False. The user below me is looking for that India Mars mission.

Fraps is one of the best, little-to-no performance drop, high quality and resolution files. Open Broadcaster Software, although for live streaming purposes, does quite a good job for recording the screen. But its passive method can introcude lags in the output file ... You need to have a good computer if you want to run it nicely. And as its name suggests, it is free !

Using RCS for thrust (NOT guidance)
SolarLiner replied to zapman987's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The answer is: you cannot. You can use them to produce thrust (using the translation commands), but you cannot control them by the throttle gauge. -
ermagherd (10chars)

I will not push the button. Paradoxes are fun! Push the button to get into space but with only 3 minutes of oxygen left and 2 km away from ISS.

How to: Alternatively install mods !
SolarLiner replied to SolarLiner's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Well, I understand the GameData way, but I still find way easier to get the mods in the JSGME MODS folder then (de)activate the wanted mods. That way I can play with only some mods and make a new restart with an other set of mods, quickly test mods without messing with the game itself. That way I can also put the crafts and saves that comes with the mod (I think B9, KW and others by this). So I understand the point that, in fact, is not safer than a direct mod install, but it only has advantages doing this. So yeah, changed the title for that, realized I was maybe a bit too excited in sharing my way of doing stuff. -
How to: Alternatively install mods !
SolarLiner replied to SolarLiner's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Seems another good option, but I never used it, I shared my thoughts to the community. Might have to try that, but I always had worries about "automatic detections" and such ... -
... Is me in my blog post talking about two methods of getting safe MODS installation. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/entries/1059-How-to-Two-methods-for-safe-MODS-install-%21

Meh, who needs Research anyway? -
You escape the candies but run into Dem Kraken. Buzzing him may lead to unexpected floating precision errors.

Erm ... they does not look yummy ... Yo notice a rover going towards you like an agressive chicken dancing. It has a long range sattelite dish on it. What do you do?

[0.24+][Dev slowdown]Nagging Nadia v0.13 beta
SolarLiner replied to SolarLiner's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The mod follows a curve that goes from 400m to 0m, with the maximum vertical speed on the other axis. Basicaly it checks for your current altitude if the max vertical speed has been reached or not. If yes, it triggers the alarm. If not it stops it. (This is roughly the curve used here) Meh, iOS ... [personal opinion]I don't really like it[/personal opinion] But anyway, I only have a windows install so I can't really test on other OS. I can run Linux though Virtual Machines but it would get too complicated (and I'll not retry the dual boot as it broke two times my HDD for no reason). So yeah, thanks for testing ! -
Regarding the sonic boom video: There's no "whoosh" before getting supersonic, you just hear nothing than a boom (heavily compressed air by the soundwaves all arriving at once into your ears) : Plus, the cone gets narrower and narrower as you get faster and faster. And in this cone, no sonic boom - ever. An improvement suggestion would be to add proper Doppler effect and simulated speed of sound: the further away you are, the more time the sound will take to get to you. Plus, for the perfectness, a low frequency bypass that will cut high freqs the further you get from the audio source because of sound waves "loss", mainly the most "little" ones -> the high frequencies.
