[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!
andrew123 replied to Mr. Pseudonym's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Avro Vulcan. Cleared for use only by MRL (Midair refueling labs) and Zokesia Skunkworks. It also has a variant with 8 guided missiles and a refueling probe in the front. The plane can carry as much as it weighs without breaking a sweat. -
spying........

We haven't done it with claws yet, and the issue lies mostly within the structural rigidity. I'm thinking of a way to integrate it, though. Receiving craft is progressing. (Includes concealed batteries.) Vulcan MK V is well under development and will soon be tested for rendezvous with the KC-135. It's a development of my Avro Vulcan for my MRL (Mid-air Refueling Labs). It's armed with 8 guided missiles and can carry it's own weight in payload without breaking a sweat.

And I still work with Zekes. I let him develop some of his own offshoots for the Vulcan. Zokesia link: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24534-Zokesia-Skunkworks%21

"Magnum" (If anyone gets that reference)

Awesome! I'm going to reopen the MRL as a new company, and we're officially hiring! KC-135, here we come! Also, I'm planning on modifying this jet for my attempt. Here it is! The MKII non-armed revision of the Avro Vulcan. Fast, large, stylish, and capable of performing some nice tricks without SAS, this is truly a plane from the Cold War. Awesome! If you don't mind my asking, could you please post this in the linked thread? It's a archive thread dedicated to compiling data and endeavors on midair refueling. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/73434-Midair-Refueling-Development-Labs-SR-72-Phoenix-xoknight-mareczex333-successful/page6 -

Ohio Class SSBN. Missiles installed, work on revised outer hull is resumed. The length of the submarine is insane, and I lengthened it after taking the picture. -

Thank you. I just hope my submarine's hull can survive the water. (Need to develop component by component. It's too damn large.)
-
The main challenge is to get the darn submarine to sink, and then the propeller. Anyone have hyperedit coordinates for the ocean?
-
You're probably running a 32 bit OS and/or 32 bit KSP.

Just a PSA: unless you do time-sensitive and precision computer work, ECC RAM is a ripoff. Not to mention only Xeon CPU's from Intel support ecc, and you'd be using an ecc vram equipped gpu in conjunction with a redrocket or xeon phi if you're a professional. Or, you might even have a k40 accelerator card.

Unless you're going for 1440p gaming, you'll be better off with a gtx 760. No, seriously. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperClocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-2765-KR/dp/B00DHW4HXY Use that cash on a nice ssd, preferrebly at least this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Pro-Series-Internal-MZ-7KE128BW/dp/B00LF10L02 All of you with you're fancy intel processors... I'm running a crappy fx 6300... :) And the saddest thing is that I do have an i7 Hexa core CPU laying around... with no compatible motherboard. Blame intel for making fragmented chipsets... (Or my unwillingness to buy another motherboard. I like my AMD memory controller.) The rest of my desktop is actually good... including the two SSD's, Xonar DX sound card, TX3 cpu heatsink, HD tv tuner, 750 GB hdd, and a gtx 760. Not to mention my precious Asus pb278q. 1440p PLS FTW. Also, 1600 mhz 8gb dual channel CL9 DDR3 RAM FTW. Also, I PM'd you some other suggestions, including a new psu.

A darn shame, but I'm pretty sure they'll fix 'er up soon. Can't have too many vintages in the air nowadays.
-
Oh crab... 24 of my slbm's exceeds 1400 parts... I guess I should plan for my pc's funeral.
-
I finally tuned up the Trident II D-5 SLBM. I went through 3 iterations to get to this missile. 24 of these missiles will be loaded onto my Ohio Class SSBN. Each missile carries 6 MIRV warheads, with an in development Chevalier decoy System. I also laid the keel of the Ohio Class SSBN. The outer hull is currently under construction, with some difficulty due to the small SPH... I might have to get a hangar extension mod...

F-15K (Kraken) Raining Democracy on a Nation Near YOU

Thanks. I have an interceptor version with drop tanks coming in soon. -
All right, I came up with my official fighter jet. The F-15 with thrust vectoring. (Drop tank coming soon). Jet also includes the panels that retract and come out to act like miniature canards, which are present in the real F-15. You have to take it for a spin to know what I mean. The system is integrated into the jet's fly-by-wire system, also known as the SAS. Download link: http://db.orangedox.com/hJ4hUXffXkwEQ8Egog/F-15A%20II%20JSTRIKE.craft This F-15 costs just $40,000 without the missiles, but around $74,000 with 4 supersonic all aspect guided missiles. Maneuverability is excellent, the short take off and landing distance marks it as carrier capable, it weighs just 12 tons in a clean configuration, and it has a long range with 900 units of liquid fuel (expandable via a drop tank that'll be released separately) and two efficient turbo fan jet engines, and a high wing configuration for large weapons. Part count is just 99 parts with no weapons, but 176 parts with the four missiles. Pictures of clean and armed F-15's. Last part includes missile strike demonstration.
