  1. I have to make a small bug report: the action group to change the throttle mode doesn't work. It's not a bug that prevent the construction of rover, but it's a little annoying, especially when you use the mode "throttle"(I use it for my road train, to prevent the powered wheel to loose their grip).
  2. Thank you! I had to know that because I am making a road train. (it has 8 jumbo rockomax fuel tank in line. They are linked pur a free rotatable platform from another mod, although I put struts to make groups of two "trailers" each because it work better that way; otherwise, I get way too much jackknifing problem( they don't cause a crash: I manage to brake before that all the times). EDIT: in case you were wondering how that road train look like, here's a picture! EDIT2: oh, and what I meant by jackknifing problem, I meant that the end of the "train" is swinging around. I have plenty of time to brake. (image of the swinging, the white smoke resulting from the drift is awesome ) (image of the situation of the "rain" once I braked) EDIT3: and now, some spec. The first four wheels from the front of the vehicle are the powered one, only the first two steers. There is 8 diesels engines, I think I could use less engines but: 1) it wouldn't be as cool. 2) I want to be sure I can climb some slopes. It's quite easy to drive, after some practice, and you might not encounter jackknifing problem as long as you are very careful(like, no important acceleration and making very wides turns when you're at high speed(for this truck it's around 20 m/s(it can go faster than that, but it's become more dangerous)) . There is 23910 litre of liquid fuel in total, 150 reserved for the engines(which allow me to do 14km(calculate from data that are not precise because I didn't remembered them well when I did my calculations) and 28160 litres of oxidizer. From my calculations, I could make 2164 km if I also used the fuel from the tanks behind the truck cabin for the diesel engines.(although, for that calculation I used data that are not exact, and I assumed that the fuel consumption in L/KM stay the same all the time; this is false because, as the fuel is burned, the weight of the truck become lighter(even if it's still heavy) so my fuel consumption in L/KM will be lower). Of, and the last spec: the truck(when fully loaded) have a weight of 349,510 tons.
  3. just a little question: is the power divided between the wheels? I mean, let's say I have a power of 80 and 8 wheels, will each wheels "receive" a power of 8 or 80 ?
  4. Is there a way to lock the suspensions of a wheel? Also, in the tweekable GUI, there is an option for the driving power, another one for the steering and a third one. What does the third option(from the up) change?
  5. Thank you! Now, I would have two comment to make. The first one is a suggestion: sound. It would make it very cool to hear the roar the engines when you spam them(why? because KSP, that's why) the second, is: SO MUCH NOSTALGIA! seriously, I remember very well when I made the truck, and the small car that went inside. :-)
  6. Yay! The multi wheels mod is back! I was using it when I was kind off new at KSP. Using a mod that made flat surface(like wings but without lift and difference shapes), I made a simple truck. I then made a little car that could fit in the truck(which had a openable/closable door thank to damned robotic) and I was transporting the car to different places. Not because I needed it, but because it was cooler. Speaking of trucks, is there a mod with a free rotating platform or a free moving hinge?(if possible, both of them)
  7. Do you calculate that with or without taxes? (also, why do you feel uncomfortable around prime number? On a curious side, I wonder if there is a phobia for that. And if there is, how it's called.)
  8. I just had a idea for the mod: pre-launch failures(yes, it's as sadistic as it sound). Basically, it simply that a part could be in a failure state before you even launch the rocket(due to manufacturing problem or something like that) or have the reliability reduced(for the same reasons).
  9. Hi! I already know Python 3.4 but I have to pass to Python 2.7 for some reason. I already know the differences aren't really bigs but I don't want to find a tutorial on Python 2.7 and spot the differences. Is there a tutorial made specifically to show the differences between 3.4 and 2.7? Thank you!
  10. Anyone know when the VAB's renovation will be finished? I too want to visit the KSC but I would wait until the VAB is open so I can visit it.
  11. Don't forget the chemtrail behind the planes! Also, I see you have been brainwashed by the conspirators: 9/11 never happened! the planes was there just to deliver some sort of giant invisibility cloak! They put faked debris just to make people think it was real! Don't trust me? Well, does it make sense that a big and solid tower collapse? Does it make sense that a collapsing tower create so much debris? Does it make sense that we need so much time to remove those debris and that they wanted to rebuild a tower there? no! It's obvious that they faked it just to declare a war to make weapon industry rich! They put faked debris and decided to "rebuild" it to prevent people from going there and walk into the tower! Also, you may say that some has walked into the area of the site was only actors who knew exactly where to walk to avoid the towers; the few individual who managed to get to the site were brainwashed to believe they never went there. (yeah, I'm a hardcore conspiracy theorist).
