  2. I am Radion Spaceworks, the Radion of 'Radion\'s roleplay.' What you do not know is that I am currently creating a roleplay forum to replace the one that existed here on these forums prior to the creation of the Fan Art board. It\'s a clean slate, completely unrelated history-wise to the old RP board, and will hopefully survive better than the one here. However, one cannot just walk in. As one of the ways I intend to keep the RP forum as good and professional as possible, one wishing to enter into roleplay must first pass the admission test, which judges English skills (requiring at least median knowledge of the subject), creativity, and Political theory.
  3. You can, but it\'ll cost you. Money, people, and military presence until the Kortugan resistance dies down (2 weeks). I\'m implementing a system for it. Wow, I\'m going to have a system for almost everything.
  4. Congratulations Damion! Happy Fathers Day! (Ariadne was born just in time!)
  5. In the event where a nation does not have a citizen, the leader is allowed to RP as the citizens as well.
  6. I\'ve decided to implement a citizens board. Each nation will have its own citizen section in the citizens board where the citizens of a nation can send petitions to the government (you) to do things in the nation. For instance, if your nation has very low healthcare, they might petition for higher healthcare.
  7. Back to more breaking news from RSWNN (Radion Space Works News Network, hehe) The recent SQL file find has allowed me to put up 3 major threads in 10 minutes, as opposed to the 3 hours it would have taken. Progress moves fast. In addition, Radion is looking into adding a 'citizens' board, for people who don\'t want to be leaders or businessmen, but rather citizens of an RP nation.
  8. Coming to you live from my studio (yes, I have one in my home. Computer room, so to speak) - Breaking News! Your National Pages survived the last collapse! If you made your page, it still exists on my hard drive among nearly a million characters of text.
  9. Because all of the people currently with access to the site are not available, and because most of the ideas are locked up in my mind.
  10. I can get it up tomorrow if I type 700 wpm. Tuesday\'s your best bet, although if I parse a bit more through this sql file of mine, It might come earlier. It\'s too early to tell.
  11. I can confirm that the moderation team has been PM\'ed with information regarding the site. Two of the team members have registered and visited the site, and at the moment I am writing the war rules thread and trying to find a better spoiler option.
  12. I do believe the challenge is to build the fighter in fighter mode, ergo, not in robot mode.
  13. You offer me a flower? Take it back... Burning, of course.
  14. Would you and RedDwarf be willing to negotiate by PM?
  15. 1. That\'s correct, no need to rebuke it. 2. The US Spelling is meter, and neither are incorrect.
  16. Just an announcement, the maximum kerbals per pixel for your starting population is 400.
  17. You realize that the average kerbal is around 45-50 centimeters tall, and 7ft is 213 cm. That\'s almost 4 1/2 times taller than a normal kerb.
  18. That is the most up to date version I have.
  19. Paint.NET has a handy little feature where you just select your nation using the magic wand tool (set at 30% tolerance), and at the bottom there is a little bar that gives you the area of your selection in pixels square, although I simply refer to them as pixels.
  20. This also sets us up for something interesting. I\'d say that each pixel on the standard map can support 2000 Kerbs, meaning that the maximum population of Kerbin before things get out of hand is just over a billion Kerbals. All I can say is that I\'d invest in core commodities and nuke bunkers, hehe.
  21. It only needs to be calculated once a week. Really, almost everything is happening once a week, and a lot of things need population data, so I\'ll have to calculate this first, then do everything else. I could also hire a few people to help me out. I\'ll see, but I like this new population method.
  22. I have an idea. The formula I used made the assumption that each couple would have only 1 child, which is a definite death spiral. To combat this, I would use a number provided by random.org to designate the number of children to be had by the families of Nation A. So, it would work like this- Nation A has 60 adults, 30 children, and 10 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 2 children, for a total of 60 children born (1.9, but you can\'t have .1 children running around), and 10 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will increase by 50 to 150. Now there are 60 children, 30 adults, and 60 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 2 children (1.5) for a total of 60 children born, and 60 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will not change. Now there are 60 children, 60 adults, and 30 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 1 child (1.1), for a total of 30 children born, and 30 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will remain the same. Now there are 30 children, 60 adults, and 60 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 1 child (1.4), for a total of 30 children born, and 60 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will decrease by 30 to 120. Now there are 30 children, 30 adults, and 60 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 3 children (2.8 ), for a total of 90 children born, and 60 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will increase by 30 to 150. Now there are 90 children, 30 adults, and 60 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 2 children (2.3), for a total of 60 children born, and 60 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will remain the same. Now there are 60 children, 90 adults, and 30 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 2 (2.1), for a total of 90 children born, and 30 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will increase by 60 to 210. Now there are 90 children, 60 adults, and 90 seniors. In this birth cycle, each couple will have 1 child (0.5), for a total of 30 children born, and 90 seniors will die. Thus, the population of Nation A will decrease by 60 to 150. It seems fluid enough to work.
  23. Population will be handled as follows - Let\'s say you\'re Nation A. Your pixel count has yielded you a population of 100 Kerbals (your really tiny.). They will automatically be divided into 3 groups - Children (30%), Adults (60%), and Seniors (10%). Children will mature in the next birth cycle Adults will have children in this birth cycle and will become seniors in the next. Half of the Seniors will die in the next birth cycle, the other half will die in the next (ouch) So, Nation A has 60 Adults, 30 Children, and 10 Seniors. In this birth cycle, there will be 30 children born, and 5 seniors will die. Thus, for this birth cycle, the population of Nation A will increase by 25, to 125. In the next birth cycle, there will be 30 children, 30 adults, and 65 seniors. In this birth cycle, 15 children will be born, and 33 seniors will die. Thus, for this birth cycle, the population of Nation A will decrease by 18 to 107. In the next birth cycle, there will be 15 children, 30 adults, and 62 seniors. In this birth cycle, 15 children will be born, and 31 seniors will die. Thus, for this birth cycle, the population of Nation A will decrease by 16 to 91. In the next birth cycle, there will be 15 children, 15 adults, and 61 seniors The above formula over time will dwindle populations down tremendously. Allow me some time to rework it, please.
  24. A screeny or three for your thoughts? Above: The landing page, divided as normally into categories and boards. Above: What a board looks like on the inside. Note the easy transition from one board to another on the right. Above: Testing the messages feature, which allows me to put up important news updates there.
