  1. When I'm making rovers etc, I usually raise the communotron a little with a tiny strut thing. Apart from that I cant think of any other purpose. However for the solar panels, you could attach it to the rockomax adapter hub, stick it on an attachment point, not have the issue of it being off center and aggravating your inner OCD and so on
  2. I swear this is the thing that comes up every time with orbits SOMEONE make something to help these people!
  3. Also its a really bad idea to land on a pole, land nearby but not on it. last time i did that , my craft disemboweled itself
  4. I'm gonna push the boat out on my luck here - Its not a serious rant. I apologize for activating the sensible mature side of yourself (which frankly I have no idea what is formed up of) by putting in rage/protest. Its supposed to be a humorous suggestion, summarizing (I hope i can spell) that I am confused about why It was taken away. I'd also like to draw your attention that I never demanded for this to be changed It was only brought up as an issue True
  5. Well, the way I'm doing it is with different modules for different things - The hab will be connected via a jr and standard docking port to the solar panel array that is also modular. I have to say though, your way involves kethane - mine involves expeditions which I'm sure you'll do but that's the focal point for me
  6. Good old canard landings. They were the best. Who remembers sea skating? With parachutes
  7. This is incredibly similar to the constellation thing - I love it, it interests me why there isn't, like, a separate solar panel thingy for the base instead of sticking them in the hab modules
  8. Let me give you an example: This is Bob on the surface of the Mun "hello" Now the thing is, he wants to make his Munbase, well, normal "Do I?" Yes Anyway, his base is in the centre of a crater. The crater is light for 8 hrs, and dark for 8hrs When its dark, he relies on RTGs Smashes Buzzer When its dark, he relies on the power from his solar panels that he charged in the day, to power the lights at night have a snack Bob

That's awesome! Its a different way of doing it I haven't seen before. It works well!
  10. It scared the chips outta me because when it was full screen I was like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  11. A cylindrical shape, same length, maybe antenna coming out of it, window(s) and frame like (you know, cylinder on inside with windows and stuff then bars around it)
  12. I love this! This is going as my background right now. I do have to say though, slight criticism, I don't like the "Duna" Writing
  13. Your thinking on the wrong lines here as far as I see. First off, the kerbals don't have a parachute, nor should the robots. Second, the robots are only for exploration and or repair, not like Wall-E where they do everything. I mean, what would be the point of setting up manned missions if a robot could do it. Yes you guys will come up with some other reasons. Anyhow, I think that the robots real purpose should be that it is maintenance - for example, I set up a Munbase. Whilst its dark, the robots receive a Module - the kerbals can't do anything with it. SO the robots move the module, dock it together, attach things together and in the Munar morning, they have a new module to store snacks. I think that its a good principle but it just needs to be tamed a little, cleaned up a little, then tested. Also, could you draw up a 2.5m similar to but not the same as habitat structure but for, well, structure please?
  14. There aren't any ingame parts as I assume you've been told, however, I'd use damned robotics and KAS. I saw this guy did it in this full constellation program. It was probably the best way to do it as far as I have known Edit: Ninja'd before I even read it!
  15. So then.... To raise this issue, I have made this thread. To those who are like "whaaa?" this is about the removal of the "snap to" gigantor solar panel point. I have raised this in the general chat but now its a suggestion/rage/protest/sit down for cookies What do YOU think?
  16. Mines some emotional stuff about venturing forward... whatever comes to mind
  17. Yea the snap point, they removed it from all solar panels, which is a pain is the ***
  18. Yea, that kinda helped, its still a pain and really should be put back in (I think) All in favor, comment
  19. No, sorry I don't have any pictures of me putting the gigantors on anything, however, this issue only arose because for a change, I wanted a solar panel ontop of a rocket, which brought on the pains
  20. No, its been here all the time until 0.21.2, and its a pain that they've removed it CURSE YE, SQUAD!
