  1. otherwise there is always ISA. In the last compete version the data wasnt always correct (atmosphere too high or low) but maybe the new version does have accurate data. Otherwise check the planet boxes in the kerbal wiki.
  2. I've tried that before. I was able to get my orbit down to, on average, 4km. I had to do a lot of looking at ISA to find the lowest route through the trans-polar mountain range. A polar orbit wont work, the poles are just to mountains. The Mün is pretty flat, it is really just the trans-polar mountain range i mentioned. My orbit had a slight eccentricity and was only able to complete 4 orbits at that altitude before it crashed into the side of a mountain. So it is possible to get a really low orbit, but it isn't sustainable and it is a grueling process. I spent about 6 hours game play and probably something like 10 hours with planning included. Remember, you cant time warp at that altitude.
  3. I hope squad hires you so that every time i'm busy crashing into kerbin i can think: "damn, thats a nice planet"
  4. I remember coming in torwards kerbin from an apo way out from eeloo. It was quite a big craft. Kinda funny because i was planning on aero braking (calculated that i needed to go down to around 7,5 km just so you know how fast I was going) but wasnt paying attention until the Mün popped up to say hi. It didnt end so well. It must have impacted with severel GJ. Should try it out again sometime, was fun. Sadly Bob didnt agree, poor basterd.
  5. I'll test fly it. My comp is probably good enough. Comp specs: CPU: AMD FX 4300 (overclocking to 5MHz) Motherboard: Crosshair V Formula (RoG) GPU: ASUS 1GB (cant rememer name) RAM: 16GB at 1833
  6. You know what would be cool, if you had a small device (transponder) that you can use on all your ships/rovers so you know exactly where you are on a planet. But it wont be able to make maps. That way you can use the maps without having a bulky dish onboard. I wish i knew how to make something like that, but i find Sketchup to be a challenge, so... But if someone could put something like that together that would be great!
  7. actually, to cover a planet completely with 100% reach 100% of the time, you need four sats arranged in the same order that hydrogen atoms surround a carbon atom (cant remember the name of that shape)
  8. i am currently working on a geostationary explanation for the wiki. The last few days i have been adding/recalculating the geo orbits and adding special sections into the pages on orbits. Ill try to incorporate as much of your work as i can (and i will of course give you credit )
  9. Is there a way to change the reference name from comsat to something else? Do I just go into the parts catalog and change the name there or do i also have to do it again in the plugin? I like the name Comsat, but I've been building up a hypothetical company called Kerbocom so i would like to use that name instead.
