I believe you can play without as physics are calculated locally, but it will probably lead to interesting things :-)

[Released] Free IVA Alpha v0.2.1 [1.12.x] (2022-11-24)

I'm following this mod closely, it really can bring a whole new dimension to the game. Keep up the good work @pizzaoverhead, really appreciate your work -
Yes just use those mods. I believe you can use almost any mod as long as all clients have it installed. Interface mods and graphics mods can be installed individually however

Been a fan of the songify series for a long time, that one is a classic :-D !
-
That's why this is our favorite "inactive" mod! Looking forward to the next list of improvements ;-) !

@thedogs the negative reputation is a known issue but a workaround is to adjust the players reputation as need in reputation.txt in the server folder
-
@NorDemoniac The server will save instantly - when possible. As you know there are certain points during a flight where you cannot save / go to spacecenter - if the server is closed during this time, your progress will not be saved. Also I have seen some issues if a player leaves the server without having synched to the remaining player. In my experience this can teleport his vessel back to the launchpad sometimes :-). But all in all it works and is very playable and enjoyable!

@Laffe You can play the career mode in multiplayer. However each player's career tracking is individual. So the science funds and reputation you earn only benefit yourself. You can however use the same ship/instruments to gather the same science for each player for example. Also you can fly and dock to others player's vessels and eva kerbels between the vessels and coop on base and station building. Currently I'm cooping with a friend to build a large Duna vessel where each of us have specialized in different parts of the tech tree - for example he build our rover and I've been working on our communications module (remoteTech mod)

The local save folder is the one in steam/steamapps/common/kerbalspaceprogram/saves/darkmultiplayer as I recall But it sounds like your issue different from the one where synching fails completely
-
@Sifoul I you edit the server files under universe/scenarios/player name you will able to adjust your reputation and funds and probably also the science amount. I have done it with rep and funds at least - - - Updated - - - @volcanicshrimp Try deleting your local dmp save folder when you get stuck at the synching kerbals step

I have a fueltank with a docking port on either end - I control the craft by having a probe connected to one of the dockingports. - My issue is that when I want to dock something to the other docking port and I set it as target, the GUI then shows the first docking port as target (the one where my probe is already attached). This prevents me apparantly from doing a succesful docking to the craft. When I detach the probe and try docking to the that dockingport instead, it works fine- anybody had this issue? The docking port is correctly attached and facing the right way and I can perfectly access it in the GUI by right clicking it - I just get the wrong target when accessing it. - - - Updated - - - Screenshot of craft: http://imgur.com/a/7ICl9 - - - Updated - - - Also if anyone happen to know how to edit the save file so 1 RCSblock becomes 4 symmetrical placed RCSblocks, that would be greatly appreciated. Makes docking extra interesting when you have a very heavy craft with RCS thrusters on only one side! :-) - - - Updated - - - Don't know if this is related to the issue but when I in the VAB try to flip the tank with the docking ports, it seems like it will only connect through the one docking port -After having attached it to the probe however, I can perfectly attach something to the problematic port. I also tried to delete the docking port and attach a new one, but doesn't make a difference :-( http://imgur.com/O1Xy8yy,tSyIMvP#1

We also experience this issue and try to correct each players reputation files when needed (after visiting the Mun and Minmus fx it sucks to only have access to 'one star'/low level missions) I don't know if this is related to the hundreds of kerbals that goes MIA for no reason/randomly :-)
-
I was just about to post the same question :-) but it is probably hard to guesstimate before having seen 1.0 I think I will disable the auto update in steam so I can keep playing dmp :-) @jansn thanks for answer!

I see now that the sections of the 'persistent' save file from single player is just divided directly into seperate files in DMP
-
Hello, does somebody know if there's a fairly easy way to copy a players career progress from a single player game to a DMP server? Thanks
-
Yeah, sadly my friend and I lost one or two contracts since our last session where I know I took "explore the mun" which is gone now. Can't remember if we had crashes. Anyone know if you can edit it back?
-
My friend experienced the exact same behavior, but this was after installing several visuals mods. He removed them from the gamedata folder, and then it worked again. I believe however that it worked for him the session before. Can anyone tell me where to follow the change log for the development build and the unstable build? Thanks
-
@varsi Sounds like an excellent solution - would you recommend a specific program for this? And do you synch everything in game data (including visual mods)? Had an issue when my friend just copied the astronomers visual pack folders
-
Anybody know how reverting to vab or launch affects a mp game? What does unsafe revert mean exactly? Had an issue the other day where I couldn't see friends vessel but that might been due to it having banned parts. Is there an option for auto downloading necessary mods when joining a server? Thanks
-
@godarklight: I guess that the most intriguing thing about ksp multiplayer is the thought of building things together aka "docking". So my five cents would to make docking a/the top priority ;-)
-
Okay thanks, looking forward trying that mod out. Is there any special recommendations for docking to other players vessels in order to avoid dmp related "mishaps" - eg. Is it advisable to EVA from your station while the other player docks?
