day. There's a lot of weird easter eggs in KSP that were only revealed to me in the last few months. But yeah, scanning picked it up for me... Dunno what the status on scanner mods is at the moment though.
5. I've read through seven pages of this thread, and if it weren't for the title, I'd have no idea what was going on in here. It's obvious nobody intends to heed a moderator's previous request to bring this back to its original subject, so it will be closed. I understand how and why the subject changed, but it's derailed nonetheless. In the future, start a new thread.
6. Pretty much this. This announcement is all that's currently been publicly released by the dev team, and the discussion of it is being held on the blog page. With that said, I'll go ahead and close this.
7. Well that looks spectacular, entertaining, and infuriating... I had an instance of that once, but it was my fault. I had modified the wrong .cfg on a part I was working on and ended up shrinking the size of an adapter by a factor of ten. I had that adapter on the central hub of my Mun base. Loaded in, and the thing started to vibrate violently and exploded into a shower of parts. It was pretty fun to watch.
8. It's not an issue of airflow and overheating, as far as I can tell. What it sounds like is that your PSU just can't serve enough power, which doesn't necessarily mean it's overheating. Just avoid any boost software, and you should be okay. Another thing that causes that type of artifacting is blown/cracked capacitors. I'd remove the card and take a good look at the caps and make sure they're not bloated or leaking. But yeah, you should definitely upgrade both power and the card itself if you ever get the chance.
9. The thing about how messy Spaceport is, is that only a few of us have the authority to delete anything on it. The way it is now, it would be impractical for us to keep up with cleaning it, but yes, modders could help the situation by paying attention to what they've already uploaded. Generally, if you need to find a mod that's on Spaceport, chances are there's a forum thread for it.
10. Bob hurdling at the surface of the moon at 500m/s after being flung off the lander. "Check it, I got this."
11. This doesn't really seem like something that would be directly caused by the software, but the software might be doing something that's causing it. GeForce experience has a thing called GPU Boost, and from what I'm seeing, it looks like your card isn't getting enough power. I have a suspicion that GFE is auto-enabling GPU Boost and overclocking your card past what your PSU can give it, causing that artifacting. That said, I have GFE, but have it installed anyway because I'm too lazy. But it doesn't hurt to look around the options and turn off certain things.
12. 90 degrees is fully horizontal (the horizon line on the indicator is actually 0, while 90 is straight up). You want to be pointing at 45 degrees. Generally, during my ascents, I begin to slowly tip toward the horizon, and depending on my rocket design, end up fully horizontal at 35-50km, depending on the design of my rocket. The prograde marker just points to where it would be most efficient to enlarge your orbit by increasing the periapsis. At low altitudes or speeds, the thing goes crazy and tells you to point in all sorts of directions. Try sloping at 45 degrees and staying there until your apoapsis reaches a decent height, something like 30km or so, and then slowly begin to tip toward the horizon line to gain horizontal speed. You'll get the hang of it. I might be misunderstanding your situation though; let me know if I am. I feel like 'turn over to 90' might be talking about pointing eastward. In which case, you might have other problems.
13. Additionally, you can utilize the "report post" function and we'll most likely see it faster.
14. Help is the only reason I'm even on this forum. The game was devastatingly hard for me when I first got into it. I dropped it and picked it up quite a few times before I finally was able to get into it, with the help of the incredible tutorials this community offers. Now, I'm not saying I'm an expert, but I've gotten pretty good and written/recorded a few tutorials of my own. It's definitely not a game you can jump into and immediately understand, and that's part of why it's so enticing to keep coming back to it.
15. Glad you're back and still enjoying yourself, NeoMorph. Was a bit worried at the thread title until I came in here. Trickster. But yeah, I agree 100%. I'm on a hiatus myself; haven't played in several months, but it's got that special vibe to it that keeps me coming back every once in a while, because you just can't stay away from space for too long.
16. Sup, moderator intervention. It's pretty obvious that this is a really touchy topic for a lot of people, but I'd like that everybody stays cool-headed and civil in their replies. Stay away from steering this into a political discussion, and please remember that there is absolutely no reason to attack other users for their opinion or responses. Also remember that not everybody here is from the same country (hurr), and there are several different dialects in here that change the way people read posts. If you have a problem, please report the post and ignore it, so we can deal with it. Regards, The mod team
17. I've considered this idea in the past, but after asking a variety of mod creators, it was decided that it wouldn't be a good idea. Most like having a thread open to comments, criticism, and support. It's easier for them to manage it all in one place instead of having to find a dedicated support thread buried somewhere in another forum. Easier for us to moderate, too.
18. REGRET

19. This. Mountains are being made of molehills here, folks. The only reason the term "buried" is even a thing around here is because people are down-right refusing to visit other sub-forums. It's literally a case of moving your mouse another 5 centimeters down your screen. While I agree with FEichinger that we do have far too many sub-forums, that doesn't mean threads should be in places they obviously don't belong, and yeah, sometimes it's a tough call. We're working with Rowsdower and the senior moderation staff to possibly cut down on a few of them. I fail to see how this has any bearing on the subject and would like to point out that this thread is directly contesting the team's decision; would you really expect us not to flood in here? This had nothing to do with the thread's move, but I have to agree. I'm not saying everyone's work isn't awesome, but it has turned into a bit of a "mission dump". Perhaps, in fan works, those who actually care to look for the thread (see: people that post screenshots in there to begin with) will revive it with high-quality content. At the end of the day, we really all do appreciate the community's input, but we appreciate staff input, as well. As mentioned, we're not machines and are people like the rest of you, with varying opinions regarding the set-up and organization of the current state of the forums. We respect your opinions and choices, please respect ours.
20. I've blown through the alpha content in Starbound pretty fast, but I'm still having a better time than Terraria. Character design is better, the water and lava physics are a lot less buggy... Also guns. Guns everywhere. And yeah. SPACE. Pretty decent for $15 at least.
21. I remember seeing that thread; I know what you're talking about. I'll let the staff know and see what we can find out. For those of you looking for the pictures thread, it was moved to the KSP Fanworks section. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24533-Show-off-your-awesome-KSP-pictures%21
22. I think the author of the thread has gotten what they came for. Closed.
23. I was going to address this sooner, but the forums kind of exploded, so I'll address it now. I'm not comfortable with the zealousness of some of the moderators, and we do try to avoid these situations as often as possible. As much as I hate to use the cliche "we're human" excuse, we do make mistakes quite often and we can't do everything perfectly all the time and have eyes on every thread. The reason some of our methods may seem ridiculous is due to trying to maintain continuity and consistency in our actions. That said, I'm addressing this publicly so that the thread stays going in the right direction. Let's keep this thread away from this subject, as the OP has already stated that his topics were not targeted at the moderation team. If you have complaints, there's a sub-forum to post them in and staff members who are more than willing to talk it out in a respectful and civil manner. I'm online often and am always on IRC if anyone needs to talk about issues they may be having. So please, have at the discussion in OP, but keep it that, and not a staff-bashing moshpit. Edit: My feelings on these subjects are pretty much reflected in this thread. Fragmenting the community is a bad idea. I think it's ironic that the forums went down while I was typing it out, but today's forum explosion was not on Squad's end as far as we can tell.
24. Little hiccup with someone merging an existing thread. Don't worry, it's back in the right spot now!
