  1. Using a modified NovaPunch Thor/Odin Mun rocket(more struts for stability) I had a normal liftoff and all that. Everything up until fairing and LES separation. The initial separation was fine, but I noticed that the fairings were going ahead of me. I didn't think this was a problem until I started my circularization burn and one of the the fairing pieces came back and smacked the side of the command pod, tearing off a solar panel box and separating the command pod from the service module and the rest of the rocket. I entered into an uncontrollable spin as the command pod wouldn't come off the rocket right away. Once I torqued it off, I spun even faster. I turned on SAS and the pod abruptly righted itself for reentry. From there, it was a normal descent. While the mission was a totally embarrassing failure, the Kerbals survived to launch another day. Through it all, I only maxed my G's out at 8.6...not too bad.
  2. This. I can only hope that it's a very loud .1% of the world's population... To be on topic: I have no idea how you can cheat in a sandbox game. Play it however you want. I don't have time for chest-thumping elitists...
  3. 1.44 GB with 857 parts. Takes a while to load up(30-ish seconds maybe). Crashes aren't all that frequent. Pretty sure I could get by with several more parts, though...
  4. Apparently, you can't make parts bigger with the rescale factor... Trying to figure out .cfg files and how they work so that maybe one day I can eventually figure out how to do some modeling, I've tried resizing a few existing stock and mod parts for giggles and learning purposes as far as config files go. I tried making a few parts bigger(a lot bigger...foolishly, physics breakingly bigger...because...reasons) and I end up with the part I started with the intended size with big gaps between the parts. But in the VAB, they're the size I rescaled them to. What's the cause of this?
  5. Well then... Good luck and Godspeed and OhmyLordIsowanttoseethisinthegameeventuallybecauseIlovebigassrockets!
  6. 591 or something like that. I saw the first picture and the first words out of my mouth: "What the hell?" Then I saw the lander... The kind of language that statement included is not allowed here... Downloading if for nothing else to gawk at that sweet, sweet lander up close.
  7. If it gets to orbital altitude in 1 stage, that MIGHT be interplanetary capable... Not sure, though. In the main KSP folder go to Ships>VAB>whatever you named the ship. Then copy that file and put it on dropbox or something similar.
  8. First, how does it fly? Second, what's the fuel consumption like? Third, Where's the .craft file? haha
  9. Not sure how with MJ 2 as I'm waiting for them to iron out all the wrinkles, but whatever the MJ 2.0 equivalent of the ILS(Instrument Landing System) is. I understand that in MJ 2.0, you can choose which runway to land at. What I do, is bring up target autopilot, select Target KSP, then hit, "Land at Target" I abort that once in atmo, and bring up the ILS and activate it, then just sit back and watch it come in. Although, it's been a while since I last did that, so... It's worth giving a shot at least.
  10. If he decides not to, you could use whatever mod uses the servo controls and then rig up some ramps to those and let them down and there's a Lunokhod landing platform...
  11. These look really good and I can't wait to see them in game! Some of these parts are already out there, BUT there's absolutely nothing wrong at all with having a couple different versions of the same crafts. I'm REALLY glad you're including Blocks V and B as no one has made those yet.
  12. I remember you posting the first iteration of this on Reddit and I fell in love with it. I was one of the few that liked the chutes. This looks to be a better version, and I'll try it first chance I get. One question. Will this achieve orbit and land back on Kerbin without need of refueling?
  13. Saturn V. It's just a monstrosity of rocket engineering. Plus, it took it us to the Moon. Also, it was principally designed in Huntsville, Alabama...my home state.
  14. Congrats! I'm glad I wasn't playing KSP when I finished up my academic education, I surely would have failed as spectacularly as my early rocket designs...
  15. Neil and Buzz... They were the first two to walk on the Moon. Neil stabilized Gemini 8. Buzz punched a conspiracy theorist right in the jaw. Armstrong had the tip of one of his fingers cut off and he just packed it on ice and had them reattach it. Badasses, I tell ya, badasses. Jim Lovell... The man has an awesome personality.
  16. Yes. I would classify myself as religious. Christian. Baptist. That said, I'll not visit this thread anymore because someone will eventually come along and derail it and it will fall into arguments and get closed. It's the course of almost every thread like this everywhere. Sure, it starts civil... Then...chaos.
  17. Just throwing this out there, but wasn't the Altair designed to take 4 crew members down? If so, might I suggest using this mod? It makes the Hitchhiker a command pod and has an IVA allowing 4 crew members(although 1 and 4 are in the same seat...) It would require a fair amount of tweaking the ascent module, so... Not sure it's worth the effort, just throwing that out there.
  18. THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR KERBAL Ignore this, this is just so the bolded stays in caps.
  19. "What's the point of being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes?"
  20. The adapters, yes. I think they have only a small amount of fuel in them, though. Not sure... They DO look a we bit N1ish though...
