  1. I blame my occasional-popping-into-this-thread for Youtube\'s treatment of videos related to mine: Gee, thanks ;P
  2. They will provide readouts on things like atmospheric density, temperature, pressure. Eventually, I want to go as far as making them function based on the input of commands, instead of direct keyboard/joystick input.
  3. Got the first SRB modelled. Need to make a nosecone, and set up its stats.
  4. It was an attempt to remedy the 'use RCS and reach the mun' thing... I just need to make RCS thrusters have: 1. Low thrust. Originally, I had increased it to make rotation more powerful - but, I hadn\'t realized how broken rotation was at the time. 2. An Isp of around 220, comparable to real monopropellant RCS.
  5. I forgot to mention, I got the physicsless (and therefore flight-unaffecting) heat shield to function perfectly.
  6. You can\'t have a concave collision mesh, so you couldn\'t decouple it from the top down... I\'ll keep thinking about a way to manage it, though. There must be a way.
  7. Yeah... I mean, even I, pony hater extraordinaire, approve of this thread. Just leave it be!
  8. I remember seeing footage of it at the time, but I don\'t remember any of it in real detail... Only now can I really understand what happened. What upsets me the most is that NASA could have saved them - Columbia had large amounts of consumables on board, enough for one month in orbit. Plus, another shuttle (Endeavor if I remember right) was being readied for launch. If they had proceeded with its launch, they could have sent it up to Columbia with five days overlap for a rescue mission.
  9. Yeah, let\'s let the issue be done. Took a short break after the marathon of work earlier today. Played some skyrim, and made this:
  10. Fireworks, to launch from a spacecraft to commemorate something.
  11. Free speech is not an excuse to be a moron. I will release the mod when it is done. Yelling about how much you want it, while it may make you feel better, does nothing to help speed it up.
  12. It\'s not that, it\'s a seam in the mesh itself since it\'s composed of two parts instead of one contiguous object.
  13. My guess is some invisible colliders that the decouplers would hit. Edit: I wonder if it\'s possible to fix the seams on the fairings:
  14. I have pleased he who I had thought impossible to please. It truly is a glorious day! Also, the fairing system is coming along very well, I have mastered the PhysicsSignificance variable.
  15. I centered the model so that the center of gravity wasn\'t overlapping with that of the other fairing piece. It worked!
  16. With the fairing problems solved, the progress I\'ve made is now extremely tangible. Crabapple I will be ready for liftoff proper by the time 0.14 is out!
  17. I don\'t think you understand the problem. (also, they work nothing like the existing SE fairings) This works: This doesn\'t: And this isn\'t always the case. Because some of them work either way: The first two are sometimes, seemingly completely at random, reversed. The latter will work while the former won\'t. Edit: it seems to be caused by the centers of gravity overlapping...? It\'s hard to tell. FLAWLESS VICTORY
  18. The fairing system is coming along nicely: However, there is one VERY MAJOR ISSUE: symmetry. Only about half the time symmetry works for the adapter base. It seems to be completely random as to when it works and doesn\'t work. Is there any way at all I can fix this, or is this something that belongs as a bug report in the dev forum?
