How much freedom have you brought to the Kerbol System?
nettcod replied to TheBobWiley's topic in KSP Fan Works
There are countries that have put men on the moon, and there are countries that aren't America. -
No, it was only stickied because it was the thread of the month for July, but it's no longer July, so it's not stickied anymore.

Why does the SpaceX capsule have so much empty space?
nettcod replied to guitarxe's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The interior is probably unfinished. It doesn't even have a toilet, or padding on the walls. -
Wasn't Gilly supposed to have giant crystals like this?

Falcon 9 first stage has successfully landed!
nettcod replied to goldenpeach's topic in Science & Spaceflight
It will still have normal Draco thrusters for RCS, but I think they are just for steering and docking. I think that the Superdracos will be used to perform burns to change the Dragon's orbit, and for deorbit, which are what I mean by maneuvering. I'm not sure, though. -

nettcod replied to goldenpeach's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I thought they meant that Dragon 2 will be like the current one, but with Superdraco thrusters and landing legs that come out of the heat shield. The Superdracos would be used as a LES during launch (even for cargo missions. Cargo costs money), and after launch they would be used for maneuvering in orbit and then landing back at the launch site to be reused, just like the Falcon 9. Both crew and cargo missions would use the Dragon 2. Note: This may not actually be true, it's just how I understood it. -
are you with Mechjeb or Kerbal engineer
nettcod replied to robopilot99's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I am with neither. They ruin the fun and anyone who uses either of them is having fun the wrong way and should stop using them. *SARCASM* -
I forgot the snacks.

Portal 3? It's called, 'Portal 2: Episode 2: Part 2: Chronicle 2'.
-
So bring back the Saturn V? That's possible, but probably not very practical. Most of the plans and documents for it were lost, and it was made using outdated manufacturing techniques. We've forgotten how to make them. It's probably easier and cheaper just to start over and build a brand new rocket than to revive and modernize an old one from the '60s.

Are nuts a kind of nut? -
Awesome! I can't wait.

That's easy. Just don't die. Are Netflix a country? -
Are we using autopilot on the first mission?
-
What space related calculations do you use with KSP?
nettcod replied to CaptainKipard's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Mostly ÃŽâ€v and TWR. -
So are we using autopilot? Also, I still haven't gotten the invite on Skype (my Skype name is Nettcod), and could the next meeting be a little later in the day? In my time zone, it was at 6:00 AM.
-
I (almost) always use math for designing rockets. That way I know it will have enough ÃŽâ€v and TWR for it's mission and I'm not just guessing and hoping it works.
-
I still haven't gotten the invitation on Skype (my Skype name is Nettcod). It was supposed to be a reference to Gene Kranz.
-
Age is irrelevant. KSP is intended for people of all ages.

As flight director, I have a few questions: 1.) Will the first mission use any autopilot? 2.) If so, for which parts of the mission? 3.) Will we be using kOS or Mechjeb for the autopilot? I need to know soon so I can start writing the autopilot if we are using kOS. 4.) If we are using kOS, has anyone tested to make sure it is compatible with KMP? If not, we should do that soon. 5.) Should I get a snazzy white vest?

They need to bring back the Magic Boulderâ„¢ and make it behave like a normal asteroid so I can deorbit it. Also this.
-
Neat! I hope they bring back the KIA screen.

I know, but I'm trying to say that if Borman and Lovell spent 2 weeks on Gemini, then those poor guys will survive a day and a half in a capsule with 10 m3 of living space and a toilet. It's not that bad. Yeah, I figured that out a little too late. I was just trying to point out that they'll survive a day and a half, it's not the end of the world. I probably should have said that to the guy below you. Back on topic, they should have pressed F9.
