[1.2] Procedural Fairings 3.20 (November 8)
Epic DaVinci replied to e-dog's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Are these the ones that Scot manley recenlty reviewed? If so i shall be gettiing these when i get home, they look awesome. I thought they were a part of the 2.1 update, oh well. -
If i was to choose 1 game, It would have to be Battlefield 1942. I played a Mod for this game called Desert Combat, which brought all weapons and vehicles up to date. I joined a gaminig community called "Dontcamp" which have firm rules on gameplay styles, No Camping, name calling, ruiniing the game for others etc etc, I soon became a Moderator for the game and enjoyed many years being part of a thriving community, one which i have ment many friends from. However, all this came at a price. I was that addicted to playing the game, it took up too much of my spare time, and i eventually lost my Fiance and House due to it. It was at that point where i had to step away from the keyboard and give myslef a few slaps. Luckily now, i have an understanding girlfriend, who keeps my gaming habits in check.

Ive been gaming from about 1983-84, so i have a lot of fond memories regarding historical gaming. My faveroute eras, were the 16bit consoles (Mega drive and SNES), back then i was in my early teens and used to spend countless hours with my friends on games like Mario Kart, Streets of Rage and Road Rash. back then games were simpler, more fun and original. Game developers had more creativity amongst them. I have recently got hold of a Mega Drive and a Snes, and must say, I wish i had'nt have bothered. Playing games that i have fond memories of from my youth today sort of ruins the memories for me, they havnt aged well at all. I know its not about the graphics. There is something else that i cant put my finger on which takes away the fun. Weather its the semi-broken state of the consoles i got, having to wiggle wires and turn on and off repeatedly to get to work, i dont know. I just know that i wont be doing it again.

Am I the only one who ignores the math,
Epic DaVinci replied to syfyguy64's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm the same, I understand Delta-V but dont know how accurate these DV Maps are, what if my ascent wasnt 100% efficiant? those numbers will all be wrong. So, All of my craft are built just based on what i think will be sufficiant, sometimes they are way underpowered, or too complex or heavy. But i enjoy the guess work. -
Starting to dislike the Discovery channel.

Theres a new one now about Amish hardmen who go round Amish communities dealing with people who are breaking the Amish law. WHAT THE HELL??? This is getting insulting now. Deadliest Catch Ice Road Truckers Hillbilly Fishing Storage Wars Storage Hunters Salvage wars Ice Pilots Highway through Hell Amish hardmen American Chopper Sons of Guns Im too mad to continue.. What about programs like... Nasa Missions Aerospace news The "I F***ing Love Science" show (popular Facebook group) Shows about actual science topics like whats happening at Cern these days? what is NASA JPL working on? how is the cure for cancer going? -

Rover Testing.
Epic DaVinci replied to Epic DaVinci's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yeah, i currently use the space port rocket launching pad for jumping off at speed to test for strength, but there are no steep hills to test traction and braking. -
Hello, Please can somebody recomend a good moon or planet to test a rovers capabilitys out. The Moon is getting boring with its smooth hills and bumps. I want to test the limits of grip, maneuverability and power, Steep hills and uneven terrain that will test individual suspension. Thank you in advance.

Hes part of my daily routine, When i get in from work and have sorted all my stuff out and am ready for some KSP, i check youtube for any new vids he has uploaded and watch them first (same for Chickenkeeper, HOCgaming & Kurtjmac) Sometimes i find myself watching videos from these people instead of actually playing it myself. His knowledge of Physics is extremely high and this shows in his videos. Does anybody know what he does for a living?

Youtube has countless tutorial videos on it for you viewing pleasure. Search "Scott Manley" and "Kurtjmac" for two very popular youtube KSP players.

Orbits are all about sideways speed, not how far you go up. In the simplest terms, fly straight up untill 10,000m. then turn over 45* to the east (or 90* on the nav ball) once you get up to about 30,000m check your Apoapsis in the map view and make sure its above 70,000m, once it is, point your nose towards the horizon and build up some horizontal speed. To make it more efficiant, one your apoapsis reaches 70,000m you can cut the engines and re-ignight them once you reach it.

Manned mission to Duna and back! (PIC HEAVY)
Epic DaVinci replied to Specula's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Nice Work, My last trip to Duna ended with me running out of fuel on approach to Duna and forgetting to put chutes on. Needless to say, they died. -
Warning, Contents of this package may explode hilariously.

I'd just like to take a minute to thank you all. If you're a modder for this game you are selflesly giving your time and skill in order for others (like myself) to enjoy this fantasic game even more. I myself posess no 3d skill (i once made a box in Sketchup) and to see the complex geometry that goes into some of these models that you create is just inspirational. Aswell as the modders that create parts, there is also some very skilled people who create pluggins for example (Mechjeb and mapsat). I cannot begin to fathom the amount of code that goes into writing these programs, again, i tip my hat to you. I'df just like to express my gratitude to you all again for your high level of skill and hard work and i look forward to trying out your new creations. Thank you. Dan.

Starting to dislike the Discovery channel.
Epic DaVinci replied to Epic DaVinci's topic in The Lounge
It does show some shows i like, such as the odd program featuring Steven Hawking, and one of my faveroute shows "Mythbusters", How its made and How do they do it are also very good in my eyes, but the majority of the listings is utter tosh. -
Has anybody else noticed the amount of crap the Doscovery channel is showing these days? What happened to showing sciency documentrys like it used to? The current schedual is full of stupid fly on the wall shows about, trucking, flying, fishing (hillbilly style) storage wars, storage hunters, auction hunters etc etc.... These shows belong on Sky 1 or Living. Not Discovery.
-
Even worse, it was on Discovery!, the so-called Documentry channel!

Ok, Ill open it. I know the box is slightly damaged but the product is fine, however, it was in a suitcase for the best part of 20 hours. As for Playing with it, im 34. I think my Fiance will give me strange looks if I start running round my house with a model shuttle in my hand making rocket noises such as brrrrghhh "ckkkhhhkjkoooooooooowoooooohhhhhh"
