  1. I was thinking about the first stage imploding while still in the atmosphere, but then again they are not that big and the S-IVB is an upper stage.
  2. I made a comparison shot for the 1.25m fuselage and was surprised by how much head room there was. The stairs are rescale 2.5m stairs. A Kerbal could easily stand upright in a 1.25m section.
  3. I've been using the guns with 0.90 without problems, but I haven't used anything else.
  4. I wish the camera angle would allow viewing or pointed away from the craft so you could take screen shots without the craft in view.
  5. I've always thought that Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station could be a good example the psychology of a Mars base. You have 200 people in the summer, if you can call it that and 50 over the six months of darkness and winter. They are a mixture of people from scientists to maintenance and are they same types of people you would need on a Mars base. People stay sane by working, socializing and whatever hobbies they can do in a small place.
  6. It looks like Medieval KSP. We need to get BahamutoD on this.
  7. I was just wondering if anyone has ever suggested a vehicle mounted flamethrower before? It might be too close ranged to be much fun. Maybe napalm bombs?
  8. I came across this game "Besiege" and though it might appeal to some KSP players. You get to design and build giant siege engines and then let them wreak havoc. There is a second game "Offworld Trading Company" that might be fun. I wish it was more science based as it seems more economic. Both are early access and I'm holding off on this one to see how it develops.
  9. I wish all parts had damage states like this instead of just turning to dust. Think of all the lovely debris fields when landings go bad.
  10. I think its been mass production and standardization that are biggest things that have brought down the prices in more recent years. Many home installations are modular now and you can design them by just grouping together enough modular sections to give the power you need. Later you can even add more power to a home by just installing new sections. They don't necessarily need to be made by the same company. You just need to make sure you install standardized components when you first plan the system. If governments can be talked into or continue to subsidize solar, then industries will continue to mass produce and drive the prices down.
  11. I still get giddy over a Delta Heavy launch.
  12. ..........Yum, rotten eggs and ammonia flavored ice cream, mmmmmmmm............
  13. I've had a love hate relationship with KAS, at times, as it can cause random explosions and I've had landers just float off a planets surface when the physics engine starts to break down. When it works, it's the greatest mod, but when it doesn't it can destroy a base you have spent a lot of time making.
  14. Posting on an official game forum is so last century. Twitter and Reddit are where all the cool kids are. All joking aside, I just think news from the developers should be posed first on their official forum before other sites.
  15. William: Bill, Billy, Will or Willie even Liam.
  16. What, not a single Bill Shakespeare.
  17. The hydrogen atom is a much smaller than natural gas, I'm surprised if they didn't have problems. I've used larger helium for leak detection and it's hard to stop leaking completely and I was using high precision connections with special copper washers. I can't imagine using decade old gas lines for it. I'm not saying it's not possible, it's just really surprises me.
  18. I see it's going to the Port of Los Angeles for shipment back to Texas. I keep hoping they will use the local harbor again so I could get a picture of it.
  19. ......and people complain about Comic Sans.
  20. I think Tesla was just using a pulsating magnetic field, which is fine for short distances and I wouldn't want to live next to it.
  21. Yes, they will still need conventional power plants on standby and interconnected power grids over larger areas. They can also make Hybrid Heliostats that run on natural gas or solar. I think it will just take a lot longer than some people think. Renewable night time power generation and storage is also expensive.
  22. Five years sounds much too soon to me, especially with all the newer natural gas that has becoming available. I would like to see most of our energy come from solar/wind as oil in the long run will only get more expensive. As well as keeping the air cleaner, we are wasting oil that we need to make millions of different types of goods. A completely renewable energy system will probably take decades to get to an affordable price, be practical and then build it to large national size scales. Earth is very big, I don't think wind turbines will have anymore effect on local weather than farmers planting trees for wind breaks around their farms.
  23. Wow, even at 1440p it's almost like you are looking out a window right under the auroras.
