  1. The game calculates burn time based on the last time you thrusted, so if you burned at low throttle, then the game is calculating the burn time off of that acceleration. You could also be using an ion engine, which normally takes forever to do any form of burn.
  2. I know I got interested in space when I was in second or third grade, but I don't remember how. It may have been the Science Channel, or a book, or my father. All I know is that, because I "wasted" my time with video games and was obsessed with Minecraft, I eventually found KSP.

  4. For computer games, it is probably the second most at 91 hours opposed to 464 hours in Terraria according to Steam. However, I had KSP before I got it on Steam, so it probably is much more. For games in general, I have no idea because I spent a lot of time playing Pikmin 2 and several other games before.

  8. Landed on the Mun in the name of the KCST by the Neil Armstrong memorial, and then died in an experimental segway accident.
  9. Go into the settings.cfg (not the one in game) and find the line that says "CONIC_PATCH_DRAW_MODE". In the stock game, that is normally set to 3, but you want to change that to 0. Now, in the game, when you are in solar orbit encountering a planet, adjust your relative inclination so that it is aligned with your target. Then, target the camera to your target planet and you should see your trajectory around it. While you are still in solar orbit, you want to burn north or south to adjust it to get as close to equatorial as possible. You also want to make sure that the orbit is prograde (anticlockwise), not retrograde (clockwise). Then, you can do your small inclination adjustments once you are in a stable orbit. Alternatively, when you perform your retrograde burn/aerobrake, keep your apoapsis as high as possible after doing so, and if your ascending/descending node is in the right position, you can perform the inclination change at a high altitude, making the burn cost much less delta-v.
  10. Apparently, there was a global denial-of-service attack, which made the forums unusable, so they had to rebuild the forums. They were going to just use the recent backup of the forum, but all of the backups were corrupted all the way back until October. Everything after Octover, including user accounts, was deleted. Several people had to recreate their account, including me.

I don't know of a way to edit the current craft, but what you can do is make a correctly assembled lander in the VAB and put that on the launchpad (I suggest you give it a unique name, like "gxq78"). Then press F5 to quicksave. Then, backup your persistence file in case you mess up, and then open the quicksave file. Look for your failed lander in the quicksave.sfs (use ctrl+f!) and copy ALL of the information about its position, speed, etc. (you don't have to copy the stuff with the parts and stuff). Then, find the lander on the launchpad and put the data of the failed lander into that one. Then, go back to the failed lander and edit it slightly. After that, save that and then, in KSP, press F9 to quickload and the successful lander should be where your failed lander was, assuming you did it correctly.