  12. ok, I have a good news and a bad news. Which one do you want to know the first? I am using the mac version I tried to boost the minimum maximum distance (by using the menu in the space centre): I passed from 1 to 10 and it worked!
  13. err. I have yet anther bug to report(like in the old days ) It's simple to describe but yet, too simple(as in: you won't get a lot of information) I had a leaking fuel during a manned Duna mission, but I couldn't open the GUI of the tank no matter how hard I tried. Here's a picture of the tank and of the verbal kerbal* in EVA. thank you auto corrector!
  14. Edlu Kerman. This can't be a coincidence, it surely a pre-made name. I also have Jorgee whose name sound close to an activity that I can't explain here(yes, I have a dirty mind ) and destop(and I'm writting this on my desktop). Do not thrust trust* him! Alway check the snake container for... hum.... something looking like grass and remove it. Otherwise, the others kerbal will alway say "kerbin, we have a problem. We have a fire in the spaceship. No wait! It was just smoke from Roford's thingy. *yes, I wrote that in the first place.
  15. I was playing an quit old(in today standar) plane fighting game(pacific fighter). After I took off, the first thing I did was pressing "T" to enable SAS. (also, I was thinking about pressing it mid-flight because, in some occasion, you can't start the game on ground:it start in mid-air). I need help.
  16. Ok, I achieved to do it. I simply copy/pasted a part of a science save(the "setting" part: from the beginning to the object discoverable) to the sandbox save(and deleting the corresponding part of the sandbox save of course). If anyone need to do the same thing or doesn't understand what I just said, feel free to ask me more details!
  17. I landed a rover on every land-able celestial body(except Tylo, like I said in my edit). However, I made manned landing to Duna, kerbin (of course), the man and minmus. My next goal is Ike which wouldn't pose a problem since I think I can do it with my Duna space craft. And after Duna, well, I will see which planet is the easiest to land and return to kerbin! (by the way, which one is it?) EDIT I just remembered to write something: I didn't landed on Tylo. (sorry)
  18. Hi! I want to make a science save so I can have the science reports. However, I already made a sandbox save where I built most of my ships, and my landings, planted flags and made a space station... Is there any way to transfer my progress I made in the sandbox save to the science one? The space station is a bit of a pain to build and replanting the flags will be long(not so long after all, but I would prefer to not doing it again). Thank you for reading!
  19. On a french magazine( science et vie junior). It was a page showing how to make a rocket. Of course, I was very interested in that game as soon as I read that page: the first game that offered a decent rocket construction!(and a decent flying too). It was back in the 0.13.3 So much nostalgia.
  20. I know, I wasn't impressed by the time taken but that the fact that astronauts can endure a 6 hour and a half space walk. Think of it, you may be tired at the end of the day after a long day at work. Now imagine if you were in outer space, forced to be extremely concentrated, with a 120KG suit on you.
  21. Ok, I'm subscribed to the NASA mailing list and I received this (note: the title of this thread was the subject of the mail, the following is a copy/paste of the mail). Two Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station will venture outside the orbiting outpost Monday, Aug. 18, for a six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk -- the 181st in support of space station assembly and maintenance. NASA TV coverage will begin at 9:30 a.m. Expedition 40 Flight Engineers Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev of the Russian Federal Space Agency will exit the Pirs docking compartment airlock about 10 a.m. EDT to deploy a small Peruvian science satellite, and install and retrieve science experiments on the exterior of Russian station modules. This will be the second spacewalk for both cosmonauts. Skvortsov will be designated as extravehicular (EV) crew member 1 and will wear the Orlan suit bearing red stripes. Artemyev will be designated as extravehicular EV-2 and will wear a suit with blue stripes. For NASA TV streaming video, schedule and downlink information, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/nasatv For more information about the International Space Station and its crew, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/station -end- I don't even understand how an astronaut can do a spacewalk for 6 and a half hour o_O
  22. I just had a new idea of failure: the SAS. Think of it, sometime, it can be quite difficult to fly without it!
  23. Why? They are useful for testing purpose(can I save jeb if this failure occur?) or just for the fun(let's see if I can land this plane with an control surface stuck during a maneuver?). (Also, it can be fun to see that some design are extremely weak to some failures)
