I have just created a new tutorial series on KSP touching on rocket construction, orbital mechanics and more... first 2 videos uploaded! I'd appreciate any feedback....

I try to keep LKO as clean as possible. Depending on the mission profile, I either attempt to deorbit spent stages or leave them in disposal orbits (>500km) that are unlikely to interfere with future missions. I have no problem leaving debris in a solar orbit, however. When dV is tight (for example, a Moho mission), I am less concerned with the location of my debris and more concerned with maximizing my efficiency.

Does anybody know about what time today's live stream (with info on.24/ asteroid mission) will be?

This week is "Space Week" in Israel. I just came home from meeting astronaut Paolo Nespoli of STS-120 and Expedition 26/27 on the ISS. It was a wonderful evening! If there are any kerbonauts in Israel, I'd love to meet up with you guys at some of these events, which will continue throughout the week.

My wife says I am addicted to this game.

I'm not addicted to KSP. We're just in a committed, long-term relationship! -

Is there an alternate download source? The DL from github keeps giving me errors and doesn't work... -
On the Ethics of One-Way Landing Missions ...
dragoncannon replied to LameLefty's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I never leave a Kerbal stranded.... at least intentionally. I treat Jeb and co the same way I used to think of my soldiers back in my army days. I will do everything I can to get them home safely.... -
Ten Commandments for KSP beginners
dragoncannon replied to EasyPlayer's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
1. Thou shalt honor the overlords, Harvester and the rest of the dev team, and pay for the game. Seriously. 2. Thou shalt never send a lone kerbal on a one way mission. 3. Explosions are to be expected at first. 4. The likelihood of Rapid-Unplanned-Disassembly of thy space station is directly proportional to the amount of work put in since last quicksave. 5. Thou shalt NEVER, ever, tempt the space Kraken. 6. Thou shalt add more struts. Thy spacecraft shall thank you, although the computer may not. 7. Thou shalt not kill. 8. Commandment 7 seems unreasonable. Thou shalt try to keep body counts lower than those in Call of Duty. 9. At minimum, thou shalt not kill Jeb. 10. Concerning 9, it is not really possible anyways. He gets re-incarnated when he dies. -
I have recently started a science and technology blog. It includes a review of KSP... I'd love it if you guys would check it out http://universalscitech.wordpress.com/

"The Game that will make your children love physics"
dragoncannon replied to dragoncannon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
oops... but good searching, you found the right article! -
Is the translated title of this Hebrew language review of Kerbal in one of Israel's leading newspapers, HaAretz. I can't beleive how big this game has gotten! If anyone wants, I can try to translate the article later..... http://www.haaretz.co.il/captain/games/1.2118068#commentsForm-2118068

Clockwise or Counterclockwise Orbits?
dragoncannon replied to Astrotropie's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The only satellites moving clockwise (retrograde) in Earth orbit are the surveillance satellites operated by the Israeli Air Force. This is not due to any mission-specific reason, rather, the geopolitical realities of the Middle East. Israeli space launches head west over the Mediterranean so as not to accidentally provoke a war with the hostile neighbors to the East who could misconstrue a rocket launch as an attack. -
I sometimes feel this way all the time :-P Especially when I gear the Western media discuss the Middle East! Don't even get me started!! (or get me started... Middle East Politics lesson, anyone?) However, I have most found it necessary to correct teachers throughout my life! This is an unfortunate statement to the educational system!

BLASPHEMY!!!!! Go Science!

I have used the skycrane/rover, and it works perfectly, however I usually ad a parachue as well for Duna landings.... It and the Kerbal X are the only stock craft worth anything. Althgough I'm not sure why the Kerbal X doesn't come with ASAS and more struts....

Landing on the mun.
dragoncannon replied to Skorpychan's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
While it's not the most efficient method, it can somethimes be useful to kill all or almost all of your horizontal velocity during your deorbit burn... then you must only control your vertical velocity... try not to touch down at more than 10 m/s... 5 m/s is better -
Why Duna is like Mars and Eve isn't like Venus ?
dragoncannon replied to Frogbull's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Jupiter and Saturn DO have moons with liquids on the surface and atmosphere (Titan, Europa, etc)
