  1. I've returned to KSP after a bit of a break. When I saw your mod I had to recreate the Apollo11 like many others I'm sure. Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm not entirely sure which engines and parts to use. For example, on the descent/ascent stages. Also, which engine is the J-2 equivalent for the 2nd and 3rd stages? Etc etc. Is there a guide showing which parts to use? I've just gone by descriptions but could easily be missing a part specifically created for purpose. If there's a tutorial of parts to use, that would be really handy. Thanks for making such a cool mod. This is what sets KSP apart
  2. Thankyou both for your suggestions! Came back to it today and tried again, and it just works now. Bizarre. I like how I can de-orbit my Kerbals from my station at 200km :> But not enough oomph to reach Mun orbit... time for more boosters!
  3. So, I saw a Kerbal cannon video and decided I had to do this for myself. I made a cannon with opposite facing heavy engines (Rhino's), put it into orbit and maneuvre a willing Kerbal into the exhaust cone of one. Grinning like an idiot, I fire up the engines.... only Mr Kerbal doesn't go anywhere. He doesn't even cook despite sitting in the most ferocious inferno, happy as can be. Is this a bug? What have I done wrong? Really don't know why he doesn't launch instantly at high velocity like he does in the videos that are around. Thanks! Answer: reboot? No idea why, but it's working as you would expect now.
  4. Thankyou everyone! It was a pendulum rocket design as you identified, and that was causing my issues it would seem. Placing the thrusters below the CoG fixed the problem. Although it's not as cool to look at I love this game, but omg, it's so frustrating when little things like this hold you back...
  5. Yeah it's got ASAS, but I can't post pics as I'm at work. I'll try later. Just figured someone somewhere must have tried this before, curious if it's a known issue.
  6. Definitely with symmetry. I have tried simply placing them and trying that. I've tried rotating them slightly vertically with SHIFT to 'fix' the alignment. I've tried rotating the thrust slightly outwards. It always rotates my crane.
  7. I've been trying to make a skycrane out of a 720 fuel tank with 6 of those little orange thrusters mounted radially around the sides near the top edge of it. Lander and rover hanging underneath. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, the rockets do not seem to align vertically. As soon as I apply thrust, the thing starts spinning/and or tipping, and becomes uncontrollable. Powered descent is simply impossible. It's driving me nuts. I could go with another design, but surely this should work! I should be able to have perfectly aligned rockets...!??! This seems like such a simple thing, how can it go so wrong?
  8. Edit: nevermind. I restarted the game, and for some reason it is now locked in place.... I spent about 45 minutes beating my head against the wall lol. Awesome mod btw! Thanks for sharing with us. Original post: I'm trying your mod, and have a skycrane with a winch under it, hooked up to a rover. But the link is "floppy", even though the cable is fully retracted. I need a solid non flexible link. It just falls over otherwise. How do people design around this?!? I've tried all connector ports, no difference. Am I doing it wrong? Or is it only possible to get this all hooked up by using kerbals in eva? I really just want to put my skycrane/rover onto a lifter and go, or can this not be done? Thanks.
  9. I would like to add a small tower with rockets to the top of my capsule, Apollo style, so that it can fire and send my capsule free if (when) the lower stages go *boom*. But I don't know how to trigger it. The emergency could happen at any time, so I need some way to trigger that stage at ANY point during the launch. I will also want to have it as part of my normal stage sequence I guess, so that I can discard it when no longer needed. Is this possible? Do I need a mod? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm new to this game! Thanks for your help.

  11. Yeah I've tried every permutation of view/zoom I can think of. It is a satellite in circular orbit, with a booster right on top of it. I can always choose to set the booster (debris) as target, but not the satellite which is now detached. If I manage to highlight the satellite, it ALWAYS says set target on debris. I time warped until there was separation of booster/satellite, so no issue highlighting each. I still click on the satellite and it STILL says to set debris as target. Very frustrating!
  12. It is impossible for me to click on some objects in orbit and set them as my target. Some items I can, some I cannot. Doesn't seem to matter if they are in similar orbits, or different ones. The one satellite I really want to target (for docking) simply refuses. If I click on it, it comes up with the set target dialog, but for the name of ANOTHER item in a different orbit! Bug...? Any workarounds. If I can't set it as target I can't use mechjeb to get info on it. Thanks in advance.
