    I was going to write, that it is called sub-orbital flight, but it turns out, it actually isn't. Anyway, looks like I was wrong. btw atmosphere ends at 69km ASL.

    If you are talking strictly about KSP - there is no such thing as unstable orbit.

    If that's true, then Apollo lander was a VTOL. About RR Thrust Measuring Rig - for me it seems to be a mistake (calling it VTOL). Every source I have seen says, that lift generation is required for a vehicle to be called VTOL. Without wings, rotors, etc., it's just VTVL.

    It is not VTOL unless it uses wings (or rotors) to generate lift in atmosphere.

    And that's not constant, I have performed upper atmo research at 80km ASL. Squad pls fix btw Eve's upper atmo seems to start at 22km ASL.

    If you want your parts to be "clean", just put rcs blocks on radial decouplers.

    People seem to be too impatient for ion engines. Burns are rather long with only 0.5 kN thrust.
