Note: MechJeb was installed on all ships, but never used. I always put a pod on "just in case." My mission for today: Kerbin - Minimus - Mun - Kerbin. Simple enough and went flawlessly, well, almost... I swapped crews with my Minimus base and headed to the Mun. Stopped at the Arch and then took off for Kerbin. This was primarily a test flight to see if I could make the two stops as planned. On the return to Kerbin the flaw in the KSA engineering was discovered: no parachute was added to VENTURE I. PANIC!! Plan B was sprung into action. VENTURE I and its three-man crew entered a 225km circular orbit around Kerbin. TRINITY was readied for launch to retrieve the crew. Piloted by Ferson Kerman, TRINITY performed a perfect rendezvous with VENTURE I and the crew EVA'd to the TRINITY capsule. (This was, by far, the best, easiest rendezvous I've achieved.) Then Ferson then returned all four souls to a close, off-shore landing of the KSC. But what about VENTURE I? It was decided that it was in the Country's best interest to not leave the vessel in space unattended. So, DESTROYER I, piloted again by Ferson Kerman, was launched. DESTROYER I would rendezvous and destroy, with its on-board laser, VENTURE I. VENTURE I and TRINITY rendezvous. TRINITY has the plethora of RCS tanks. EVA to the rescue ship. Parachutes deployed just off-shore of the KSC. Minimus is observed in the background. -

Novapunch is my go-to pack! -
Just popped up for me. I didn't update yet as I wanted to get feedback from you guinea pigs first to see if it crashes the game or something, hahaha!

I haven't been following the .17 development close enough I guess...what is "Skybox?" -
Thanks, Shpaget.

I'm pretty sure there's an effect to change things to B&W in the program. Try Googling PDN (Paint.net) and the type of changes you want to make- there may be some info posted about it. Download and have fun!

Nice looking space plane - I haz teh jealous! 9/10

I'm not sure exactly which effects you're speaking of, but I celebrate my "inner-Nerd" with Paint.net when I create liveries for my airline in my online airline management sim. It's a free program and you can make some pretty cool stuff with it. I'm sure I only use a fraction of its potential. Excuse me while I provide examples of my Nerdiness: and my "throwback" retro livery...

At least they survived. ...the radial-mount parachutes, that is. Performed a crew swap with my Minimus Base crew. The three returning Krewmembers were subsequently lost during re-entry when the radial-mount parachutes departed the re-entry vehicle. Recommendation: Struts for the parachutes. -

That was very cool! Came here to post another picture only to see that tough act of yours to follow, lol. Having achieved Keostationary orbit last night for the first time, a new mission was launched today. A satellite was put into Keostationary orbit successfully. After deployment, RELAY II then burned into a 200km orbit to rendezvous with Space Station DURATION, which has been in orbit for a couple of months. The crew member from RELAY II and Camwise Kerman (aboard DURATION) then went on EVA and swapped ships, allowing Camwise the opportunity to return home. -

Mini-me, stop humping the rocket. Philfred having fun in Keostationary orbit. -
The Army didn't have Fokker build that plane for our use, we simply used it after-the-fact. That is the US Army "Golden Knights" parachute team's plane.
-
Yeah, not too common. The Fokker F-27 is one of them. The F-18 Hornet kinda-sorta does this with its mains, but it's still probably more lateral movement than aft.
-
On aircraft without "up locks" for landing gear, it helps having the system designed so that if hydraulic pressure is lost the gear will fall into the slipstream (backward, meaning it retracts forward) so that the drag can help assist the gear into the locked position. You'll also have to think about center-of-gravity issues when building your planes as well. It will shift forward/aft depending on how it retracts/extends.
-
But but but....they didn't go straight up to 40000m, then turn 90* and fly horizontally?! Shenanigans!!
-
I was just messing with you. I think that's a great looking design- thanks for sharing with us.
-
Very nice, much better than I could ever do! (And you're about 6 engines short to be a B52, lol.)
-
Great flying!
-
Pretty cool! I think I'm going to try the same thing.

I've been using that mod with the TNT bundles- forget the creator. Works pretty well! Put some dynamite on a stage and it blows up 5 seconds after separation.
