  1. No problem. Collaberation is how we get the good stuff going!
  2. This surface phenomenon is quite interesting. Earlier submarine experiments found near-surface submarines were much more controllable than those which travelled slightly deeper. I suspect that this upper boundary may also have something to do with the "splashed down" loss of parts.
  3. Snjo has a new custom plugin for making parts float on water; you may want to check that out.
  4. My understanding of KSP's buoyancy is that it is calculated, but never actually gets applied. Wish I could find the quote.
  5. As to submarines, I had a coversation a while ago here. (It started a little earlier, but I think it's all in the quote-pyramid.) Basically, you can edit the airships plugin to give negative buoyancy, and make your sub sink that way.
  6. KAS is a seperate mod from this, and seems to be fully compatable with .21
  7. Unfortunately, the ducted fan intakes are scaled wrong and seem resistant to my attempts to resize them. Anyone get them working? Edit: Okay, leaving the VAB and re-entering it fixes the scale of the intakes. How utterly weird. New intakes will still be scaled improperly though.
  8. Caterpillar tracks? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/35147-Rubber-Band-Inc-Caterpillar-Tracks-Alpha?highlight=Caterpillar
  9. Odd, that didn't work for me. Maybe a linux issue? Regardless, retracted is probably the correct way to start these out. After all, the main reason I can see for these is for getting launched to space. Otherwise a player would probably use a larger, more powerful propeller.
  10. After trying it out, the folding prop is very awesome. However; it starts deployed on launch. Shouldn't it start out folded up?
  11. Well, I really like Firespitter, which goes really well with Hooligan labs airships, which works great with KAS. If that's not your style, you should still get the mk2 cockpit and mk3 cockpit interiors.
  12. Sounds like a good idea. It would look better, but would it have any associated drawbacks, such as reduced framerate?
  13. Just seconding that idea, as I've been hoping for a folding electric propeller ever since you made the folding rotor.
  14. Hey Snjo! I love the propeller blur animation, but it never shows up on the FS1PEE electric engines, or any of the helicopter blades.
  15. Glad you decided to release this! Now we can finally have IVA's for all our aircraft!
  16. Wow! I'm glad to find thrust corrector; I've always had to handwave the weirdness in fuel-flow rate as alternate-universe laws of physics.
  17. I would suggest a design fix, and add more reaction wheels.
  18. I'm on it! (Running Linux) Game boots correctly. Probe loads up and GUI appears. Lemonade Stand? Beeps are beeping. Manned ship loads up and sounds work. Seems to be working.
  19. Awesome, thanks for the advice! Sounds like it's not worth upgrading the CPU till I'm ready to do the motherboard as well.
  20. The power supply is actually quite fantastic. I did quite a bit of looking into power supplies before I got it, and appreciate many of it's design decisions. It's also very good at keeping itself cool (though I did have to upgrade my case to one with a topside vent when I bought it.) I've been on the same AMD processor for seven years; is there something wrong with AMD? Thanks for the link on Athlon and Phenom differences. If I do go for a new processor, it will probably be the AMD Phenom II X2 550. It's got a slight edge on speed, and I've never found much use for more than two cores.
  21. I've been using, and gradually upgrading, the same computer I built back in 2007. Here's my current computer: Motherboard: Asus M2N-E PSU: Seasonic X-460 fanless CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Windsor 2.2GHz Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor ADA4200CUBOX HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB Western Digital WD10EADS Caviar Green 1TB Adata ASP900 64GB SSD GPU: ASUS GeForce GT 210 silent Case: Antec Solo II There are also various CPU coolers and other little bits which are probably not all that interesting. In summary: A practically silent box, which has remained competent at gaming. Other parts have come and gone, but the CPU and Motherboard have remained rock-solid for the entire time. So, here's my question. I can upgrade my BIOS, and install a new CPU, but my choices are somewhat limited for my older motherboard. I think that the AMD Phenom II X2 550 and the AMD Athlon II X4 640 are probably my best choices, but I'd like an outside opinion on which might be better, or if I should even bother with the hassle of upgrading an obsolete motherboard with an out-of-date CPU? Also, what is the difference between the Athlon and Phenom lines?
  22. That is one nice design aesthetic! If electromagnetics and potential future technologies is your thing, ionocraft (lifter) engines have started to have proper scientific examination for their potential in aerospace. Might make for a neat part.
  23. Basically. "xxd -s +0x7cebc7 -l 1 KSP.x86_64" should return "07cebc7: 01", and after running "echo "7cebc7: 00" | xxd -r - KSP.x86_64", "xxd -s +0x7cebc7 -l 1 KSP.x86_64" should return "07cebc7: 00" So, the commands to run are the lines starting with "echo". And it seems to work.
