    10 attempts for me, and I built ships dedicated to just trying out docking, I no longer have trouble even when I am using horrible angles.

    But what about an escape pod (the cockpit being it), something similar was planned for the F111 Ardvark as I recall. I guess that could be used above mach 2 I guess?

    zero to start with as I use SRB's to get to 6km, but after that I usually need 75% throttle for a while in order to be able to gain speed whilst climbing.
