War Thunder - Screenshots and Discussion thread!
[ Jeremy ] replied to Columbia's topic in The Lounge
Haven't played it yet (exams and all that fun stuff) , but I'll have a look by the weekend. In any case, what's changed this patch? -
I would say that there isn't much you could add, but maybe that large grey stripe on the long tanks could continue up the rest of the tank and down the length of the tank below. Apart from that, I would say to spend as much time as you need for it, get them lines and colors all nice and pretty

I found the recipe as a reward in an Operations Centre so I guess this is where you get them. I think Polo might have a chance to give you the recipe as well nut Operations Centres are easier to find because you can use those orange beacons to look for Colonial Outposts, which are either Manufacturing Facilities or Operations Centres. Results may vary, random chance based of course (40-50 hours of game time, about 20-30 successful terminals in the centres for me at least) You'll get the v2 pass first I presume, but that's luck for you

So these DO exist! Now what lies beyond those doors in the space station...
-
Oh I forgot to mention this but in the space stages there is no wait timer - once you down all hostiles your threat level immediately rises.

One thing to note about No Man's Sky is that it's a game that's best played if you simply chill out. Seeing as it's main premise is the theme of exploration for the sake of exploration, I personally don't think about how I as a player fit into all of this -- That's not what the game is about. Maybe a good time to play NMS is after a long day, and you just want to zone out and completely relax for a bit. No rhyme or reason for what you're doing, just wandering around and doing whatever just happens to be there or what happens to pop into you're head. On a sidenote, I've just completed the Atlas storyline and that does a reasonable job of explaining the whole situation to you, just in case that helps with the "inconsistencies" you speak of @JoseEduardo As for what happens when you reach level 5 with the Sentinels, the battle stops on the ground. It moves to space. If you try to boost (not pulse jump) away from the planet, a Sentinel fighter will jump in to try and shoot you down. Successive levels involve more fighters being sent in until you get level 5 in space, (it resets to level 1 once you get off planet, technically it's level 10 if you started on a planet) in which case a Sentinel Battleship warps in with a squad of fighters as their last effort to take you out. After that not much else happens if you manage to defeat it. (You can't destroy the battleship, only it's turrets) I'm thinking they'll add in more stuff in the future but that's as far as the Sentinels go as of yet.

Agreed, I'm here for the exploration and the progression, however slow it is. The catharsis of getting your ship and tools juust the way you want it feels great. As for story, I like it. I found that the more ancient sites of one race you visit, it gives you deeper insights into the lore of the universe, along with race-specific tidbits. (Korvax is my favourite of the three, Atlas coming in a close second.)

Same way you get to level 2 or 3, leave at least one of them alive for long enough and your threat level will go up. You have to wait about a minute to get from level 3 to 4, so don't get killed before then Oh and make sure they can still see you, if you're either too far away or out of line of sight for long enough they'll simply forget about you and you have to start all over again.
-
Oh these things? Yeah these guys pop up when you get to level four alert with the Sentinels. (See top-right) Lemme tell you, the laser's so strong it really knocks your view around, I suggest finding some cover or just tank it out if you have your suit up to snuff. As for dogfighting in the vicinity of the freighters/destroyers, Use the phase beam's lock on functionality to aggro the ships, then pull away to have them chase you from the freighter to avoid friendly fire.

I must say though, even though they couldn't keep their own promises in terms of content, NMS does a pretty good job of what it provides as of yet, however basic it is. And with time, maybe future updates will see us with the content Hello Games had promised the community. It's just a waiting game n P.S. 30-ish hours in and loving every second of it so far. Will keep this post updated with screenies from my adventures

Mine switches between space / sci-fi themed backgrounds and minimalist ones. Here's what's on right now:

Wow @Pine, that's a really nice aesthetic you're coming up with there, definitely gives off a strong cell-shaded look. A request if you will, just one of my interplanetary tugs sitting in low-ish orbit, waiting for its transfer window;

Top Gun AI - The Official Tournament Thread
[ Jeremy ] replied to RocketTurtle's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Technicalities, technicalities, that rule page really needs a TL;DR version, but I guess it's moot since submissions are ending today. In any case the Katana's been updated to comply, links should update automatically so download them from the same link. -
Top Gun AI - The Official Tournament Thread

Since these crafts never participated in a tournament, as to my knowledge, I'm re-submitting them. The only changes since this post was the engine switch from Whiplashes to Panthers in 1.0.5 Action Groups for all crafts are as follows: Space switches engine modes , RCS is the fire button just in case, 1/2 switches between weapons, 3 is the arming toggle, 4 deploys countermeasures and 0 toggles AI. As for eligibility in this specific tournament, I'm submitting the Katana and Shuriken for this one, eligible craft files for these are here: [Both only have 2 Vulcan (hidden) cannons, and the missiles have been removed, so they're all set for the tourney.] Katana Shuriken -
So, in League there's a thing where you can score multi-kills in matches, up to the elusive and revered "Pentakill", where you somehow manage to land the killing blow onto all five members of the opposing team. I've only ever had one of these, until today that is: The only reason I got that I think is because I hung back from the initial fight, long enough at least where everyone had already used their abilities besides myself. Arcane floods ensued, and in the end I stood over six corpses, a fallen ally and the entire other team. The match finished up pretty quickly after that, but I feel good.

Since 1.0.5 brought about the new thermals, I guess it's time for a new submission. Introducing the KART - Kerbin Aerial Rapid Transport , able to round the planet in in only 54 minutes and 23 seconds, enough time to have breakfast and come back for... brunch? Proving once again that pretty and fast are still able to exist in harmony in this challenge, I suppose

These days, both games stand about even with me, I tend to burn out with them from time to time, but I do come back eventually. What usually gets me back into one or another is an idea that prompts me to return to the game, something like new launcher configs in KSP, or a very long-running project in MC such as this: But as for what's better, as others have mentioned, KSP and Minecraft cater to different things, being better in some aspects and worse in others, so I can't make a real call there.

I remember messing around with this years ago, nice game this is!

I wont be around for awhile I have some sad news ...

Merely trying to describe the emotions in these following weeks and months is purely futile in every sense. You only know these feelings if such events have also happened to yourself as well. My deepest and absolute condolences. Spend your time wisely my friend ; It no longer seems infinite now.
