I want to make a door on a space station to make a docking bay utilizing the wing connectors as most of the parts. I tried to use lander legs as hinges, but unlike .15, I can\'t seem to connect the wing connectors to the legs. Any suggestions? No mods, I want stock parts.

The suits only had ~3-6 hours of oxygen in them. How would they have survived on 3-6 hours worth of oxygen over a period of three days? -
Update on the new station. I haven\'t been able to make a door hinge with stock parts, the wing connectors just won\'t connect to the lander legs, which is odd, as I\'ve connected other things to lander legs. Although that was in .15, perhaps it doesn\'t do that now in .16. I forgot to take a picture of my progress on the HUGE docking bay, but I have an image of my older station. The new one is going to make my computer poop it\'s pants. If I get a door working, I\'ll post a .craft file here and let you figure out how to launch it.

If the capsule had no life support systems, the two people on the moon would have died. They didn\'t wear the suits inside the lander as well. -

I think the view out the windows is supposed to be the actual rendered image that you would see from the windows. Don\'t quote me on it though, I\'m not 100% sure. -
Forget dockable, is it single stage to orbit? lol

If I built something that large... My computer would explode. Never mind crashing... My station wont be that larger. I have yet to test it. If I can\'t get images tomorrow, I will simply let you know how it goes.

Not with the first Munbase, I already had plans laid out for it. I may try a landing bay on a Minmus Base, as it is much easier to land with RCS there than on the Mun, and the liquid engines may destroy the parts of the base. But I\'ll definitely try to start to construct a space station with a door, it\'ll take alot of R&D, especially since I only use stock parts (aside from the crewtank). So the legs will have to be hinges. I will also try to get pictures, I don\'t have internet at home, I log on here at work. I\'ll have to dig up my flashdrive out of the pit of computer stuff.

Ya\'ll so excited for a rover landing on a ball of rust. woopee, there\'s water there, of course there is, there\'s RUST, there must be water. But seriously, I am super excited for the new planet(s). I can\'t wait for the desert (mars-like) planet, I also hope there\'s one analogous to Venus, As I would love to melt in it\'s sulfuric acid. The actually said the terrain engine wasn\'t capable of doing gas giants. -
My station itself isn\'t going to be that big (not like the galaxy 3), it\'s just going to have an enormous docking port sitting on top of it. Someone mentioned thrusters. It\'s going to have plenty of RCS and pro/retro main engines. I\'m hoping it wont be as heavy as the mun base I\'m getting ready to launch 8)

Atmosphere still needs some tweaks, though. And my lander needs a drogue chute. Note to self: Make drogue chute part. That made me pee my pants a little with excitement. Just a little. No one will notice. -
Yes, but the lifter stage will be obscene. I\'m envisioning... double ring of large rockets, 3 fuel tanks on six stacks in each ring, with a central 3 tank stage, with 18 solid boosters on the outside. The 13 LFEs all light at once, as well as 12 of the solid boosters just after liftoff, then the solids separate from the exterior stage as the last 6 light up. Those run out, followed shortly after by the exterior six LFEs, at which point one would hope to be above 20 km so as not to fall back down to their death (hehe). I\'m sure you can figure out the rest of the story. Of course, that heavy lifter is probably only good for a LKO with a station that is the size I\'m thinking of.

Atmospheric Rescue Craft

Has anyone been able to make a seaplane with stock parts? I landed a plane in the water (which is why i sent a rescue boat). Well... sort of. The only think left was the cockpit, the pilot, and two fueselage pieces, all floating in separate spots (except the pilot, who was obviously in the cockpit). If I could make a seaplane out of stock parts (I like the challenge of stock-only), then I could have a HUGE range. Much larger than 70 km out, 70 km back. -

I dropped Bill Kerman into the Mun (accidentally?) and he did like... a lot of slingshots around the core and now is in Solar Orbit, but I can\'t switch to him. An error pops up (same one that popped up when i tried to switch to him in the mun) that says something like 'too many parts' or something and the game crashes. When I view him on the tracking station, it says he\'s on 'sub-orbital trajectory,' but when I go to map view from a ship, and zoom out, he\'s out around the Sun.

Yea, that one. Couldn\'t remember the same. Almost the same configuration, but the Crewtank is the only mod I have, so no Solar Panels. I made arms out of structural fuselage, rcs tanks, SAS, and nose cones, with ladders down to the ends and extension ladders sticking off the ends. It\'s pretty freakin neat lookin. Doesn\'t really server a purpose except for a new excuse to make orbital rondezvous and EVA between ships. -
I\'m going to try and make an obscenely large version of this with a larger docking bay for my SSTO plane, Just to see what happens. I\'ll probably put it in LKO just so I can get the SSTO to it to do one man crew swap outs. I already have one mock up station in orbit at 200km, I might as well put this type of one out there with a docking bay.

Atmospheric Rescue Craft

I have a small-medium range rescue craft, it\'s an amphibious car/boat. It has about a 130-150 km total range. That\'s from start of runway, out, and back to park at the KSC. It\'s a second version of a craft that had approximately a 80 km range. I had to send it out twice to rescue the guy I was trying to get in the first place, and then rescue the guys that went to rescue the original guy. I have not done a full range test. Does this craft need to be able to go anywhere on the planet and return to KSC?
