  1. You see, Ivan, when bring only one wing to space, is half mass to return! Damp you, Autocorrect. Damp you straight to help.
  2. Have you looked into Transfer Window Planner, Flyby Finder, and/or Mechjeb? They can make finding that elusive zero plane change transfer much easier. Alternatively, you can launch when Kerbin is at Mojo’s AN/DN. Don’t worry about an actual intercept at first, just aim to intersect with Moho’s opposite node at perihelion. Once en route, you can play with a second burn there to bring yourself into an encounter in an orbit or two. And no matter how much Delta-V you think you have, bring more Then again, you could accept that Moho is simply a cursed and unholy place that doesn’t want you to visit, and stay away... while you still can.
  3. Oh, and of course there’s my odd little proclivity to blare Lindsay Sterling as a pre-writing de-stress.
  4. I'm with @Just Jim here, I can't put anything coherent down without some measure of silence, but I'll usually have something going thru my head while I'm doing so, or while "mind-writing." Some of my chapters end extremely song driven, the second act of Whispers took this quite to the point of ridiculousness then hung a big ol' lampshade on it, and of course there's no way I could write about a motley crew in an open-sided transport zipping over a jungle without the soundtrack from China Beach playing in my head. For me, this always lost out to: Quite possibly one of the best bad movies ever made, gaining several levels of awesome for the soundtrack alone. Rediscovering it a couple months holey crap years ago, I actually had to walk into a brick & mortar store and by a physical CD. Barbaric, I know.
  5. Awwwwww yeaaaahhhh. Those last couple “pages.” That’s the stuff. Could almost hear the musical score rising and falling and rising again.
  6. So... so many extra letters.. .. *spelling pedantry intensifies* Maybe that’s why I’ve never read Lovecraft...
  7. Year 7, Day 263... We continue to work diligently to return our marooned crew home... by sending them more hardware that has absolutely nothing to do with actually leaving the planet. Coming up next: a thorough and comprehensive review of the Raldean environment!
  8. I can relate. My house was formerly owned by a "master electrician," so some of the wiring is, um...
  9. Any idea how/if this plays nice with Kerbalism?
  10. So that’s why my living room fan light keeps turning on all by itself... Apparently my poltergeist is afraid of the dark?
  11. Can confirm, I get this at 6.4 scale too, and I’m several versions out of date now so it must’ve been around for a while.
  12. “You have recovered a vessel from the orbit of Jupiter. +3000 science.” But seriously, cool concept but that would mean extra tooling, extra development time, and still needing people on the F9 assembly line, likely delaying the real, already micronized ITS. Also, according to this article, delay is due to needing “minor engine rework.”
  13. Sticking probe cores and antennas on your spent transfer stages, eh?
  14. You said it. I wonder if it's a problem with the Falcon or a result of the Atlas scrub this morning? Either way, poop.
  15. Water. Apparently, really stinky water (more on that later). Atmospheric pressure at sea level in my Rald setup is 55kPa, so enough to breathe but just barely. They won't be vacationing in the mountains any time soon. My resource scan shows there actually is some water, but it's entirely confined within an impact basin that's basically at the antipode of the crash site. Despite this, my water drill is managing to pull up... something... And yet I did.
  16. Random, not random: anyone here have any military experience, specifically US army or Marines? Have an organizational question...
  17. I can’t use this right now, but awesome concept! Have some rep.
  18. Guy walks into a crowded room, “um... Mr. Kerman?” Whether one guy turns around or they all do, it’s still funny.
  19. So, SpaceX, right? How bout that SpaceX. Falcons & Merlins and great big rockets, oh my! Y’know, SpaceX... doing that SpaceX stuff... think there’s some stuff coming up pretty soon, right? *winkwinknudgenudge* If only Elon Musk could harness the tangential energy of this thread, he could put the city of Miami on Pluto.
  20. Moving... slowly. I’m adding a big wall of text to an already big wall of text in order to make the whole thing move faster. Writing is strange, sometimes.
