So I tried replacing the configs for a few of the Squad engines. And now they don't work. At all. The engines are shrouded, even when there's nothing connected below them, and there is no staging options for the engine. I don't know what I did wrong. -
I agree with Dream Chaser being awesome, but like some of the other people on this thread, I really like the idea of an unmanned shuttle with a cargo bay and all that jazz. Since he said he was making Dream Chaser, I thought that if he had a real-world ship to model something on, it would be easier. Thus, my recommendation for the X-37. (Although the shadiness of that project terrifies me.)

I understand that the real life counterpart will not actually be white, because of both the weight of the paint, and cost. I just think the concept images look really awesome. -

Have you considered using the space shuttle engines mod? Also, I second the idea of adding some orange in the skin. It would look awesome!

Nice! If I could make a suggestion, it would be to have the ascent stage engine hidden inside the descent stage.

I don't think it's that bad. The part count is low, so the game doesn't have to simulate a ton of different parts' physics. -

Or, we could make a plugin that stops the physics of whatever object is being grabbed, like when you do time acceleration.
