Around the time Kerbin was formed, an asteroid the size of Duna impacted Kerbin. Causing Kerbin to have an iron core and a stable magnetic field. Part of the debris from the impact forge to form the mün. Around some million years after that, several giant asteroids impacted the Mün's equator causing debris to collect on the Mün's north and south poles. The mün's crust has not fully solidified that time. When the mun's crust solifies, smaller asteroids bombarded the mün's surface. One big impact occurred on the mün's north pole. Soon, magma starts to leak out from the mantle, forming the many canyons that are seen. In 2012, Munoliths and Mün archs start to appear for a reason that could be explained geographically.

  3. I'd suppose Laythe's water is liquid methane (see Saturn's moon: Titan) Liquid methane has a low freezing point. Is a gas in room temp, but a liquid 70 billion meters away. Though I think liquid methane is yellow in color. It could be liquid hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen of some sort.
  4. On the wiki, only maps of Kerbin, Mun and Minmus are available. Can someone make more FULL COLOR MAPS, not ISA MapSat Maps. This would help everyone find a good geologically interesting location to land or observe. POST ALL UR MAPS HERE!

  6. I'm completely new to these things. So can someone explain what a Patcher do? And because i'm running on a mac, so I can't open .exe files.
  7. How do you think about this idea? There are a few problems though: 1. Performance - this game needs high performance graphics which a phone has limitations 2. Screen size - Some phones are small and barely enough space to fit controls, commands, markers etc. 3. Storage - a game like this might take up a lot of memory IMO.

  10. Hi guys. I have been thinking this mod for a long time. I wanted to build it but may need some feedback. You could help build it too. Make things possible! Stuff: The tube, supposedly having a high crash tolerance. Carbon nano-tubes. It needs to be long, stackable. High breaking torque and force. The elevator, a donut shaped unmanned command pod. The command pod should have the tube go through it. Needs some fuel to propel itself upwards. Use RCS or retrothrusters to slow down when reaching highest point. The support, positioned at the base of the elevator. Have it on land or water. If it's on land, make wheels in case it needs to move about. Needs to have very very long legs for extreme stability. The highest point, positioned in Keosynchronous Orbit. Needs some propulsion and RCS and ASAS for emergencies. Needs high breaking torque and force. The habitats, attached to the elevator. Holds Kerbals. Yup, I guess its kinda hard. But anything can happen in KSP.
  11. Yes! Planet practice in 0.16 What you should do: Use the PartGravity mod and plugin and send a mini Mun or 500m asteroid in orbit around Kerbol. Either further or nearer than Kerbin orbit. Build a rocket with any mods you like and try to land on the mini planet. Do an EVA too!! Scoring: 10 points - get a mini Mun or asteroid to orbit Kerbol 30 points - The orbit is inclined by at least 5° 40 points - The orbit is double the distance between Kerbin and Kerbol 10 points - Build a rocket and approach within 1km of the object. 10 points - Land on the mini planet 10 points - Do an EVA 20 points - Return home 50 points - Use stock parts only for the rocket to get to the mini planet Double your points if you could land 2 separate rockets on the mini planet and so on. Leaderboard: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. I've tried it myself but failed, see how you could fair it!
