  1. The 1.0 update is done and published! I'm also waiting on the confirmation email from KerbalStuff so this should be available there within the next day or so. Next on my list are updating Tweakable Wheels and completing a side project; after that I'll get to work on the new models!
  2. I believe this is caused by an issue with Texture Replacer and its reflection module, so if you remove that it should work fine (albeit without the glorious reflections).
  3. Bob Kerman inspects Peace Station's newest addition: the ScooterTug, a one-Kerbal utility vehicle similar to the MMU. It'll be used for positioning the station's future science platforms. An interesting bug courtesy of the Scatterer Mod. Fortunately it went away after going back to the Space Center.
  4. Indeed it has! I'm going to start getting things updated for 1.0 very soon. Since there weren't massive changes to things it should go quickly once I sit down and actually do it. In Other News: I've got some more info for continuing work on the parts pack, specifically redoing the models and expanding functionality. Models: Since Sauron's original concept rockets were inspired by Russian rocketry, I figured I'd do the same and grabbed a bunch of Soyuz photos and diagrams. There's also a picture of the Falcon 9 (although it lacks greebles, which is contrary to the direction I want to go) and several images of rocket exhaust since I'll be doing custom effects and want them to be more accurate than the Stock ones. Functionality: I've been toying with plans for the parts since I am strongly leaning towards making this pack work both parallel to Stock and as an outright replacement. What that means (in theory) is you can roll with these AND Stock or remove the Stock parts altogether and still have a fully-functional rocketry program. Engines Liquid Fuel will stay the same and serve as the base fuel for all rocket engines Oxidizer will be split into two resources: Oxidizer and Hy-Ox (short for Hypergolic Oxidizer) LFO is less efficient but more powerful than LFHO LFHO will serve primarily in orbital engines while LFO is used in lifters Engines will therefore be split into two categories: standard and hypergolic Standard engines will use regular LFO, but have a limited throttle and cannot be shutdown Hypergolic engines will behave like engines currently do with unlimited throttle and shutdown/restart capabilities, but will use the LFHO mix instead Monoprop engines will also become more significant. I like how the Orange's engines work so there'll be more of those, exclusively for orbital use Fuel tanks will be split into Liquid Fuel, Oxidizer, and Hy-Ox sections Part Sizes will become DX, DY, DZ, and DW (analogous, but not necessarily equal to, the Stock 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 3.75m standards) Solar Panels will be available in two versions upon completion: stock-balanced and nerfed (since I feel the stock ones are overpowered for the amount of electric charge the average vessel uses) Crew Parts will follow the style of the fuel tanks and Sauron's concepts with some aspects drawn from Russian space stations Aero Parts will not be a part of this pack. Since the focus here is rocketry, they're a bit out of the scope of this mod Disclaimer: I may reconsider this decision in the future, but for now there's no aero parts planned I'm pretty confident in the new sizes and some significant inline Monoprop engines. As for Hy-Ox, well... That'll require some testing if I decide to go that route. Let me know what you think! Final note: once I get some work done on the new models (after the update to 1.0) I'll start up a development thread for a more reliable update location.
  5. Good stuff! I've been missing this since I updated. Thanks for working so hard to get this done!
  6. Continuing work on my 1.0 space station, now dubbed "Peace Research Station."
  7. Just to ensure minimal confusion, models don't need to be named "model.mu" as long as the config file's MODEL node is set up properly, and yours is. I believe the Unity version KSP uses is 4.6.1, but a difference in versions usually doesn't cause too much trouble. Could you potentially pack your part into a Unitypackage and post it here? Having a look at your part's hierarchy might give us some clues. Give us a shout if you aren't familiar with the process. Edit: I'm not familiar with the .dds format, but it doesn't look like that's the problem since the log you have posted is referring to an error loading the part model.
  8. It's a brilliant infographic, to be sure. I'm keeping it on hand for the next MechJeb flamewar.
  9. Good luck, Yukon! May your schooling go well and your love for KSP only grow.
  10. 4 points away from my third bar. It feels like waiting for the semester to end.
  11. This man (or woman) speaks the truth. Atmosphere is significantly better than no atmosphere. I have yet to experience the new atmospheres due to final exams, but I'm expecting that I'll enjoy the new stuff once I get the chance to play with it.
  12. 1.0 has brought huge changes to the way aircraft work, so we're bound to see some complaints about the changes. 1.0.2 brought even more changes, bringing more tension to an already-stressed situation. We're going to see complaints for a while, but once people start to get used to the new aerodynamics they'll die down. If we start offering solutions, rather than griping about the people who are upset with the changes, it's bound to get better much faster. My advice (for everyone) is to buck up and figure things out. SSTOs aren't impossible, Squad doesn't hate aircraft, and we're only upset because we don't like change.
  13. I make an attempt to get into career mode with each update, but it's not really my thing. I'll check it out when I finally get the chance to play, but I'll probably head back to sandbox after an hour or so in career mode.
  14. I've been a longtime fan of rockets because they're much easier to design and use, but in recent months I've gotten more invested in plane design. Alas, I have yet to construct a cargo SSTO, so I voted rockets solely because they're my only way into space at this time.
  15. I don't see why MechJeb is a problem. It's a mod for a single player (I'm ignoring DMP here for argument's sake) game that arguably makes it more realistic by adding a highly-advanced autopilot. I don't use MJ because I feel skilled enough to not need it and I enjoy doing things manually. I could use it despite these facts and there would still be no harm in it. Whether or not you use it, regardless of your skill level, what mods you have, and what you're doing in KSP is completely up to you. To MechJeb, or not to MechJeb? Who really cares? This farce was all but dead last year.
  16. I bought it when 0.16 was the current version, back when we had the original part designs! It's been a long time...
  17. Early Access? Oh no, my friend. KSP has transcended Early Access with the release of 1.0! But seriously, KSP is one of my favorite games of all time. If it doesn't win awards then I will have lost the tiny shred remaining of my faith in humanity.
  18. It might not have been added... I'll go fix the OP and will definitely look into adding it myself once I get things updated for 1.0.
  19. In addition to adding the new heating system values and other stuff, yeah. It's simple compared to rebalancing the shuttles, but it'll still take a little while.
  20. Good to know, thanks! I've been away from the game for too long...
  21. I believe the best version to use for making KSP mods is 4.2.2 I'm actually not sure which version KSP currently uses, but all sub-versions of Unity 4 are available for download. Link to the Unity Download Archives
  22. I know that there is a mod that adds tank treads that could be used for that purpose, give me a little while to find it again. Considering the size of the EWCBL, stacking it on top of a rocket is very impractical and would be hard to balance (considering all the lift it generates), so for now there isn't any way to stack it vertically. Edit: found the mod, it's called Kerbal Foundries and is updated for 1.0. At this point, everything needs to be checked and potentially rebalanced for working with the new aerodynamics, but the station parts and ground vehicles should work fairly well with 1.0 since they shouldn't need huge adjustments.
  23. I've been away from KSP for several months due to school and burnout from too much KSP, but I'm getting back into it next week and I plan on streaming it once I do. So yes, people do move on either because they're burned out, busy, or just want something else. Sometimes they come back, other times they don't. Such is life.
